Reuse and recycling program will give you just a gift card from Apple for trading in your old device. The amount given online is only an expected value, but they check it and give you a final value. With the water damage, the value will be much less.

  You cannot discuss or talk on the phone with a professional Acer support if your SNID is listed as "out of warranty". You can will not receive a 3rd party that will help you for a fee. (very frustrating)

  After several attempts, I finally found someone with the 3rd party provider who was able to fix the status 'out of warranty '. The first tests I was told that they could not help me with the inaccurate warranty status because they do not work for Acer.

  I have a 6830 who had a problem with printhead. I use the HP system failures and offered to repalce the printer HP as it was for 11 months in a 12 month warranty. I received the replacement printer which was a unit REFURBUSHED. I installed the replacement unit and it worked for about 1 week. At this point, I have a scanner error making the device unusable. At this point, I'm now outside the guarantee the guarantee is related to the original printer. I still go through the online troubleshooting system. He rejected me after entering new serial number to be outside the warranty period, which is still based on the original unit.

  A little, I have a problem with this strategy. Not only has HP me sent a unit refurbished, but it was not properly fixed at HP.  Now, I can't find a phone number to speak with a representative to see what they have to offer and to feel, they hide behind their support online self-service system.

  One has a similar experience? How it was resolved. What is your feeling on this issue. Any with any suggestion or solution please offer! Thanks in advance.

• The urge to Ultrabook 6 problem with recovery after failure of hard drive (out of warranty)

  Please can someone tell me if it is true that to use HP factory recovery disks, hardware must be exactly the same as when purchased.

  After hours wasted trying to get the recovery disks to work, I find myself with the same "failed to retrieve @ screen and some unnecessary lines of code."

  In reading the various posts, it seems that I have a replacement for HP HARD drive of the same type that came with the computer. If this is the case, then the links on the support pages should say this before I have pay £39 for a set of disks.

  For me, a hard drive is a hard drive. I replaced a drive fried (1 month out of warranty expires) with a good brand replacement, but larger. Disks won't load.

  However, I could load W7 form an iso file and get that to work. I need the recovery because I do not know how to configure raid which allows the QuickStart on this laptop, and I don't have the time or no further inclination to make it work.

  Partly a rant, sorry, but I'm wrong, and is there a solution?

  I have seen others with this problem. Unfortunately, the only working solution, I remember the top was where a guy removed the player cache Msata, ran recovery then reinstalled.

  On a single charge of Win 7 I think you could install the Intel Quick Start software, then use it to activate the quick start. I have more a laptop Win 7 with Msata to test, but I remember the software could be opened from the icon beside the system clock and used to toggle the quick start.

  I bought my 2408WFP for photographic work. About 2 years ago, he developed a vertical column of bright green pixels to the right, which disappears once it gets warmer.  Dell support told me that I was out of luck because it was out of warranty. Fortunately, I was able to live with the scratches, because I know ultimately it will go away, and it is somewhat useful, as it tells me when the monitor has reached its working temperature. It's the most expensive monitor that I have ever bought and I expect it to last more than five years. I agree with comments elsewhere on this forum about "eventually out electronics. There are no moving parts in this device, which means that the snow is due to one or more defective components. The absence of an official repair center is also a real problem for me, and the replacement, the U2413, was AU $150 more than the 2408. Unfortunately, the Dell is only 24 "monitor with the support of the color gamut Adobe RGB that I can afford, but I hate the idea of paying that kind of money when I already have what should be a functional monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get assistance from Dell in order to minimize the cost of replacement?

  I bought a H5630 projector in 2010. Many pixels have start blocking in the last 2 weeks (maybe a hundred). Its caused by stuck mirror, something to do with being deffective DMD chips.

  Fleas DMD guarantee is suppose to be ok, the projector itself is not. How can I set a repair (im willing to pay for it) and get details about it if the warranty is voided. Web site always speak of 'use out of warranty support' when support will always lead to a wall saying ' guarantee is zero we can do anything "." This isn't what I call simple tech support...

  But anyway, I just want to ask acer for a price to fix (and bulb changed at the same time if possible).

  OK basically I looked again, went through the website and finally received an email, got on the phone here and here is the solution:

  -Appeal to their technical support

  -To change a DMD thing or anything like that, they charge a fee of like $ 208 to change it... in itself this isn't really a good price, but the trick is if you change the DMD and the bulb of the lamp (must be dead) then its... $ 208, not to say im just going to wait for the die of the lamp as its good enough for the total.

  Guy on the phone was helpful, thought I'd share the solution I finally get their hands on it.

  You can order a recovery disc of HP for around $ 16. The game will reinstall Windows and all original drivers & software on the laptop.
