• Dreamweaver does not save the password and FTP user

  Even if I check the option Save when you enter the FTP user id and password when I close dreamweaver cs4 and reopen it, I need to enter again. What preferences file controls this setting?   I had the same problem for months after re-installing CS4 Master Collection on Mac and just upgraded to CS5 and find the same thing before you come across the idea to do a repair of Keychain. This alone does not work, but after I had deleted manually everything to do with Adobe Keychain - same Macromedia, which was always there - I am relieved to say that DW is now working properly once again and not delete remote remote login/password. Oh, what happiness! I never found out why people say DW ftp is rubbish or use other applications for ftp is less hassle. I use anarchy (and others) as an alternative or for when I don't want to even open DW. I hope you have luck, too

• Passwords can be saved in version 22. has worked before the upgrade. I'm NOT under 'Private Viewing'. Just, it does NOT save the password.

  The drop-down list "for"save passwords is NOT dimmed. By clicking on the "Save password box does NOTHING. I am running Windows XP SP3. The previous version (21) worked well. 223 version doesn't allow passwords to be saved. I'm NOT in private view. The ""Remember passwords for sites"box under Tools / Options / Security is verified." "remember history" shows on Tools / Options / Privacy. As I said: Save password no longer works with version 22. He has worked on version 21. No parameters have been made with this upgrade. I'm on another computer that has NO 22 on that version. I refuse to upgrade this computer.

  Here's what works:

  1. backup / export 'Bookmarks' in HTML

        ( I actually imported them into Internet Explorer)
  

  2. go in Control Panel.

  3. click on "Add or remove programs and Windows components.

  4, delete Mozilla Firefox and all other programs.

      It will take some time to find anything related to
      Firefox  and remove it.  Do this part for sure.
  

  5. download a new version of Mozilla Firefox.

  6. install and run this new clean install.

  7 import the backup html of your bookmarks.

  Remove all traces of the program and all the old components seems to solve this problem. Whenever a 'new' version comes out I'm going to do this and save me from the pain... Now to try it on one of the other computers in the office...

• Function 'Remember password' in Outlook Express does not work

  By connecting to Outlook Express I always type my password of account and I want to remove this step.  Measures already taken is delete and re - configure the account with tools - accounts - server - properties.  I contacted Optus and Microsoft Outlook that have tried to solve this problem but without success.  I am now learning to use this forum to get the problem solved.

  Who is your mail server? Usually, what is after the @ in your address. Windows is not a host name, account or server.

  Do you hear the names and passwords in the password manager or do you mean that you are connected is no longer on to (remember to) Web sites after the closing and restarting Firefox?
  
  There is a difference between remembering the name and the password in the password manager and a check box "remember me" on a web page.
  
  The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and which is sent to the server.

  out of memory?  a lot of memory!

  Go to file | Identities and setup a new identity.  Then when it works very well, use a file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.  This gives a basis for new and incompetent messages and should fix things.

  If Bruce's response does not help, then move all the dbx files in the message a directory of storage for OE will create a new message store.  Then see if that solves the problem.  If this is the case you can use the file | Import | Messages to get from the directory to which you move them.
