Our computer goes to sleep while I use it. Sometimes, every minute or so. What is going on?

It allows to close (as in standby mode) when I travelled and stayed in a hotel but now he does at home.  When I turn on the computer, it starts to enter the mode "sleep" and I hit the space bar and he comes back to the top in the same place, I've been.  Then after a few seconds, he repeats the cycle and continues to do this for a long time.  What could be the cause for it?

Is it safe to leave your Mac to sleep while not using it?

Of course, it is safe. Sleep is the best way to let your Mac if you use in a short period of time (process of awakening is much faster but to turn on your Mac, whenever you want to use it), and your Mac also consumes very little power in this mode. However, it is better to turn off your Mac if you are not going to use it for a long time.

To secure your Mac by others, I suggest you to set up your Mac to request your password after waking up from his sleep. You can do System Preferences-> Security & privacy-> general-> 'ask the password... ».

    original title: Auto Adjust

    Hello.

Whenever we start to use our computer, the screen goes black and the message 'Auto adjust is in Prgress'. Then, all of our screen is small and all the icons and pages are smaller than before.

I tried restoring the system that works and that gets our screen back to normal but every day that this Auto setting is coming and we can't seem to stop it.

Any help would be appreciated... Thank you

    Try this:

Go to the Web site of the manufacturer of your laptop computer-graphics/computer card > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Then:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

    See you soon.

    Hello

Open windows control panel, open personalization, click on the link to screensaver at the bottom right and in the next window, set the time in the area of 'Wait' for once you want before the screen saver appears, and click on apply. Or if you never get the logon screen, remove the check mark next to of "on resume, display the login page»  Click on apply to save the changes.

Then open windows control panel again and click on Power Options, click Change plan settings next to your current power plan selected in the next window, set the time using the drop-down list next to "Turn wide Display" to a more acceptable level and then click on save changes.

Note:  Set in the Options menu of food to be slightly longer than the time set in the Menu of the screen saver or you will never see your screen saver start.

  • When my computer goes into sleep mode, I have to press the power button to turn it back on.

When my computer goes into sleep mode, I have to press the power button to turn it back on.  I used only having to press a key on the keyboard.

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem, as if it was before?

Well, on the theory that your computer is awkward, try to change the settings to another thing and OK your way out the control panel.  Then go back and put them in the way they were and OK your way out.  Occasionally, it will reset the internal parameters and things can return to normal.

  • My Win 7 Pro x 64 computer goes to screen connection in use

I tried to read a Wiki article and all the two minutes, the computer goes to the login screen.

(It just does the same thing while writing this!)

I have disabled all functions, I certainly did not do and searched through all the power options advanced without success in energy saving.

All my computers are using the same OS and none of them have ever behaved in this way.

I don't understand this behavior at all as it's not playing music, videos or games.

It just happens, so far, while I'm reading and trying to write any kind of article on a Web site.

    Thanks for your quick response!

I used a timer and found that this event took place exactly 55 seconds after any mouse or keyboard.

Then I searched through my programs installed for what may be the cause of the problem. Nada.

Then, I opened the Task Manager and looked for something unusual and found something.

Intel Watchdog Timer driver. I had never heard of him, so I googled and it sounded as if she may be the culprit.

I then deleted, set the timer and waited. And waited.

My computer is no longer automatically goes back to the login page when I'm not using any input device.

I forgot to say that I built this computer Sunday afternoon, it was about 5 days since she 1st went online.

I've archived your response for later use, as I'll certainly use it at another time.

I'll follow your advice right now to make sure that it is quite a thing.

    Thank you for your help.

  • My computer will not sleep, the display shuts off for a while but the fan still works and the keyboard lights stay on, and then eventually he dies just

Imen quite so much as the title, when I try to put my computer to sleep the screen turns off but the computer is still running. My computer is a HP pavilion dv6 is a little more than 3 years. He used to do whenever a while, but now it's every time I try to pause. I'll close the top cover, but the fan still works, the hp on the lid logo light remains lit, and if I reopen it cover the power light is always on and the lights on the keyboard caps lock and wireless keys. The same actions occur when I try to put it to sleep manually (from the start menu). It does not at all I have to do another that now hold power, but even when I do nothing, it will stay here like this for awhile and then just turn off completely.

When it starts up, it gives me the options to start in safe mode or start normally, and when I am connected and it gives me the "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown", I see that there is a minidump file in windows that has something to do with it. I tried to search for the file and the problem together, and then each separately, but nothing I've seen described really my problem, so I thought I should just ask on my problem.

I read what made other people, changing advanced power settings, changing the media settings, etc. and did those things, but to no avail. It's not a huge deal, because I can just turn off my computer whenever I'm done with it for now, but I don't know if it's a bad omen for the future of my poor computer. So if someone could give me a hand with this point in mind, I'd be very happy. Let me know if provide more details (OS, processor, my favorite color, social security number, etc.) that would make it easier to solve. Thank you
Also, either by the way, if this is in the wrong forum topic, please let me know.

If you use a wireless keyboard or mouse to your computer, these items can keep your computer enter standby mode automatically because they constantly send a signal to the system, thus preventing downtime. An optical mouse (that changes color) causing a similar problem.
