Original title: extended error code = Oxfof4
I have a couple of different symptoms. My laptop acts like it doesn't even have wireless capabilities although the exact model the same sitting next to her was a strong wireless signal (I still had internet capability on this laptop also). In addition, my windows update will not be installed. I checked "Event Viewer" in system tools and have all sorts of errors. Error service Control Manager, "Warning b57w2k", code error Windows Update Agent and more. Still, the laptop doesn't move and accesses files, but no internet. I scanned with AVG and Malwarebytes 0 infection. Uugh! Any suggestions?
Many laptops have a switch that turns on or off the wireless radio. This can be a physical switch somewhere on the laptop or a combination of the Fn key and one of the F keys. Read the user manual for the laptop for more details.
The warning includes "b57w2k" seems to be linked to a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller (not wireless, wired). You can click the copy (just below the up/down arrows) on the property sheet for the event and paste the content in your next post here.
In general, the report that you have 'all kinds of errors' in Event Viewer is not very useful. We do not understand what you're watching.

You have Microsoft Office on your computer?
I had the same problem of automatic updates now download and install this exact update and fails every time. I think that the reason why it's a failure, it's that I have Microsoft Office on my computer, so it cannot update what either.

automatic security patches/updates will not be installed
I have several updates automatic safety that will not be installed. I tried to intall them separately and even disabled my firewall, but they won't install always. I'm having problems to open my mail in Hotmail as well and have tried all of the fixes suggested in the success of wihout forums. These two problems may be related? I have installed Mcafee and it's date-said I have no viruses. Can anyone help?
Hello
· What are the security updates that you are trying to install?
· What is the error message or error code you receive when you try to install the updates, and also when you try to open a mail?
· Do you remember all the recent changes on the computer before the show?
The question doesn't seem to be intertwined.
Search for the installation error code that your computer has saved when the Windows update installation failed. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click all programs and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.
(c) in the status column of this window, find the failed to install update and then click on the red X.
(d) a new window opens that displays the installation error code.

kb2539636 security update will not download/install automatically
Download Vista security
I have a laptop with vista family premium, sp2, 32-bit windows. I need to download kb2539636 security update. It will not download/install automatically. The MS website shows three different files for this download. They are: a 64 x, an IAH64x, an x 86. Since I was a 32-bit system, no sounds just. Which one should I download?Hi Ranchman,
x 86 is commonly used instead of 32-bit (and no, I don't know why)-if it's one you need for a 32-bit system. I looked up the update here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2539636. Then I went to http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=27017 and I think that what you want is NDP40-KB2539636 - x 86 .exe.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.

Update Windows on Windows 7 remains at 0%. Updates will not be installed.
Windows 7 update does not install updates. It is said there are 35 updates installed. The Update window remains at 0% for hours. I tried to FixIt - no result. I checked, that is to say, that everything is as it should be. This computer is a system that adjusts only once a month. Should I do a clean boot? I really don't want to reinstall Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.
You receive errors related to updates?
- Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
- In the left pane, click view update history.
- Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update. - In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

Suggestions:
Make sure that the following services are started.
- Click Start, type services.msc, press on enter, and then click Services.
Double-click on these "Windows Update Service", "Cryptographic Service" and Background Intelligent Transfer Service"and under the general tab, verify that the service has not been disabled in the Startup Type box. If the Service has been disabled, then set to automatic.
- Perform a clean boot to start Windows using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. Then try to install the update from the download file that the problem may occur because of a conflict of third party software.
The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135The purpose of a clean boot is trying to find out what service/program is causing a problem.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual.
Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.
Important - step 7: reset the computer to start as usual
- Download the update and install the update manually

updates will not be installed.
We have 17 updates which will not update. They light up nightly at 03:00. They do not give me time to save and exit the work or stop the installation. What should I do? After the updates are trying to install, he said it's to go back. I think it's the reason why we cannot use our modem for some reason any. Please let me know what happens.
Thank you
