Over years: taskbar Windows 7, sometimes hidden with FF 7.0.1

I pointed out to him that this problem has been long. Sometimes, by the way my cursor to the bottom of the screen of the monitor fails to reveal the taskbar in W7. If I restore FF down to a smaller screen size, then the taskbar will appear when the cursor is passed down.

Because it is a random problem, it is very difficult to determine with certainty what makes. But I will say that it seems to happen when KeeFox is manipulated in some way. And, can be temporarily put everything right to turn around restore/maximize...

For those of you who are interested in this issue, it seems that it is a bug window dating back to Vista and that it must still be fixed by Ms. This problem has also been reported with IE and Chrome, but not of Maxthon (been a long user date of the latter and never had this problem). The best solution seems to be clicking the Windows button to restore the taskbar. You can read about this problem on these two URLS:

    Hi RicardoMC,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

From the description of the problem, I can understand that you need more information on disabling the taskbar thumbnails.

Windows 7 does not include a graphical (GUI) User Interface to disable taskbar thumbnail preview.

The only option that comes pretty close to turning off the feature is by modifying the registry settings. Check out the following link and check if this helps you to disable the taskbar thumbnails.

  • Taskbar Windows 8 may become visible even in full screen display to extend

    I had an extended display
The second screen is called to play a video in full screen
The taskbar are hidden properly at this point, behind the video
Then on the main screen, I click on the task bar it. The taskbar becomes visible on both screens.
To remove the taskbar in the second screen, I have to click the second screen (in this case pause/play the vacuum).
In my view, that he is some sort of bug.

    Hi man,
First of all, I would like to know if the question is limited to the video player:
You can search for "taskbar" without quotation marks in the start screen and select "Task bar" in the settings.
    There, check "auto-hide the taskbar."
Move the mouse over the taskbar on the main screen and see if it appears on the secondary.
In addition, if the problem is with only the video player and you are having problems because of this, try another player.
If the same thing happens with auto-hide, it can either be a feature or a bug.

    Hi all

I have a problem with the Thinkpad X 230. After a recent update of Windows 7 (64-bit), the screen resolution is set to 800 x 600 and brightness to the minimum. FN + F8/F9 does not work. The brightness is uncontrolled. I had to restore the system before the update.

How to solve the problem, do anyone know?

    Thank you!

    Hi Isosik,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

According to the request, we understand that you are facing problem with the display resolution on your ThinkPad X 230.

If you have updated the drivers from Windows update, sometimes this kind of problem occurs with windows generic drivers for cause of driver incompatibility, suggest always update drivers only via the ThinkVantage System Update utility. Update only the application of Microsoft Windows Update.

You can also manually download the drivers from the Lenovo support site.

    I hope this helps.

Another option, you may need to check is the following.

    Launch of HP Support Assistant.

Click the gable of parameters to the upper right.

In the following Panel, make sure the "show an icon in the taskbar" entry (see the option highlighted in the image below) is checked - if not, click in the box enter a tick, then click on the "Save" button.

  • the minimized in the taskbar window won't launch

A minimized in the taskbar window will launch not or be enlarged when you click it. How to fix? Thank you.

A minimized in the taskbar window will launch not or be enlarged when you click it.

Using the Task Manager command to go to the process to understand what it is and what it does.   For example, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, find the problem task bar icon in the Applications, right click, Go To Process tab, note the name of the Image.   You can also configure the process tab to show all the data in the column and get more details on the problem of the task.   Sounds like it could be hung or in a low level loop.   So, % of CPU and other statistics can help you with that.   If it's W7, you can also use the resource monitor to get similar information on this task, in particular a more precise idea on the question of whether the task has been attached or does not.   In any OS, you can use ProcExp (available on TechNet) as a more functional alternative to the Task Manager.

If it is not blocked, and not in a loop, it could be something to play games with you.   So what you could do with it would depend on its implementation.   For example if it was an IE window, it could just be controlled by a script, in which case you could try setting the security settings for the Internet zone is high.  By default, the high level does not allow Active Scripting.

  • Windows 7 starts problems with black screen and the cursor because of power failure

I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium OS. Start-up problems arose after the power failure (accidentally unplugged the charger, the battery was not in place) during a video call in Skype. Accessories attached to the laptop at the time were a Logitech Webcam, a dongle Bluetooth, microphone and headphones.

When starting my laptop Asus N81VP, he'll go as far as the 'Starting Windows' logo, then I meet a black screen with a mobile cursor. I don't then right click, CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

    I tried the things:

Start Up Repair = "cannot automatically repair."

System Restore = no available restore points

Windows Memory Diagnostic = at 100%, no screen of detected problems, then black with mobile cursor

Networking Mode Safe Mode/Safe = black screen with cursor mobile

Activate video low resolution (640 x 480) = black screen with cursor mobile

Good known Configuration = black screen with cursor mobile list

Start Windows normally = black screen with cursor mobile

Please help me. I've had this laptop for less than a year, and it would break my heart to have to re - format.

You seem to have exhausted most of the options available in such cases, except two:
D ' log in under a different account.
-To restore your registry files manually. See below for more details.

On your heart that could get broken: have you considered using the imaging facility that is integrated with Windows 7? You can find it in the control panel / backup and restore. This is somewhat marginal in the feature and it can be finicky, but it saved my butt several times.

You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. Select repair in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • Refresh Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center

    Dear all,

I know that this issue is outdated, but I'm stuck and could not find relevant suggestions to solve the problem. I had a Windows 7 preinstalled on my laptop and when windows 8 pro upgrade offer was announced I was among the first who was immediately upgraded to windows 8 pro and then as a special offer that also gave me the windows media center to activate. I would like to confirm that I have not the mail where in the product key for windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and windows media center. After the upgrade, except a few hiccups, there is no problem at all. Then when windows 8.1 pro was available on the windows store I've even once upgraded to windows 8.1 pro. After the installation of my new configuration was Windows Pro 8.1 with Media Center.

But immediately after the upgrade, I realized that the discount into account and recovery option did not work. He always encouraged me that some files are missing and I need to insert the media. But never, I downloaded an image ISO of Windows 8 Pro and don't have I not a windows media 8.1 pro because of the way I had been upgraded to windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center. in any case, I just forgot the question and never bored on this subject seriously.

But Offlate I realize that my computer has slowed down considerably. I tried the option to delete the Temp, Prefetch compensation files, scan /sfc, defrag etc etc. But nothing seems to work. Suddenly I realize also that when booting I get a blue screen with the message this process is critical error blue screen death. Sometimes, I just get a prompt Commander with press TP message press Ctrl Alt Del and then some message about a problem in external media connected failure... I never took a snapshot of the same thing.

Now someone can tell me how to do: -.

b how to refresh windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center without any media. I have only windows 8 Pro and Media Center Key separately.

    (b) If there is no way to update windows 8.1 Pro without media then

    (I) Comment to download media Windows Pro real 8.1 with the key of Windows 8 Pro on the Microsoft site.

(ii) what happens if I download windows 8 Pro Media and then try to update windows 8.1 Pro? Will it work?

(iii) if I download Windows 8 Pro and then reinstall on my laptop running windows, Pro 8.1 will he do a clean install? What happens to the Sony Vaio Care which is preinstalled on my PC? It's the Bios that has been updated on my PC? I checked out the site of Sony Vaio and found that it has not released and drivers for Windows Pro 8 or 8.1 of Windows Pro. Sony has released updates for Windows Pro 8 and 8.1 of Windows Pro only. So after a clean installation from which will be drivers for Bios, graphics, Ethernet, Bluetooth drivers driver, Wireless LAN Driver, SATA driver, card reader memory, Vaio Care pilot, Vaio Control Center, Data Rescue, Notebook Utilities, Vaio Update, Vaio Gate, fast Internet access, Vaio Smart Network, pilot ME, etc etc...

    (c) how to fix the blue screen issue?

    (d) what to do if I get the Message to press Ctrl Alt Del again and it won't start... Return to the menu even again and again...

I'd appreciate if tech assistants would care to guide me to solve the problem. Any attempt to answer in very technical terms without guides step by step is likely to confuse me further... If a request to all the counterparts to stay simple.

But a simple thought crossed my mind - why Microsoft did complicate the question so... Why couldn't they keep the key product of Windows 8 and windows 8.1 even for anyone to directly download the windows pro 8.1 and refresh the PC.

    anyway thanks in advance... regards

    Hi Isabelle,.

I understand that you are looking for ways to refresh your computer.

IF you get a message missing files when executing update, it is recommended to create a bootable disk for Windows 8.1 and launch then refresh.

Please follow the link below that will guide you to create the installation media for Windows 8.1:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

You have not an ISO for Windows 8.1 with media center, it's Windows 8.1/Windows pro 8.1.

Once you launch a clean install of Windows, you must reinstall the application on the computer manufacturer website. and to learn more about the availability of drivers, contact the manufacturer of your computer for help.

Blue screen problem can be caused for multiple reasons such as drivers, hardware...
