ORA-01078 and LRM-00109 after I installed a single instance of 12 c
Hello
I configured a database with dbca as single instance on a server Linux with Oracle GI 12.1.0.2 6 Oracle and Oracle DB 12.1.0.2 with power supply of January 2015. So not CBD or so. Installation runs without any problem.
After Installation I wanted to start the db, but it gives me a
SQL > startup
ORA-01078: failure in the treatment of system settings
LRM-00109: could not open the parameter file ' / usr/local/oracle/product/12.1.0.2/dbs/initmyhr12D.ora'
SQL > exit
So I looked for it in the directory. I found the file, but it was created with big letters:
ora121@testserv-DB_12_1_0_2/myhr12D:/usr/local/Oracle/product/12.1.0.2/DBS
He's $

-rw - r - 1 ora121 oinstall 7680 9 February 14:35 orapwMYHR12D
It's funny! I know, I just ove, but is - it an official bug in 12.1.0.2, when I create a database and gives the SID in large letters the dbca creates the file init.ora with big letters but tries to load it with small letters? Not very well I think...
A big thank you and best regards,
Dave

export ORACLE_SID =MYHR12D (capital letters)

Please give a help to remove this error also please guide me what wrong I do here.

Of 11.2, Oracle database binaries do not contain the ASM. To install it, you must use the GI of the autonomously. Search the documentation link I gave, it is IM on Windows only.

Grid Erros ORA-01078: ORA-29701:
Hello world.
I'm currently installing a second grid Infrastructure in a single server. The first is a 11.2.0.1 and the second is 11.2.0.3. on solaris 10. In the second installation I chose to install grid for stand-alone server infrastructure. Thus, when a test to start the asm instance gives me this error:
When I run the code above, the first instance of the DSO is turned off and the other database.SQL> startup mount ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters ORA-29701: unable to connect to Cluster Synchronization Service
I noticed that in the second installation of the comman crsctl tool is not installed just crsctl.bin. All steps for installation went well.
So, can you advise me what I should do to fix this problem? Some documents or something? Please, I beg you.
Thanks in advance.
johnxjeanHi, after trying several posibilities. The solution was the instance ASM starting srvctl utility.

Hello
Sorry can't answer you earlier. I have soved the issue of the listener. In fact, there were two issues one of them was the problem of the LISTENER and the other was the following: -.
SQL > startup
ORA-01078: failure in the treatment of system settings
LRM-00109: could not open the parameter file ' / u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/dbs/initorcl.ora'ORA-01078:
First of all, I solved the ORA-01078: LRM-00109: deliver and then I went to solve the problem of the LISTENER. Here is how I solved the problem LISTNER. It now displays the stable state. It does not change like the one I mentioned above: -.

Wil spfileXE.ora and database has changed no start
Hello!
I added the following lines in la.../dbs/spfileXE.ora:
############################
# Archive Log Destinations
############################
Log_archive_dest_1 = ' location = / usr/lib/oracle/xe/oradata/archive.
log_archive_start = TRUE
in order to define the database permanently for 'Archive Log Mode'
Now, I can't go up or start the database more!
SQL > startup mount
ORA-01078: failure in the treatment of system settings
LRM-00109: could not open the parameter file ' / usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/dbs/initXE.ora'
I created this file "initXE.oa" as a copy of "spfileXE.ora".
It gives me the following error:
SQL > startup mount
ORA-01078: failure in the treatment of system settings
LRM-00123: invalid character found in the 0 input file
How can I solve this problem?
Is it possible on Oracle XE to change all the settings permanently in the initialization file, and this initialization file where on my linux OS
I use Ubuntu 10.10
Thanks for any help!
GerhardEdit you directly the file? It is not possible (or least desirable), as the spfile is a "binary".
Settings are made via
ALTER system set commands...
or
a spfile based on a pfile, with the creation of the spfile file... commandI hope that you have a backup spfile and pfile, that you could use to cancel the change.
If this isn't the case, maybe something like this might work:
strings spfileXE.ora > save_initXE.ora SQL> create spfile from pfile = '..path../save_initXE.ora';

Error message: ORA-00821: specified value sga_target 4 M is too small
Hi all
My database instance is down, when I'm trying to start, it throws an error:
ORA-00821: sga_target 4 M value is too small, you must be at least 28 M
The problems began when erroneous changed sga_target for some values without specifying the unit.
My question is, how can I solve this problem, so that the database instance is down? I use spfile
I tried to start the instance with pfile (start pfile='D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\pfile\init.ora') it throws errors:
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file "D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\pfile\init.ora".
ORA-01078: failure in the treatment of system settings
Please someone help me
Concerning
SadikHello
What you can do in this case and you do not have a good pfile, you can proceed as follows:
1. find the spfile, normally in the directory of $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
2. a copy of the spfile to be sure will not be damaged.
3. on unix command prompt: string - a> newpfile.ora
4. check with the newpfile.ora editor and change. The pfile file will contain all of the settings and you must change the SGA_TARGET value to a height of 400M or more. Smaller values can be made, but are not advised to 10 gr 2 or higher.
5. try start the database using the newpfile.ora update.Hope this will solve your problem.
Best regards, Gerwin

How can I recognize that this inti.ora file belongs to PROD or TEST?
Please advice.

Error ORA-17503 at the start of the instance data in the CARS
Hello!
I installed Oracle 11 g SE (11.2.0.4) with CARS with 2 nodes on RedHat 7.1 with separation of roles (grid and oracle db run under different users)
Just after installation it worked, I was able to connect to the database, create a table and see it on the two nodes of the RAC.
But after restarting the servers, I can not make it works again
Maybe someone could help me understand what I am doing wrong?
When I'm trying to start a database on the vm-ora-05 node instance, I get this:

Hello
Everything was running as a result with the exception of a question with ENTERPRISE MANAGER I posted on the discussion. So following the favorable response of the discussion, what I did is I tried to change the listening port, and then I got this error message ORA-01031: insufficient privileges . Then after I uninstalled the database again and tried to remove all the listener again and tried to add the listener again, but has no wok. I have the grid installed in my pc. I already uninstalled dbca database so I wonder how I could resolve the question above? I have oracle grid in my pc and here is some information that you might need.

CRSCTL overview
CRSCTL is an interface between you and Oracle Clusterware, analysis and requesting objects Oracle Clusterware Oracle Clusterware APIs.
Oracle Clusterware 11 g release 2 (11.2) introduced controls compatible with the cluster with which you can perform the check, start and stop operations on the cluster. You can run these commands from any node in the cluster to another node in the cluster, or on all nodes of the cluster, depending on the operation.
You can use the CRSCTL commands to perform several operations on Oracle Clusterware, such as:
- Start and stop Oracle Clusterware resources
- Activation and deactivation of the Oracle Clusterware demons
- Check the status of the cluster
- Management of the resources that are third-party applications
- Integration of Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) with Oracle Clusterware of failure isolation support and ensure the integrity of clusters
- Debug Oracle Clusterware components
