Outlook express 6.0 jumps above emails

I am running Windows XP, IE 8, and Outlook Express 6.0.

I browse my emails, I find that some are ignored and remain in my Inbox. If I delete an email, the following will sometimes automatically to the folder to be deleted before the consultation. So, I have to check my Inbox and delete a folder to see what I missed after each session.

I don't know why this is happening. Any suggestions? Can I safely re - install OE6? Who would solve the problem?

Thanks for any advice.

Te best thing to do is to try a new identity.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

General precautions for Outlook Express

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • Outlook Express main identity and Comcast email server

I use Outlook Express (Internet Explorer 8) in Windows XP Pro.  A year and half ago my main identity ceased to be able to access the new emails through my Comcast email server account, but my other two (not main) identities Comcast can download all of their new emails.  I just get a message "unknown error", said that the main identity account cannot access the server.  PS. I can send emails, but I can't receive them.  I tried to look at all the POP and SMTP elements and they do not seem to be wrong Comcast took me through several steps but said the probel in my OExpress program and they were no help at all after that.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Tip: Create an identity third to replace the main identity. Import messages and address book and if it works well, remove the main identity.

Make sure that the SMTP port is set to 587 and my server requires authentication is enabled. (Many Comcast Tech don't even know it).

How can I set up/configure Outlook Express, Windows Mail & Windows Live Mail to E-mail from Comcast?

  • How can I stop Outlook Express to import all my emails?

Twice now when I open outlook express, that I very, very rarely use - my emails go to Tiscali (now TalkTalk) which is my ISP - and outlook express has imported all of my emails from my Tiscali email account;   is the first time about 2 years ago and it imported all of them, about 360 emails and yesterday when I opened outlook express it imported all of them once again, 548 emails. It took me sending hours back to my account email Tiscali, one by one.
I looked at the settings in outlook express and can not find out why he did and want to disable it will never happen.
    CVan anyone help me?

All you need to do is, in OE: tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: leave a copy of messages on the server.

  • Outlook Express 6 - I receive several emails duplicated - some as much as 5 times. other emails are received at once in my Inbox in?

My box often takes a long time to receive e-mails, Registrant receiving 1 of 5.  So when they finally come thrus, I could have 3 exact same emails from the same sender and other 2 separate emails from different senders.  Often, I get a message that says: there is a mistake and I want to wait until I click on Yes, and possibly e-mail messages are received.

Tools | Options | In general. What is: search for new messages every X minutes planned? If it's a short period of time and the previous download does not complete, it will start all over again. Increase the amount of time and see if that helps.

  • Outlook Express cannot send and receive emails and cannot sync to the phone.

    Hello

I'm a Microsoft Online Customer Service, which contacts on behalf of my client. My client has problem with Outlook Express, which cannot send and receive emails, and cannot sync to the phone. He receives this error message below:

The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please check that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D

I'm not sure of the sync with the phone number, but the account settings are not yet near. SMTP is not a host name or a server name. You must find the correct POP3 server settings.

  • My Outlook Express is not send my emails or have the recoil of the false failure error messages... Who can help me?

Spent many hours on the phone with technical support of at & t reset my email ID and password.  My mail to yahoo at & t sending and reception, but the same message generates a Mailer Daemon failure notice when sent from Outlook Express for XP. at & t said that there is a Microsoft bug that they cannot solve. Who can help me to solve this problem that just started last night after years of functioning? Please contact me at * address email is removed from the privacy *. Thank you.

Why always a message in Oulook Express that the recipient of this message is not digitally signed, and then another one saying unencrypted and I click send anyway. How can I remove all this and just be able to send directly to who I want? When Outlook is genrating and alert error there are no detaisl provided on the error.

Start over.  First eliminate interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  After that go to file | Identities and editing and new identity.  Set up your e-mail account to the$ T, and then use the settings they specify on their website for OE and also told you to support.  (OE can connect and send to THE$ T, there is therefore no clear 'bug' with OE towards them).  See if it works then.

  • Outlook express is automatically down my emails.

When you enter in Outlook Express to view emails, it seems that precedent are automatically removed even if I didn't manually. They get dumped into the trash and if I look they just clear the file. If I do not open new e-mail messages they stay until the next time that I go into Outlook Express and they disappear from the list.

Are they really moved to the deleted items, IT's not a trash folder? Alternatively, they apparently just disappeared? If the latter, go to view | Current view and make sure that show all Messages is checked and nothing else.

  • After Outlook Express compacting on request, all emails before March 2010 had disappeared.

    Dear Sir.

2011-05-30, when I used e-mail on the Microsoft Outlook Express check, asked me to compact the emails in order to free more space.  I have it done, but all the email before March 2011 were missing.  I don't know how to get / find them.

Help, please.  My email address if * address email is removed from the privacy * or * address email is removed from the privacy *.

I guess that you don't like my advice after using OE for 12 years, but if you have no copies of your files dbx bak in the trash, then:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode has the best chance to recover messages.
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

There is no other tool that can extract messages from a dbx file that was a clean rag.

  • Outlook express non-stop download previous emails

I had a hard disk crash. replaced it, reinstalled XP and re-setup outlook express. Progressed it program to download all previous messages I thought I was lost, but has not stopped. I have 13000 more emails in triplicate. How to stop this thing. I found the file in the system and delete the file "Inbox" to allow him to re-download I wouldn't double and triple, but it does still hope. Help!

    To add to Steve's comments:

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - uncheck: leave a copy of messages on the server.

In tools | Options | General, uncheck check for messages at startup and to pass messages every X minutes.

Close an open OE and do the manual send/receive. I think that OE starts to poll for new messages before the previous download is complete.

Once this is done, a double-check meanings, bit I would not mark messages any sooner than 5 minutes, 10 would be better.

If you need to double check leave a copy on the server, on arrival of the lease to remove after XX days.
