  Hello.  I loaded PSE8 earlier this year and used a few times with success.  I have not used for some time and now may not seem to access, is no longer an icon on my computer to start.  There are files on the hard drive (sorry I not am not very computer savvy) and there is a folder called "Photoelementsfileagent.exe" but if I click on that it brings up a black box with a text that says "Adobe Active File Monitor Service started.  I had an idea that I could load the disc again and maybe it would repair all that seems to have disappeared, but it took me down the road to uninstall the program.  I stopped because I can't access the program to disable everything first.  Now I'm stuck.  I can't open the program to turn it off, and I don't know what else I can do to run what is clearly already loaded on my computer.  I hope that makes sense for someone who can help out me!  Thanks a lot in advance.

  You don't need to insist on the deactivation of this situation. Activation is related to your hardware, so if you uninstall / reinstall on the same drive, you should be good, even without turning off, because you must always show as enabled on this computer, then you do not use your activation others.
