  • How to copy an organizer 'photo album' to a digital photo frame, photo enforcement "album?

I like to keep the order of the photo I put in place in an organizer 'photo album.  When I copy the photos to photo album on a USB key, the order is the order of file name.  Is there a way to keep the order "photo album"?

Order of the album is limited to the catalogue of the Organizer. The order of sorting out the catalog may decide where you view album. You can create an album, choose your album order, rename your files by selecting all files and pressing Ctrl + N and Sift. The files will be named according to your order of the albums.

This name change will help you display your files in the same order, outside as well as inside the Organizer.

    Hello

When I drag and drop a large number of videos of 'Photos' in a folder from external hard drive, thumbnails are everywhere. Sometimes with a lot of different files on each other.

Is there a way to organize everything perfectly in one fell swoop. Instead of moving each one separately?

  • How can I organize photos a way where they will remain in a certain order whenever I discover the folder?

    HELP PLEASE IM GOING MENTAL! I took vacation photos on my camera and the phone I want to then put in order in a single file. However, every time I leave the folder and return in the videos have moved and the photos are back in their order of moose. I tried several times and looked for an organization of the options but no luck so far, please help {I really don't want to go by and name each file starting with a, b, c, etc.}

Batch numbering so perhaps would be worth a try:

Organize files the way you want and go to... Edition / select all.

Right-click the photo 'first' the selected (highlighted)
Group and from the menu choose... Name change.

For the first name... Enter a descriptive word for the group,
a space, and the first number

    Summer vacation (10001) .jpg

(Yes... Use parentheses and start the number with a 1)
(If you want to add a descriptive title to batch... Leave a
space after the last letter and before the first parenthesis)

Press on... Enter and Windows renames the remaining photos...

  • How to organize photos?

Idont know how to organize my photos as I am new to computers

IWant them all to be in a single folder and not a copy

    Hello

The best way to search for and display images on your computer is using Windows Photo Gallery. By default, photo gallery displays all the images and videos that are located in the folder images, but you can add other folders to photo gallery. You can search for pictures and videos by typing in the search box or by clicking tags, ratings, or dates in the Navigation pane.

Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the Start button the image of the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

  • Can the records with the same pictures are in the Organizer add? I have to start? I tried to organize photos in folders in a time better. I have to start all over again?

I made new files so I could have a better time line, but the Organizer will not let me load them. The new files contain the same images, but they are better organized.  To add pictures in the folders I have to delete those in the organizer and start again?  I feel like I got this backward little and should have organized their first. Help.

The key to understanding the difference between the Organization of your files and folders directly in your disk folders tree and by organizing with a catalogue, is that the catalogue:

-contains no image files, that links to the actual location on the disk

-stores the links in a database with organizers strict rules, which is to avoid duplicates.

One of the highlights of the databases such as those in the elements or Lightroom is that they store duplicate data. Which avoids not only of space useless, but also ensures that you're updating a file and forget its duplicates. As a result, the Organizer will prevent you from 'import', which is to 'index' your files several times. It recognizes the files into two criteria: the size of the file in kilobytes and the "date" of the shooting.

The other strength of the catalogue, it's that you can select the sort order of your files displayed: by date, name of the file, import annealing in Bell or same "custom" order in albums. This means you don't ever need to have your physical files and folders sorted by dates on your drive. Try to get a similar organisation to the date on your car in your catalog can be an unnecessary pain. Good if you choose a folder structure to date in office at the time of importation; There must be little order at this time anyway. Once your photos are cataloged, the rule is that if you want to change the structure of your file, you must do it from the Organizer itself (left panel of record). This means that you are working with already imported files (you can not import duplicates). You can organize in this folder on the same panel as if you were in Solution Explorer / finder. You can either use the 'move' menu or drag and drop of folders with their subfolders, you can move the files of images to other subfolders. Beware, there are traps in doing this, for example by trying to move a subfolder in master already a folder with the same name of subfolder...

So, ask yourself if all this work is really worth. And be patient and prudent to do this task from the file Organizer Panel.

  • Why not Lightroom organizes photos and videos is missing 'date taken' by 'date modified' instead of 'creation date '?

It always seems to be a problem with Lightroom 5. This post is one of the first results, after trying to Google this problem, and it's for LR3. I don't understand why something so basic to some photos (and video) Organization has been neglected for so long.

I tried to import and organize all my old photos and videos by date with LR5. They have been backed up and copied several times over the years, most recently on an external drive last week. Thus, each file has a 'creation date' last week. But 'change' is the date recorded.

It's not bad for pictures with a good EXIF "date taken" - but LR5 resembles the "creation date" for videos, making it completely useless to organize them into folders based on date. He puts videos I recorded in 2010 (in accordance with the "modification date") in a case 2014-12. Why.

It is not only a video problem - some pictures that I took with devices that does not record date "EXIF taken" are also filed in folders of this month even if the 'update' on them is correct as is 5 years.

How can I count on LR5 organization importing and based on the date when it is based on the files (lack of "date taken") having never been copied or backed up?

It has been at least partially fixed in LR 5.5, for images: Lightroom: the dates do not match for the missing files metadata date/time.  But I just tested import a .avi in LR 5.7 / Windows 8.1 and the date below the thumbnail in the grid has been the time of last modification of the file system, while the Date of Capture in the metadata Panel has been set at the time of importation.

I started a new topic in the Adobe official feedback forum: Lightroom: capture still inconsistent date/time for videos. Please add your vote and review on it.

  • You need to reinstall Vista and all programs, what is happening to organization photo now?

I was stupid and cleaned my registry and removed something I shouldn't... after other attempts to repair it failed, now I have to just start over with a clean reinstall of my OS (Windows Vista 32-bit).  I have a Western Digital external hard drive "My Book Essential" which has ALL my photos and if saved documents.

Because I have to reinstall after PS Elements 9 install the Vista clean, what happens when I transfer all my pictures to the computer?  They will still organize common sense in the Organizer (i.e. same subcategories, etc.)?  In other words, was the info for tags and categories written permanently to each photo and will be automatically read by the program Elements 9?

I have almost 40 000 photos that were all organized so wonderfully... I'd be devastated if I had to start over. :-(  I hope someone has some good news for me!

    Thank you!!

Just use Backup and Restore.  This Adobe document for more details see (even if it was written for PSE6, procedures remain the same):

  • How to organize photos 19 000?

    Hello

I'm organizing my files in lightroom 4.0 and my computer.

Lightroom, the way I have my pictures organized are like that. Follow the photo please!

In the folder my pictures, I have a few folders for each year. You open a year like 2011 and it opens every photo session I did. For example I went to the beach on 25 March, if a folder called March 25, fire on the beach. Inside of this file would be all my photos from the beach.

Well in lightroom, I imported all and everything appears in several folders. There is no year, all years are crammed into a single section in the module. The section of the folders under my C drive.

Its really hard to find some photos of shoots. I don't like looking through shoots of 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, when I went on a shoot yesterday, in 2012.

What is the best way to organize all of my photos in different years? How do others do that? I bought a subscription to Lynda for their video lessons and took a 5 hour course on how to organize Lightroom and the guy in the video was like 150 shots. I face to almost 20,000.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

You import right.  Fortunately, everything you have to do is click on a date and click on "View the parent folder" for each year, and you're good to go.

  • PE9 Organizer - photos of sequencing by slide show file name

I've read several discussions on the "sort by file name', but not sure that I actually saw the answer.  When I bring photos in the Organizer in PE9, I can't find a way to organize the photos in the slide show by filename.  Did I miss something like this seems to be quite fundamental to make a slideshow.

My apologies - I found, I CAN create a slideshow of PRE9 without using Organizer.  Trying now - thanks for your comments.

  • Organize photos in slide shows

Set up a slide show and want a few photos show two on a page, rather than as simple - if there's a way to do it manually?

Pictures has created some as two on a page, but I want more pages like that.

    Thank you very much

No, it is not possible in Photos.  If you want more photos-by-side in a slide show, you must try to find a theme of slideshow with more models for several pictures. The sequence of templates for the slide is fixed and fully automatic.  You can move around slides between the models, but the sequence of patterns is fixed.

Consider making the slideshow in Keynote instead.

  • Organize photos problems

I have photos of the different versions of iPhoto, Picasa and Kodak EasyShare scattered on my main drive and 4 external drives. When I went all together in one place I just disorder. It seems that my Mac (OS Mavericks) cannot handle large masses of photos. It can transfer small batches but I tried Lightroom, Picasa, ACDSee and some others, and they all start and then choke. Finally, I used the Finder to search for all jpg files and then I could only drag small batches. It would take much time to spend it.

I was thinking something like rsync could cover all of my hard drives and do drink

t I think that will transfer only a whole folder not many files in many different places? I'm not good at the terminal commands.

    Any help out there?

For sure the issue is not the operating system - Maverick can handle a large number of photos very well - since you do not inform my guess is the lack of free disk space

Is OS X 10.9.5 as you say correct for your OS? What version of iPhoto? It should be 9.5.1

How much free disk space you have on your hard drive?
