Outdated browser

I get an error message that I use an outdated browser.  I'm running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and installed Safari 9.1.1.  I have to manually change the user agent whenever I go online to avoid the message.  The user agent as my machine as default is, Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel... 4.0.4 Safari/531.21.10 FBSMTWB.  I have to manually select the 9.1.1 user agent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_0) AppleWebKit/601.6.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/9.1.1 Safari/601.6.17.  Efforts to just reset the user agent have been fruitless.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination. I tested these instructions only with Safari. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting.

Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal. Test.

  • outdated browser chrome

Bought a media network NSZ GS7 player earlier this year. Has stopped working several months that the chrome browser (and probably the flashplayer from adobe) is obsolete.  According to sony, this can only be corrected when they update the firmware of the product.  The last update of the firmware was early April. Nobody seems to know when or if this will be fixed.

How is that acceptable behaviour by Sony?  Why wouldn't Sony immediately respond to Chrome and Adobe updates?

Adobe Flash player is integrated directly in the browser Chrome Google and active by default. It is not possible to update the latest version of Adobe Flash player used by the Google Chrome browser.

What problem are you having with the player right now?

  • cannot sync my email, it says to use an updated browser that I did, but still cannot get it to sync

what I put up a new e-mail account, because I thought that I could sync it, but I connect to my account and it says: not verified email account, so I check and send it me email account on internet explore, and when I open and try to verify the account he said I use an outdated browser. My Firefox browser is the most recent but I can't sync my email so I still keep internet explore just to check my email on the computer. Am I crazy or I do something wrong?

I do not understand the synchronization of your e-mail account.

First of all, neither Firefox nor IE will make 'e-mail. But they both will allow you to access your e-mail via a Web webmail site.

In order for Firefox to check your configuration of the synchronization, you need to access the e-mail that Mozilla sends you to activate an account in Firefox when using Firefox. Then when reading this email in Firefox and click on the activation link in the email. You can try copy'n "paste from IE [and your webmail] in Firefox and see which would work, but it has not worked for me, a few years ago, when I tried with an older version of Firefox and version 1.1 of the previous synchronization."

  • The point on the compatibility of the browser with HTML5 video and mp4s?

I currently have a mp4 video on my site, and the video is currently hosted by YouTube. But I would like to move it to our web server using the HTML5 video element. So far, pretty simple:

    < div id = "videodiv" >

    < src = "videos/video my_video.mp4" control width = '100% ' > < / video > "

    < / div >

What I read, I was ready to provide alternative (webm and ogg) formats, but I tested it with Firefox, Chrome and IE10, and they seem to all work. I do not have to provide three versions of the video, because it is a precursor to a 8 added more videos to our Web site. The browser world all got on board with mp4 now, or do I always have to provide alternatives?

    Thank you

All modern browsers now support MP4.  Not so a few years ago. So we used relief WEBM and OGG.

2 days ago, I could see the site Web of CDC...

I can view the site without any problems, so I don't think it's to oppose the version of Firefox. This forum is picking up your User Agent string and that seems to be correct - something which causes problems on some sites when it is incorrect.

Please try the alternative of cache for this site using the shortcut key Ctrl + F5, while, on this site and also erase cookies from this site.

It seems strange that they warn on the display of the site with an outdated browser. They offer a version of the site insecurity themselves. It's not like you're interacting with the site and pay money or connect.

  • Why doesn't Youtube Bandcamp and same link from Firefox's own comments, recognize that I indeed use the latest version of Firefox?

I automatically update my Firefox, but some Internet sites say resolutely I use an "outdated browser", such as Youtube, Myspace, Bandcamp and even (I just discovered) Feedback of Firefox own link. They make an assumption based on the fact that I still use Windows XP, or is there something - a framework, perhaps - that I can adjust? Troubleshooting info I pasted below, it looks like the line "User Agent" is the problem. But what I do about it?

Try resetting your user agent string.

Type of topic: config in the address bar and press to enter. Accept the warning message that appears, this will take you to a list of preferences.

In the top search box, type general.useragent

Right-click on each entry that appears and select Reset, this will set the value to the default value. If it is already set to the default value reset option will be grayed out.

Restart Firefox and it should properly identify your version of Firefox.
