Overclock of screen Y510p

I have overclocked to the screen at 75 Hz, but I see no different during playback of some games (think that the game is hardcore for a Max of 63 MF, mass effect 3). My screen can handle an overclock of 80 Hz and still shows not all of the artifacts. In the long run, it will hurt my screen?

Hi EnvoyEngineer,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

As the screen supports overclocking up to 80 Hz frequency in your Y510p using its maximum frequency will affect, but you use at 75 Hz there is no need to worry about this.

  • Lenovo Y510P does not start, the white screen at startup

    Hello world

I got a Lenovo Y510P with SLI 750 m for about 1 year and 3 months now. 2 weeks (at the time, that I've upgraded to Windows 10). My laptop is suddenly unable to boot most of the time.

When I press the power, it hangs on the initial empty screen with no logo pop up. I managed to get it started before, simply by restarting again and again, but it's been 3 days and no luck. He simply stays on a blank screen (no), although the keyboard button and the power light.

Here are the steps I took to solve problems:
-> Battery removed, disconnected ca, played "suppression of ephemeral power" now the power button for 60 seconds (did it this several times)

-> RAM removed, changed slots etc. When there is no RAM, the computer continuously restarts
    -> Deleted HARD drive, reinstalled

-> Removed 2 GPU. When the 2nd GPU is plugged in, the fan will try and turn from time to time

-> Connectors disconnected to the wi - fi module

    -> Restarted several times

-> Press the NOVO button, he just brings him to the white screen

Any advice would be much appreciated. The laptop itself is in good condition and has little physical ware. Unfortunately, is no longer under warranty, and I don't know the cost to send it is quite high.

  • Y510p - flashing screen, nvidia lost driver

So, I turn on my y510p, and it seems that the display cable is missing. Just to see the screen. I went into safe mode to discover device manager claims that there are problems with my nvidia driver. In safe mode there is no problem with the screen, so I decided that the Intel graphic works, but nvidia does not work. I downloaded the new update nvidia and deleted the nvidia since Device Manager driver. Now, I don't see that the intel and when I tried to install the new driver nvidia (not safe mode), he said that it can not detect the graphics card. I turned on the laptop to try again, but now I have trouble loading the operating system. (Win 10 64-bit). How to force to find nvidia graphics and be able to install the new driver?

Mod edit: System model added to the front of the subject line to improve visibility / clarity.

Please mark as RESOLVED. The problem was that the Nvidia driver crashed after the new update of Windows 10. Update the driver that he fixed, but it was a bit difficult in the whole mess. Thank you

  • Screen glitching in Y510p

I have this laptop for 4 months now, and I was more happy about it. Like 4 days ago the first problem appeared. The screen is randomly glitching when I watch videos for the most part, but also using chrome and sometimes in some video games. They are not more than one second and appear randomly, especially with 5 seconds to a few minutes of time between them. They are not more than 200 px wide, sometimes smaller. I have the feeling that they are better worse every day. I am not in a position right now to update my drivers for the GPU because of my internet, but when I can I'll do it.

    Hi Repthefox,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

According to the request, we understand that you are facing the question with the glitching screen in your laptop Lenovo Y510p.

As you mentioned that the glitches les pepins laptop computer screen, please connect the external monitor and check the issue.

  • Overclocking GPU and CPU in y510p

  • y510p 8.1 Windows black screen

I tried to update my y510p to windows 8.1 twice now. But once installation is complete I get a black screen with a cursor. I tried to start in safe mode to install the right drivers, but it won't let me. It automaticaly boots and restore the previous version of windows.

So I'm wondering if I should take a few precautions before upgrading to win8.1 (such as the installation of the win8.1 display drivers?)

Perhaps a better question is if I sould all be updated to windows 8.1?

I solved the problem by restoring my computer to factory settings since its still relatively new, do not know what the real solution would have been nice for those who do not want to restore the computer.

  • Y510P image does not fit into the second screen using HDMI

Hi, I have the Y510P with Windos 8.1 latest graphic drivers. I am connect to my HDTV via HDMI and the image fits well in my TV and it has a little zoomed. I was looking for a solution in all the menus of Intel HD 4600, nVIDIA Control Panel, Windows scaling... Nothing works. I have another laptop and it has an option that is changing the image and the TV shows that what is supposed to be for show.

How can I solve this and did what I see in the screen of my laptop on the second screen (TV)?

    Thank you!

    I have a 1280 x 720 Samsung TV, I don't know the model exactly.

The probem disappear when you change your screen resolution, or change the size of the elements, or something like that. It has something to do with the Panel of Intel, where there is a scaling option, in the tab 'display '. Well, there should be an option to select the scale, but it is not.

So, to make it appear, you need to do this:

    1. connect the HDMI

2 desktop, right-click, screen resolution, in 'View', you must select your TV, in my case "Samsung TV"

    3. you change the resolution from 1080 to 720

    4. then select Samsung TV as output ONLY screen, so the screen of the laptop turns off

    5. go in Control Panel (right click, graphics properties... office, display) Intel

    6. NOW, in the scaling box, you can move the 2 sliders and adjust the image, so now I can make it adapt to the screen

Although it is a solution, and everything works fine, I don't like. I should be able to look at the screen of my laptop, and the most annoying is that steps 1 to 5 are reset every time you unplug the HDMI. It is a temporary solution.

I want my nVIDIA GT 755 M to take control of the HDMI, I think that I could just plug the HDMI then automatically shows properly scaling the picture of my TV. Just plug and unplug, like all my other computers.

Thanks for the help and hope I can find a real solution.

  • Y510P screen issue - stain dark corner

    Hey all,.

Ordered and received a Lenovo Y510P a few days ago. Very happy with the performance, air, etc. However, I noticed the following thing that seems to keep annoying me.

In the angle of direction, there is a kind of small dark spot when compared to the rest of the screen. A kind of inverted backlight bleeding. This is basically when you sit directly in front of the screen (angle of view). When I look straight at him, he's gone.

However, it is noticeable on a light background (white). But as browsers like Chrome and IE have those bright horizons / bars, I keep getting annoyed by it, especially since it's a new purchase.

Any recommendations on what to do or do I just have to accept it? I know that LCDs aren't 100% perfect, you will always have some kind of issues (backlight bleeding, visualization of angles etc.).

    Kind regards!

    I contacted the store and their response was;

Flaws unacceptable, please send back and you will receive a new product.

    Excellent service!

  • y510p screen stays black after waking up from standby or hibernation

Seems that since the latest graphics drivers NVIDIA update (I'm not 100% sure on this subject, but I think that this is the case), my screen remains black at being woken up from sleep or hibernation. I know it's on, and what is not a matter of the computer is slow, because it is not and even if it were, leaving for several minutes and it remains empty and the power button and keyboard and everything comes on and it starts to heat up to the top, so I know it's something. Hit the FN - F2 for the backlight does nothing, so I don't think that is the question. The only way to solve it is to hold down the power button / stop and reboot, which pisses me off because sometimes I have a large upward job and am forced to lose. Anyone else see this problem? Could it be related to new graphics drivers, or is this something worse and related material? My screen looks OK when it comes to everything else.

    Thank you!

Well everyone, I think I 'solved' the problem. The latest NVIDIA drivers, I have installed the other day fixes the problem. I can sleep, hibernate, shut down, you call it without going through the screen lights up only not for the last day today. I can't say for sure, but I am sure that it was the matter of 99%. I appreciate the help nonetheless.

  • Violent of screen plugged HDMI Lenovo Y510p

If I use a HDMI setting to connect my laptop to my sound surround, which is also connected to my TV. I only use the hdmi for audio, but no matter what I do, I get this weird horizontal tearing on the screen of my laptop whenever I use it. If anyone else has experienced this problem or knows how to solve.
    Sincerely

    Shane

Well Yes, I guess then, the problem is when you try to use it on both screens at the same time.

You can try to expand the display, I know it of a different mode, but does not cause ripping screen.

This could be a problem with some display drivers. Try to download the Intel chipset drivers last Lenovo Web site.

You can go to Support > drivers & downloads and select your laptop model and the OS.

Download and install the Integrated GPU drivers (I think should be Intel 4600).

  • P750 satellite - black screen, freeze, blocking everything at stake

Hi, I had my P750 not for long, and I have some problems with games.
Most of the more recent games like NFS RUN, BF3 or FEAR 3, shows a black screen in game, freeze and then the accident I will play the game (2-10 minutes).

Other games like BLACK OPS, ASSASSINS CREED REVELATIONS and SAINTS ROW THE THIRD, freeze and I have to press ctrl + alt + delete to continue the game again... im really disappointed with Toshiba, because although I was told that this laptop was appropriate for the game, instead I get crashes!

I don't have it overclocked, the NVIDIA drivers are later (285.62) same as DirectX

I've seen similar posts on this forum, but no serious solution. Help, please!

Toshiba pilot European page you can find the NVIDIA driver v 267.44
    Have you tested this driver?

I also found a few updated drivers on laptopvideo2go.com page but the use of these drivers is at your own risk and don't know if they work properly.

  • HPE-500cs: Permutation GTX460 for GTX960 = > HP Splash screen freeze

Hello guys. So today, I'm really really a lot about GTX 960. I rushed in and bought. Before exchanging I did I have deep cleaning of the pilot. (DDU) Then I swapped the cards. (GTX 460 for the 960) Wattage is sufficient. After pressing the button, the HP splash screen appears. 'Press ESC to enter the BIOS. When I try to press something, the PC sounds right. After like 30 seconds, I hear one long beep followed 3 short. The HP bios blocks the card?

I also tried the card in my pc of brothers, no problem, the card is fine. Only clue I have is that the MB has only PCI-E 2.0 and this card is 3.0. This could be the problem?

    Ive measures taken:

    1.) deep clean with DDU
    Clear 2.) CMOS
3.) begin without HARD drive is connected (nothing really changed)

IM really deperate. I intend to try different moba, but it's hard to find a good for a such old processor. The H61, I found all them have only 2 RAM slots, but I have 4 sticks of 2 GB. Should I go for Z75 even when I can't overclock? I really want to go back to my 460.

Thank you for your time and sorry for the long post.

EDIT: I have brand new 500W 85 + PSU, which should be more then enough since the GPU is only 120W

    SareMa, welcome to the forum.

I believe that the problem may be that the video card is not compatible with the motherboard BIOS.  Most of the newer cards require UEFI.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  In addition, it could be that the power supply is older and does not provide the necessary power for the card to function properly.  This is 460W and map requires a minimum 400W PSU.  Age of the PSU, they are not as powerful.

I suggest you contact the manufacturer's Technical Support to see what they have to say.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Blue screen on Satellite C660

My plant C660 - blue screen with the error message... "a break of clock has not received on a secondary processor in the allotted time interval. I've updated the bios and all the main drivers othe and removed the software.

Any suggestions as to what could go wrong?

    Hello

I read a few threads, including this error message (clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor in the allotted time interval) and in all cases the CPU seems to be overclocked.

To be honest such procedure may damage the CPU and the laptop lose the warranty coverage, so it seems that the CPU is affected.

  • y510p hdmi games at 120 Hz

    Hi guys

I recently bought a Lenovo y510p GT750m sli, that's pretty impressive for the games, but now I think to buy an external monitor, and here I need a bit of advice.

the monitor I need if work of handel via my Macbook and games via my y510p, for the work I am looking for a monitor 27 "1440 p to 1080 p games would do well.

    Basically, I have 3 questions:
-How can I be sure that my y510p have HDMI 1. 4 b (b is important here)?
-I'll be able to get a good gaming performance on an external monitor via HDMI 1. 4B (my concern here is, I'm going to invest in a screen and find myself less than 30 frames per second or aving to lower the quality of game dramatacilly)?
    -l'y510p will be able to run 1080 p 120 Hz on a 1440 p monitor?

I have my eye on a few of the monitor, if anyone has any experience with them, I'd love to hear about them (especially on game performance)

    -DELL U2713HM
    -Samsung S27A850D
    -ASUS PB278Q
    -BenQ BL2710PT

(ps: I'm not sure above would be able to make 120 Hz 1080 p)

Hey guys, thanks for the response guys.

I decided on an ASUS PB278Q, this is a great monitor, works like a charm on my macBook which is my daily workstation.

On my Lenovo p510 im to Office impeccable 2560x1440px via HDMI 1.4, I disabled the internal monitor to the laptop, no need so I will save the gpu rather ' etc.

There are some pixel/artifact problems, do not know what to call it, for the DS, in the window of the browser chrome for Battlefield 4 I get a few strange flickering pixels in bright colours red/green, but only in the middel of the browser when the page uses opacity layers, I have not seen this in any games or other applications so I count them for nothing.

To the bottom of the scale of the problems: the screen seems to manage to the bottom of the scale is pretty bad, I have e.g. set the monitor 1920 x 1080, text etc. is slightly blurry, it also takes effect in games, I don't know if it is a question of monitor og gfx card, I can only reconmmend by running the Office at 2560x1440px

    Games:
Virtually all games run smoothly with the external monitor in the middle to high heat, I run most of the games in 1080 p mode.

Battlefield 4 - BF4 is quite demanding, I tried running at 1440 p high, but it lags a lot, so currently im running the game in 1080 p 59.9 hz settings means to 57 to 60 fps, even on 64player cards in the center of the heat , light sweet, I get about 120 frames per second , but I recon I see only 60 of them since the screen is set at 60 hz.

Diablo 3 - 1080 p works great in 1440 p high, at the top is possible but a few times so that walk a few stuttering occurs, interest in 1440 p image is rich in saturation, but 1080 p, it seems more gray'ish light, like a high gamma version. (update: run the game in 1680 x 1050 to get the same rich saturation like 1440 p )

Guild wars 2 -to 1440 p settings means v-sync (choose autodetect to preset settings) I get about 60 images per second, which is very nice

    Overall:
even if you game on the native of the lenovo display is large enough, nothing beats having a widescreen from 27 "to eye level, in most of the cases the y510p's to the task, but for FPS games properly, you will need to play 1080 p to og medium low to get a good pace, even though It is absolutely worth playing on a screen of 27 ", my games have improved a LOT.

If you plan ARICI to use the monitor for the y510p, I'd go with a cheaper screen, maybe a 1080 p version because of the problems of scaling of the pb278q from asus, but since im using it for my mac book as well, it works fine .

So there you have it, game on the y510p on an external monitor to 2560x1440px with FPS desente and quality gfx is possible .
