Overly sensitive / Mouse touchpad

Touchpad and mouse seem overly sensitive. Hovering again my hand on top of the mouse button or the button causes a web page to return to a previous page.
Grateful for any thoughts. Could it be static?

Hello

I don't know what the problem is here, but I recommend you to check the properties of the TouchPad. If you have Synaptics TouchPad you can find sensitivity option. There are two options: PalmCheck and tactile sensitivity.

I hope that one of them will help and the TouchPad is not so sensitive. Please test and validate the results.
Good luck!

    Some laptops have buttons to activate the touchpad on and outside, so you don't accidentally touch it with your palm while typing, which will trigger a zoom or scroll.

    Most laptops come with keyboards provided by a company named Symantec. If you open your mouse control panel options, and then click the Hardware tab, you can use the settings there to set certain options feeding by Symantec.  It is the sensitivity options, but also a "PalmCheck" function that tries to determine if your keys are intentional.
    If these options do not exist, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your laptop for more help, because Windows itself does not support the hardware capabilities of the touchpad: it leaves the company that made the touchpad.
  • Too sensitive mouse button.

    It's a little different than I've seen issues related to sensitivity of mouse button.  If I lightly press the left button on my mouse in a certain place, it is simple clique.  Is that being the natural rest for my finger.  I tried to clean it out, but it is still very sensitive.  Ideas?

    Depending on your computer, look for the icon of touchpad on the taskbar, right-click and choose Properties. Click the buttons and you can try to change that made the left button.  On some systems, you can choose to disable the buttons on the touchpad altogether.

    Or you can try to adjust the Mouse / touchpad in Windows. Unfortunately they may not be much you can do, but I hope this helps.

  • Tecra S1 - Accupoint / mouse Touchpad has become crazy

    Hello

    I bought my Tecra S1 second hand about 2 years ago and it was working fine until I realized missed me the video card driver, once installed the cursor on the screen went weird, he kept by adhering to one side of the screen for a long time, I uninstalled the driver but nothing works She continued to do until I completely lost control of the mouse whenever I opened my laptop.

    Recently, I decided to reinstall Windows XP Home edition to see if it was a software problem (of any kind) but still the problem of cursor. I don't know how an installation simple driver on my laptop has created such a hassle. I I am convinced that it is not a hardware problem since any device of mouse I use (mouse, touchpad, accupoint) the nuisance persists.

    If anyone has any suggestions / solutions please let me know.

    Thank you

    Hello

    I have older Tecra M1 and I had this problem. AccuPointer was defective and after Exchange of keyboard, everything was OK again.
    Only thing you can do is to use an external mouse and disable the double pointing device in the properties of the mouse or by using the FN + F9 key combination. I did the same thing.

    Of course, the touchpad driver must be installed.

  • Question on mouse over and mouse on

    I am a beginner in flash and I'm doing a project involving overs of mouse for my class. But the functions I wrote are not yet called, it's like the mouse over event listeners are not yet there. I'm trying to make it work with a clip that contains text in. I have the code in a file separate as3. Any ideas? Yes, the movieclip has the name of the appropriate forum. The path displayed in the output no window more. What I am doing wrong?

    Here is the code that I use, I have only included what is relevant:

    instructionsText.visible = false;

    instructionsText.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, showText);

    instructionsText.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, hideText);

    function showText(event:MouseEvent) {}

    trace ("mouse in");

    instructionsText.visible = true;

    }

    function hideText(event:MouseEvent) {}

    trace ("mouse over");

    instructionsText.visible = false;

    }

    I'm asking all the code.  If my eyes is missing something, the code you show in your first post is fine.  If the code is fine then it must therefore be a disconnection between the code and the object that it is targeting.

    Since you have not informed of everything, I guess that you get any error messages.  For any error introduced, there may be a few reasons I can think of as to why the subject doesn't react.

    It would be to have an object that blocks access to the object, such as another object that has an alpha value of zero so you don't see it.

    Another would be if you happen to have handled the object in the timeline panel, such as the instance that you interact with is not the same as the code is to work with.

    Now, after writing all the other option that might get in the way of things is if your object is not visible... looking at your code from earlier, it just occurred to me that you have the object that you want to interact with turned invisible.  An invisible object is unable to interact with a mouse.  You will need to use its alpha instead of its visible property property if you want to interact with him.

    instructionsText.alpha = 0;

    instructionsText.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, showText);

    instructionsText.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, hideText);

    function showText(event:MouseEvent) {}

    instructionsText.alpha = 1;

    }

    function hideText(event:MouseEvent) {}

    instructionsText.alpha = 0;

    }

  • Behavior erratic mouse/Touchpad on Inspiron 15 5447

    I had my laptop for a little over 4 months. I mainly use a wireless mouse with him... and every so often the mouse will have a mind of your own. I can be typing or even try to use the mouse and it will start to jump around on the screen itself... by selecting things... even of switching/Mobile windows as if buttons are pressed as well. At first I thought that maybe it was interference with the touchpad... so I tried both disable touchpad when external mouse is connected... and disable the touchpad altogether and the problem persists. So I thought that maybe the mouse is the problem, so at some point when he wents nuts on me, I turned it off and opted for the touchpad... but the erratic behavior continues. The only thing I can do about it is to restart... and then things are usually fine for several days before the question starts again. Any thoughts on what the problem maybe, or troubleshooting tips?

    It worked - DELL has a terrible touchpad - there is a hardware ONLY problem affecting the series 3000, 4000, 5000 and 7000.  I bought a protective screen of the dollar for a dollar store, it worked where all software solutions had failed.

      Hello world!

      Like you I had the same problems touchpad. At first, I thought it was ESD and troubleshoot-made for a few days. Finally, I concluded that he had nothing to do with the EDD and passed questions possible pilot. I installed every driver package I could find, modified, off driver signature in order to install OEM drivers, used Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Ubuntu etc... but in vain.

      Early on, some kind of physical problem seems to be the most logical. The question was just what! I couldn't believe that synaptics could do such an aweful touchpad which was incapable of actually at work. I did support arguing that the question must be caused by something small. During my last clean install of Windows 8.1 I noticed that the default windows caused the touchpad driver is EXTREMELY sensitive. You will notice that once you install the latest driver from Dell the cursor movement calms down considerably. The touchpad is still extremely sensitive, the driver is just take the raw input all that and generalizing it in a cursor, easier to manage. Conclusion, the touchpad is too sensitive.

      I compared this premise with my previous experiences and found much support each other. My touchpad would typically be panic after a lot of 2-finger scroll or a large number of movements of gesture.  Indeed, it would stop work entirely if I blew warm breath on her. Conclusion, I need to desensitize the touchpad on and protect... but how!

    In my first attempt, I simply took the touchpad transparent and entirely covered with packing tape. Don't expect anything I ran my finger on it and revealed that the movement of the cursor is estimated much more controllable. I used it for 30 minutes like this with only a few minor problems. (My touchpad STILL freaks out in the first 15 minutes, so for me it was a big deal!) I asked a little more layers of Ribbon downwards and the feature kept getting better and better. Since I was best performance with several layers of tape and because the transparent packing tape is not look glued to your laptop I wanted to find a better solution. I needed a plastic resistant thick that I would stick to the surface of the touchpad and has no need of me to use many of the layers. Conclusion, use plastifieuses 3 m plastic.

    On this second attempt, I disassembled the laptop and removed the touchpad of the palm rest area. I used a tampon Magic Eraser with a little water and very little SOAP to clean the surface of the touchpad. After that it was clean and dry I cut an oversized square piece of plastic lamination and placed the touchpad upside on the sticky side of the plastic. I then took a razor and carefully trimmed the excess by tracing around the edge of the touchpad. The result was a piece perfectly sized plastic on the top of the touchpad. I reinstalled the touchpad in the palmrest and reassembled the computer. (Please note that there is some tape of ground wire to the back of the tablet that should be reapplied during installation.)

    I use it like this for 3 days now with ZERO problems! I hope that Dell takes knowledge from this post and comes up with a real solution. The black surface of the touchpad is itself just plastic glued on the circuit of keys using an adhesive. It seems that the simple solution would be for them to replace it with a more robust piece more thick. One thing I noticed is that the 3 m plastic is tougher than the original surface of the touchpad which makes it difficult to slide your finger over it. When I started my finger continued to jump on the touchpad which caused the cursor to jump around, however after a few hours he smoothed out nicely. You can have better luck using a different plastic as a screen protector of mobile phone since it was designed to have the fingers touch.

    in any case, I really hope that this helped you guys. I was just as grumpy as you on this subject and I still think that Dell OFFICIALLY must do something about this problem! (DELL TAKE NOTE!) In the meantime, I hope this allows you to you guys and running and able to enjoy your laptop once more! Good luck!

  • Satellite P50 - C - questions mouse Touchpad

    I have a portable P-50 C and since I upgraded to Windows 10, I had problems with my mouse. If the needle touches accidentally any link, it locks automatically, without my volition. It's particularly irritating when I leave just apage unintentionally because the pointer was pointing in this direction. I don't know how to solve this problem. I'm not an expert in computers and want a simple cure for this.
    Thank you all out in advance!
    Sharada

    I have the same laptop with the same problem - I knew not that it was linked to windows 10 but if it is, then it has not been resolved with the last anniversary windows update. Unfortunately the drivers for the touchpad seem to lack the possibility to reduce the sensitivity or disable the tap to click function.

  • How do to change the Mouse/touchpad options Aspire E5 (521-610p)? Cannot find beyond the base pointer options.

    Just a new Aspire E5 for my girlfriend and can't see how to change the options of touchpad (for example, sensitivity, scroll to settings, etc). On my V3 571 G acer from the base of the mouse options I can go in "momentum" to change various options but do not seem to have (or cannot be found) this option on the new E5... any advice. I'm sure it's something obvious that I'm missing.

    If there is I have yet to discover, I was looking for other options for about a month myself, now. Synptic precision touchpad, unlike elan touchpad, looks more like a MacBook touchpad with native gestures and the integration of the OS.
