Outlook Express 6 can not do mail or open address book

I have problems with Outlook express 6. Can I receive and read mail, but it won't let me reply or send a new e-mail. I can't open my address book either. I want to reinstall Outlook express 6, but cannot find anywhere to download. Need help again

Then you have no DWORD named UseOutlook. Fix? In this case, check all of the following conditions. Don't ignore all the elements that are on older versions of OE. They are still topical.

-----------------------------------

Something is screwed up with your address book.

It could be several specific problems, which include:
-corrupted WAB file
-damaged or incompatible DLL files for the addressbook
-have OE set to use the Outlook98 / 2000 + contacts instead of the WAB
folder and there is something wrong at the end of Outlook

Last night my operating system not found a set file and reloaded among other Outlook express things - is it possible to recover the address book, folders and emails?

    original title: Outlook Express problem

    Hi John,.

Try to locate your data from outlook express:

    Click on start-> Run & paste-> %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities

You will see the folders as {xxxxxx-xxxx-xxx-xx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} click-> Microsoft-> Outlook Express, you should be able to locate the DBX files, these are the outlook database files. Ideally, you should see inbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbx... check the size of the file.

Now to get it back on outlook express, open outlook express-> click on tools-> Options-> maintenance-> the storage location.

Click on change location, and then select the location that you have your data in.

For the address book, see: click Start-> Run and paste the following:

    %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

Address book with wab extension, these should reflect your Outlook Express user name.

    I hope this helps.

  • I get an error (0x800C0133) message when opening outlook express and can not receive emails

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.homeloansokc.com', server: 'mail.homeloansokc.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800C0133 the previous message is the complete error message I get when trying to open Outlook Express.  I can send but cannot receive mail.  The box pop up you will receiver 1 of 68 messages but stops before it downloads all messages and displays the error message.

    Error number: 0x800C0133 = a corrupt Inbox.

Move any message you want to save to a local folder that you create. Then, remove the problem of Inbox as follows.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the box of Inbox.dbx and delete it. Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  • I have 3 messages blocked in outlook express I can not delete. Someone said it could be an internal pointer do not know what it is?

Outlook Express has 3 messages which cannot be removed any suggestions?

Yes.  This means that the sent items folder is corrupted.  You can move all the messages of the items sent to a user created folder.  Then close OE and delete the file sent items.dbx and OE will create then a new, a void, but you might have other file corruption, so establishing a new identity is a better long-term solution.  Make sure that you back up messages, and file corruption is the prelude to a loss of message, what often happens in complete OE.

  • Outlook - can not see contacts in the address book.

I lost the address book in Outlook (Office 2007) when I migrated from Vista to Windows 7, I use Outlook as my e-mail program. I checked that the address book is enabled but I can't select the check in contacts in the properties box that says "show this folder as an e-mail address book", it is grayed out. I also tried adding an entry in the address book, and he came with a message to add a PAB file to your profile in the account settings. I've added as a PAB file under the data files - still does not work.

See the following articles on how to view the address book in Outlook 2007 and check if that helps:

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not see contacts in the address book after you synchronize with PocketMac

Model 8830. Macintosh OS 10.5.8. Latest version of PocketMac SYncManager 1.2 (1.4).

Contacts have been working well. I have sync'd with PocketMac by ticking the peripheral crush, and first of all, I had a lot of duplicate addresses. Second sync seemed to delete ALL my contacts, but by checking the properties of the address book, it shows the 706 entries (twice what a book Mac address

    .)

Nothing not done, I ran twice SyncClean and 'Reset all devices to the first SYnc State'. I have re-started the Mac and Blackberry several times.

    What to do next?

I deleted all my data via the Options > Security Options > then wipe Handheld. Necessary for the re-registration

the BB with the carrier and then by downloading my backed up address book & calendar

Re-creation of speed dials, themes, ringtones, etc., but it cures the problem of address book.

My calendar now has 3 copies of holiday in the United States, but I can live with that.

I find it interesting that nowhere on the site Web Blackberry or PocketMac is there any

clue on how to clean a calendar book or address munged. Maybe the next

BlackBerry Desktop Manager will fix this problem.

  • Outlook Express 6 can not find Excel files.

original title: OE 6 cannot find the Excel .xlsx files

OE 6 cannot find files saved Excel w / extension .xlsx.  When I want to attach an Excel file done w / Excel 2007, OE 6 cannot find the folder that the file is in the file itself.   Previously, when I was with Excel 2003, it was no problem.

The files appear when I go to start, Explore and search the files in the folder in which I stored.  They are in a folder germaine thereon, as well as in Excel.

When I search the folder and files using Start, explores, and goes where the file is stored, I can use the send to:, e-mail, send it to someone in this way, but I can't access the file of OE, then clicking on join.  The folder and the file are simply not.

I don't know if this will help, but it can't hurt.
