OS El Capitan - System Extensions

Hello!

I'm looking for an answer to my question before submitting this issue to the community, but it ended up that I couldn't find a definitive solution to the problem.

Basically, Extensions my Macbook Dungeon system in endangered and it becomes very annoying per hour. I can see that especially when I double click on a link or a text on a web page, a document, an image, in short everything that can be typed double! Then the colorful circle begin to turn and takes several seconds before something happen or double menu tap appear. When that happens I check my system extensions and, of course, they are gone! (Check the attached photos).

Now I found some instructions on how to restore the extension of networks (it is essentially a line instructions to run in "Terminal" and it's works as a temporary solution.) But the problem comes again and again after sometimes.

Can someone help me solve this very annoying problem permanently?

Thank you and best regards,

Fabrizio

  • El Capitan system preferences grayed out

Hi, I had a MacBook Air (11 inch, early 2014) Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.2. About a month or two before, my friend run pranked me and put a profile on my computer (the profiles that are in system preferences) and it grayed out some of my preference (Extensions, network, share, and profiles). I tried to remove him, but he repeated to me that he does not know how. I tried to do the thing when you hit NSPrefPaneGroups.xml, but because I'm under El Capitan, I am not able to delete this file because it's a file system or something else. Is there a way to solve this? Help, please!

Because the computer has been manipulated by a person with unknown intentions, the only course of action is to delete the internal drive, reinstall OS X and only restore your documents from a backup. You then need to install any other software support original or fresh downloads. That's what I recommend.

If you just want to remove the malicious profile and take your chances that nothing else has been done, see below.

Back up all data before proceeding.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Please triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select:

    sudo profile -d

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination. I tested these instructions only with the Safari browser. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting.

You will be asked for your login password. Nothing displayed when you type. Type carefully, and then press return. If you do not have a password, you will need to configure one before you can run the command. You can get a warning to be careful. Confirm. You don't need to display the warning.

If you see a message that your user name "is not in the sudoers file", then you have not logged as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.

Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal. Test.

PS I do not understand why update I need to use the Appstore not system updated?

Sierra is a more recent revision of Mac OS X. As an upgrade to the full version, it will not appear in the tab updated; It also has higher than El Capitan system requirements.

  • How to check what extension program / crashes my iMac?

I finally got my iMac fixed enough that it starts up fine, but I'm still having a problem with the iMac crashing after start-up.

I mentioned that after you install a printer, it crashed when I hit print on demand, the iMac has crashed (Gardner up, couldn't move, have to force out)

I think that is an extension has been altered (because I can start it up with extensions off the coast), or the printer get a glimpse when I hit print the first time trying to resume at startup. As I said, I can start it upward with extensions, then, how can I check what is the question?

The other way I can get to not plant is in the Mac OS X startup 10.0.3, which I didn't know was already installed on the iMac, so it's certainly a problem with OS 9 standard getting started.

Mac OS 9, you use the Manager of Extensions to turn system extensions, up to you to determine one (or more) that is causing the problem.  If you think that it is related to a printer driver, disable the one you recently installed.

Extensions Manager is accessible from the menu bar, Apple menu-> Control Panel-> Manager of Extensions

  • I lost all of my extensions. In addition, my browser is weird.

My browser has lost all its extensions on all of the user accounts on my computer. What is strange however is that on a single account, Facebook Messenger still shows up next to the search bar, but does not appear in the Add-ons Manager, so I can't really turn it off or remove it. Also, my tab modules a DownnSave suspicious 5.2 and 4.6 IIsave I don't remember installing.

Suddenly, a Delta Search tab which I don't remember installing took the empty tabs. As the Facebook Messenger extension, she also does not appear in the add-on Manager.

All these problems always happen when I restart Firefox without addons and even after I deleted the files extensions.*, compatibility.ini and add - ons.sqlite in the profile folders.

I have considered using the reset in the Troubleshooting tab option, but that would remove all my addons, if I'm not mistaken. Is - this here anyway to solve the above problems without having to set my browser.

Could you start by checking Control Panel, uninstalling an unwanted program for recently installed may have been bundled with one of your downloads? I recommend clicking on the column heading "installed on" to translate the most recent articles at the top and connect the dots of the different beams.

You may also make a scrub set strong malware. This article lists the tools, Firefox users have found useful: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware.

Regarding reset, your plugins will survive the process, as well as all of the installed system extensions. The Add-ons you will lose are installed extensions directly in this Firefox profile.

Furthermore, in the case where Firefox made an automatic reset, could check old data of Firefox for desktop to a folder?

    Hello

Restore OS X using OS X Recovery.

  • New MacBook has just started to freeze...

and I'm on El Capitan 10.11.14 happens in Chrome and pictures x 3 in 10 minutes. I see this comment everywhere now and all use this version of El Capitan and all programs and different browsers. There must be a bug here and it needs to be fixed right now. I had to reboot now 4 x in the last hour. This is not why we buy Macs.

The latest version of El Capitan is indeed 10.11.4.  First run disk utility.  Select the startup disk, not the volume indented under the drive in the disk utility sidebar, and then click first aid to the right.  If there are no errors reported, select the volume (usually called Macintosh HD) back under the drive in the disk utility sidebar, and then click first aid.  The second check is the most important, which is an indicator of alteration of the data on your boot drive.

In addition, start up the Mac in Safe Mode.  This corrects the other types of errors (at startup) and starts the Mac without loading third-party system extensions.  And the third-party background processes that auto-start when you connect also do not operate in Safe Mode.  Third-party software can cause system instability.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

Most applications need to run in Safe Mode, even if the overall performance of the system will be slower.  The "freeze" problem still there?  If this isn't the case, you will need to investigate the possible causes through a process of elimination.

If the startup disk is close to satiety, which can cause problems.  In the Finder (or on the desktop), then right-click on the icon of your startup disk and select information.  You have enough space free available?

  • Photos does not recognize one of my devices, please help.

None of my cameras, my iPhone, iPad and even an SD card into the slot are recognized as devices by Photos, iPhotos or Image Capture. Have you tried different USB ports, different cables, all software, firmware, etc. is up to date.  Image capture also does not recognize my scanner.  They all used to work fine, now, they do not.  I have a Mac mini end of 2014 with El Capitan version 10.11.4.  Believe, that was the last time everything worked fine before El Capitan.

Devices are not at all in applications or only applications simply cannot open, when you connect a device?

If the problem is, that the applications do not open, but the devices display, try this command in Terminal:

    • Photos of quit smoking and unplug any camera.
    • Open a Terminal and paste this command and press return:

default - currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug - bool NO

    • Restart the Mac. It is not necessary, but it worked for me after the reboot.

If the devices don't show at all, you may have installed system extensions that interfere.  Give it a try.  Restart your Mac in Mode without failure. Then, connect a camera or card.  Image Capture sees the devices safe?
