  If the virtual machine was created using Windows Installer Easy or has a VMware SCSI virtual hard disk, you must download the Drivers SCSI VMware and select the file vmscsi - 1.2.0.4.flp like the floppy drive of the virtual machine in the Virtual Machine settings sheet of the target. This disk image contains the necessary VMware SCSI disk drivers when booting with the Windows XP CD and you will need to press F6 when it says "press F6 if you need to install...". "at the bottom of the Virtual Machine window and it will then invite the driver after he continues to load additional files. I have it configured with one processor, 256 MB of RAM and 30 GB BusLogic emulated disk VM. I have started the installation but received an error message that windows did not find a hard drive to install the operating system. I found an article at the bottom of the knowledge to repoint the floopy drive to a file called vmscsi - 1.2.0.4. Done, but still not find a disc. Rebooted and you press F6.   You make the right choice by pressing F6 at the start. If she does not see the disk then make sure that it is configured to connect to the power on and you have chosen the right floppy image.   If you use your PC manufacturers recovery disks and don't see "no hard disk" the chances are that the hard drive has failed.

  I don t have this Tecra and cannot say for sure what the problem is here, but it turns out that Toshiba offers an OS preinstalled with recorded on the second partition in the file called HDDRecovery recovery image. On some machines, this recovery image is saved on partition small and invisible.
  Everything will be OK until the user changes the structure of the partitions or delete the recorded recovery image.

  To avoid this Toshiba recommends creating DVDs which can be used if the user has the situation that your recovery. It would be much better when you have this drive now. I put t know why you didn't create this DVD.

  In any case, I assume that the recovery image cannot be found because of the structure of the changed partitions or maybe you did anything in the past that have deleted the recovery image.

  I have a problem with my tinkpad. I would like to reinstall windows, but my bios cannot recodnise my hard drive. But if I boot from a linux (like knoppix) cd I found the hard drive and you can read and reda on it. (So it's no a hardware problem).

  Is there a tool to perfection I can fix my bios.
  The erroer occurred when I tried to boot window, but whistled while powering.

  I have Windos XP profesional on my machine.

• Win 7 install cannot see hard drive

  My office has a dual boot with two RAID 0 configuration bays (2 x 40 GB SSD Corsair and 2 x 230 GB Seagate Barracuda) with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on each table. I wanted to convert the largest to a standard IDE configuration with a clean install of Windows 7. I disconnected one of the 230 disc gig and put the other 230 as an IDE drive in the Intel Storage Manager. Now, it appears in the BIOS and I can see as a D: drive in Windows, but Windows 7 install do not.

  With most large raid so disabled both Windows 7 boot choice appeared again during the boot, but of course that one can load. I tried to fix things with msconfig, which showed the two BONES, and I removed the disabled. But Windows 7 install again does not see the drive of 230 gig. (It's the disk Win 7 Upgrade btw)

  How can I resolve this installation issue?

  (1) you remove the existing partition and reformat the hard drive before installing Windows 7 on it? If this is not the case, do.

  (2) also the 230 GB drive must be connected to a standard SATA (Non RAID) port before installing Windows.

  What drives when using two pairs as RAID configurations has the "System" partition, it was the SSD drives or disks Seagate 2 x 230. I guess the system partition is on the SSD you can still start Windows with only the connected Yes SSD?  If Yes, then the steps 1 & 2 above are still valid.

Satellite L750 is fairly new laptop model, so I think that it s valid warranty and if you contact an authorized service provider, you can get a new HARD drive for free. Simply contact the guy and ask for help, they will replace the HARD drive for you.

  first post time and I'm sure it won't be my last. I have only limited on VMWare knowledge and I need assistance to overcome a problem that I have a little.

  I have a rack mounted server was just sitting there, so I thought I'd give ESXi server running a go and the software installed without a lot of questions (once I had turned off the RAID on board)

  I have a Board Super microphone, model p8sct, with 4 replaceable Bay to warm and 2 x 160 GB sata hard drives in there, 160 GB each.

  The server was previously running Windows server 2003, but is no longer needed so I thought I could use it and get some experience of VMWare on the thumb. The problem I have is a Windows XP machine. When you try to run the build without them didn't detect the hard drive, I extracted the drivers of the controller RAID of Supermicro.

  I have connected a floppy with the drivers provided drive and loaded their place, but the drive still could not be detected.

  Any help on this would be much appreciated.
