Test system update fails on ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
I use Oracle 9.2.0.6 on HP - UX (B.11.11)
I'm refreshing to a test of production on the same server system.
The update fails on...
ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 1: ' / elltest/system/system_01.dbf'
I do mainly:
-Place prod tablespaces in backup mode
-Copy the files from production to test directories
-Take prod tablespaces out of backup mode
-pass the prod (once for each newspaper group) log files
-copy files from archive prod to test
STARTUP NOMOUNT
Create control file from a copy of the prod trace file
(CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE SET DATABASE 'ELLTEST' RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG)
It works
RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE
-J' I grab the last log archive copied during production.
ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 1: ' / elltest/system/system_01.dbf'
I think I have I have all required log archiving prod?
Any advice?What you're trying to do is an incomplete recovery of the database. Since the redo logs are not used in your recovery you must explicitly specify the time to stop. If you do not process assumes a complete recovery and will require a request for reinstatement of online recovery log data that you do not.
You can use UNDO based recovery with
RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL USING BACKUP CONTROL FILE;
then type CANCEL after the last active log has been applied.
Open with option RESETLOG database. It should work. -

Hello
You must have the program installed to be able to read the attached files that programs
for example, if it is a .doc file in the attachment, you installed Word
.xls, you need Excel
. PPS, you need Powerpoint
etc.
but fortunately, there are FREE viewers provided by Microsoft for the accessories of extension file above that will save you having to buy Microsoft Office
Here are the download links for free Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint viewers:
Word Viewer
View, print and copy Word documents, even if you don't have Word installed. This download is a replacement for Word Viewer 2003 and all previous Word Viewer versions.
Excel Viewer
Open, view, and print Excel workbooks, even if you don't have Excel installed. This download is a replacement for Excel Viewer 97 and all previous Excel Viewer versions.
PowerPoint 2007 Viewer
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 Viewer allows you to view the presentations of all the features created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions.
and you can try the FREE Open Office applications game to read these file extensions

Get the error ora-01113 opening database after restore
Hi all
We have a test database. I lost my entire database including DBFs, newspaper Archives, controlfiles, redo log files.
But I have a hot copy of the lost database backup.
I tried to recover the database using the backup copy
I have restored my control files and all the dbfs and then when I tried to recover the database, I received the following message
RMAN-00571: =.
RMAN-00569: = ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS =
RMAN-00571: =.
RMAN-03002: failure of the command recover at 2005-04-01 14:14:43
RMAN-06054: recovery of media asking unknown journal: thread 1 Yvert 32230460
still I tried to open the database resetlogs, but I was following eror
RMAN > alter database open resetlogs:
ORA-01113: file 5 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 5: C:\DB11\ORADATA\DB11\system01.dbf
I don't have the recovery logs and the archivelogs. Can someone help me how to open the database
Thanks and greetings
VINCENTFirst step: make sure that you have a safe backup of what you use at the moment.
Because it is a test database and that you have a safe backup and you are certain that you do not have the available archived recovery logs to apply for restoration and (latter) canceling immediately doesn't allow however not the database open (maybe you might have been fortunate regarding the SNA/point in time consistency ), then:
Use the allowresetlogs_corruption hidden parameter (pretty sure he is one, can come back and edit this later to confirm), take an export and import the data into a new version of the database.
allowread_only_corruption is another, but the resetlogs should do the trick

ORA-03297: file contains data beyond the requested value of RESIZING
Hi all
I am trying to increase the size of my space of system tables. The tablespace contains a data size 900MB file and it may increase to 2 GB.
I would like to change this to autoextend I'll operate on the database csscan.
When to change the autoextend and unlimited file I get: ORA-03297: file contains data beyond the requested value of RESIZING
I also tried to increase the data file of 4 GB, but still the same. I see that there is more then enough space on the file system.
Need help.
Oracle Enterprise edt 10.2.0.5
Concerning
933746The first statement is that originally the problem - you try to shrink the file, develops it not.
The autoextend (second statement) should be fine as is.

ORA-22288: file or LOB FILEOPEN operation failed
Hello
I am developing a small function to extract a file from the file system and return it as a BLOB. I created and Oracle Directory (CREATE or REPLACE DIRECTORY GRMS_TMP AS ' / tmp';) and gave the public access to this directory.
Below the code and output... am I missing something?
Thank you very much, Pier Paolo.
Function FAOGETFILE (p_FileName Varchar2)
Return of the Blob
v_OutBlob BLOB;
v_FileSrc BFILE.
Begin
v_FileSrc: = BFILENAME ('GRMS_TMP', p_FileName);
-Insert data into the Table
Insert the FAO. FAO_GRMS_WS_BLOB
Values (FAO. FAO_GRMS_WS_BLOB_S.NextVal, p_FileName Empty_Blob(), Sysdate)
Return BLOB_DATA in v_OutBlob;
DBMS_OUTPUT. PUT_LINE('SYS.) DBMS_LOB. FILEEXISTS (v_FileSrc) '. SYS. DBMS_LOB. FILEEXISTS (v_FileSrc));
-Open the file
DBMS_LOB. FileOpen (v_FileSrc, DBMS_LOB. LOB_READONLY);
-File loading
DBMS_LOB. LOADFROMFILE (DEST_LOB = > v_OutBlob,)
SRC_LOB = > v_FileSrc,
AMOUNT = > DBMS_LOB.getLength (v_FileSrc));
-Closing file
DBMS_LOB. Close (v_FileSrc);
Return v_OutBlob;
End FAOGETFILE;
On the file system, I have all rights/privileges to access the file:
File:
drwxrwxrwt 38 root root 270336 16 Feb 10:32 tmp
File:
-rwxrwxrwx 1 Xxxuser 42 16 Feb 10:14 temp.txt dev
When I run the service I get the following:
Error report-
ORA-22288: file or LOB FILEOPEN operation failed
No such file or directory
Output: SYS. DBMS_LOB. FILEEXISTS (v_FileSrc) 0
In addition to the suggestion of Hoek - / tmp is on the server database, no?

HTTPS/portfolio ora-28759: file open failed
HI - just check if someone managed to get utl_http appeal successfully to a secure site, on 10g R2 Windows, as I hit something of a wall of brick with it.
I followed the steps described in this article:
http://www.idevelopment.info/data/Oracle/DBA_tips/PL_SQL/PLSQL_19.shtml
In summary, I
-Downloaded the certificates of my target site.
-in Portfolio Manager, imported the trust Certs to add to a portfolio
-registered portfolio, confirmed the file ewallet.p12 is created.
-added set_wallet to my code line, triple check the password is correct.
But when I run the code, I can't go past this error:
declare w clob; begin utl_http.set_wallet('file:c:\wallet', 'wallet123'); w:=utl_http.request('https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.asmx'); dbms_output.put_line(w); end;
The user I run the code that can access the c:\wallet folder, I created a directory and a write file.ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1577 ORA-28759: failure to open file ORA-06512: at line 5
some research on Google, I tried also affecting the Auto Login portfolio in owm, which creates a cwallet.sso file in the ED. portfolio does not the problem, with or without the password setting.
I saw also refers to the addition of the portfolio to the sqlnet.ora file location, but could not find a definitive answer to the question of whether this is necessary.
Everyone has hit this error and by chance found a solution?
Thanks in advance.Hello
Portfolio Manager to set permissions on files, so they can only be read by the user who created them. Change the permissions or copy the files to another location. And select the new location in your "set_wallet". -
just noticed on my network and sharing center that the network discovery, file sharing, and media sharing turned on, should they be on or off? It's on my home computer and I do not share anything thank you.
If you do not share with another PC or XBOX Media Center, then your file and media sharing must be turned off.

Windows 7: search does not find the files that should be. I have indexed directory and *.php included on the list of extensions, but search can't find files for Word searches that I know there are files with these words in them.
If you're frustrated by research (aka Desktop Search), you are not alone. Click the Start button and type find and click the button 'change the way Windows search'. Now click on the Advanced button and select the tab file types scroll down and find your type of file (in your case .php) and make sure the radio button "index properties and the content of the file" is selected for the file type.
Out the form by clicking on the OK button, but do not close the form when you click the Advanced button.
Then, you may need to change the indexing locations. If the folder where your files are located is not known for indexing search, then search is not even bother looking for here (a source of frustration for many users). Maybe your files are located on another drive or partition without the knowledge of the indexing engine. Using the options icon and select/deselect expand, make sure that at least the files of interest are included for the indexed locations. I hope this helps.
