    What do you mean by "port number"? HTTP port (usually 8080), or listening port (normally 1521)?

    To change the name of the service, you can use (as a DBA or SYSDBA)

    SQL > alter system set service_name = '';

    Oracle XE comes with Apex as an administrator and developer web interfaces. The apex is web enabled the PL/SQL code. And such a code heavily used package HTP.

  • Oracle Database Express Edition used in a stand-alone database

    I have developed databases for years in access. I had a lot of people want me to databases for them. I don't want to make databases in access and then have to worry about sending a database to a different State and then find out that the user has a different version of access installed and it does not work properly.

    Can I use Oracle database Express edition to create a database with a front end that I can send to others and they can install on their computer and run it? Or do need to install the full Oracle Express? In other words, is there like a version of the Runtime?

    user13756579 wrote:
    I saw that you had to install twice last night, messed up my password. The only thing that that worries me is the database always current running on the user's computer, when well even that they could not use the database for months at a time. These databases are of small databases to keep the data of the members of the group. That is to say. name, address, phone number, personal information and perhaps a scanned document or two.

    I have looked at other database programs, but won't put a lot of money if I could develop only 3-5 small databases annually.

    You can develop your application in such a manner, that it will start service Oracle XE and stop it at the exit. Set the service to start manually. That's all.

  • Execution of GoldenGate on Oracle 11g Standard Edition?

    We are looking to run Oracle GoldenGate on Oracle 11 g Standard edition server to another Oracle 11 g DB on Standard. I read that the documents and they speak for Oracle for Oracle using XStreams which is part of the water course. But I understand that flows is available on the company.

    So is it possible to run GoldenGate on Oracle DB Standard Edition?

    As far as I KNOW, Golden Gate didn't need on Oracle edition to be used, but may have license of cost differences.
    It runs on Oracle version 8i for the latter, not only on the Oracle database and not only between the same version of Oracle and the same OS and not just between two Oracle db.

  • With the help of OBIEE with Oracle Database Express Edition? SOLVED

    I have a customer who wants a quick demo of OBIEE. They sent us as data source csv files. I migrated the Excel files for ease of use, but Excel files seem to have limitations on how I can combine columns, such as the concatenation and formatting.

    I then loaded them in a database Oracle Express Edition, assuming that more "database" functionality would be placed at my disposal. I managed to load in the Administration tool, but the answers gives me the following error when I try to view the results of the Express database:

    ODBC driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).

    Check your TNSNAMES file, see if it points to the correct server / db.

  • AWR with Oracle 11g Standard edition

    Hello

    I have the database to Oracle 11 g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production in my database. And when I ask for the control_management_pack_access parameter it value as DIAGNOSTIC + TUNING. I generated several AWRs with 1 hour 24 hours period as well. The two reports gives the error WARNING: as DB time is less than a second, he had minimal activity of foreground in period snapshot. Some of the percentage values are not valid. and DB time is zero for each AWR reports.

    Can someone please help me solve this confusion DIAGNOSTIC + TUNING pack comes with the Standard edition and why DB time gives zero?

    Thank you

    TK.

    Hello

    Database created on Standard Edition should have control_pack_management_access = none. You can change, but the risk is that you use the options that are available only on the Enterprise Edition. In itself, you can use Statspack.

    Kind regards

  • VIRTUALBOX/Oracle 11g Express: ORA-12505

    I'm setting up Oracle Express 11g for the first time...

    By running as a guest in Virtualbox/Win7/Centos 6.4.

    The problem is, 11g is initially installed and configured automatically, the listener knows nothing about the additional host 192.168.56.101 which is necessary for the guest chef communication address. So, I'm trying to solve this problem.

    I can telnet to win7 for CentOS OK,

    sqlplus works well, I can connect sys/pass as sysdba.

    Select v wire running instance $;

    gives XE

    tnsping XE in CentOS gives:

    TNSNAMES adapter used to resolve the alias

    Try to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.56.101)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = XE)))

    OK (0 msec)

    I changed the listener.ora and tnsname.ora than they were after the installation to HOST = 192.168.56.101 instead of localhost.localdomain here:

    Listener.ora is:

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =

    (SID_LIST =

    (SID_DESC =

    (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)

    (ORACLE_HOME = u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe)

    (= Extproc PROGRAM)

    )

    )

    LISTENER =

    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.56.101)(PORT = 1521))

    )

    )

    TNSNAME.ora is:

    XE =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.56.101)(PORT = 1521))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = XE)

    )

    )

    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS_LIST =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))

    )

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SID = PLSExtProc)

    (PRESENTATION = RO)

    )

    )

    DEFAULT_SERVICE_LISTENER = (XE)

    / etc/hosts in CentOS is:

    127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4

    : 1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

    192.168.56.101 loc

    Execution of SQL Developer is in Win7 where there is no installed Oracle.

    Connection settings are:

    User name: sys

    HostName: 192.168.56.101

    Port: 1521

    SID: XE

    Getting ORA-12505...

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    The problem has been resolved by disabling listener.ora and put the correct host tnsnames.ora to address

    sb92075: it is necessary to build the Virtualbox VM: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/community/developer-vm/index.html#dbapp I could not do their work VM, so I installed 11 G in CentOS VM. The idea to disable listener.ora proved to be excellent. I used the tnsnames.ora as follows: XE = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 92.168.56.101)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = XE))) EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = PLSExtProc) (PRESENTATION = RO))) and after the reboot, the connection is OK. Thank you
