P2415Q - no display on DVI, HDMI. No menu. Worked perfectly for a month on the display port

Line of reason: Dell P2415Q. After a month, works perfectly on the display port, no display on screen Display Port or HDMI, no response to the menu buttons, backlight and power ON but no picture on the screen.

Description of the problem

The monitor worked out of the box for a month using the mini display port display port cable supplied with the monitor, which was plugged into my XFX 7970 and 7950 graphics cards. It supports 4K at 60 Hz and has been exceptional for photos, videos and games. Wednesday, the monitor no longer works, no picture or menu is displayed on the monitor. I plugged my old monitor to help diagnose via DVI graphics card even. When I press the power button on the Dell P2415Q monitor, the power LED lights up and the computer detects the monitor (as shown in the menu of the windows screen resolution). He defines as a secondary display but the screen remains black, I see the light power and backlight is turned on. No power save mode popup doesn't appear on the monitor, when I press the buttons of the menu there is no response from the screen, it stays black. I repeated with an HDMI cable, the same problem occurs without intervention or image. I repeated and disabled crossfire (which allows graphics cards to run independently) and tried the second graphics card without response. I tried the HDMI cable I used on my old LG monitor, it works well. I tried to connect a laptop on HDMI to the monitor too, no response from the monitor. I've exhausted all the tests I can think, I guess I'll have to return to the screen for repair or replacement under warranty. A question to the community - and dell rep is there anything else I can try / to make this work?

  • Mini Display Port has completely stopped working

So I bought a Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter and it has worked perfectly well for more than a month. That's until 3 days ago. Out of nowhere I plugged my HDMI into the adapter and the power led of the monitor turned on and after a few seconds of reading, "No Signal". I have to hold the power cord in the more odd angles to get even for the screens of mirror, and even in this case, the screen is static at 80%. I looked online and tried every single tip or solution I've seen without success. All my HDMI cords are fully functional as I tried each one with my PS4 and works perfectly, so this isn't the issue. I've never had problems like this with any other Apple computer. Probably because no other computer using mini display ONLY ports. If anyone has had this problem and found a solution please let me know, if I can try to get this working. I have a MacBook Pro 15 in. mid-2012 with the processor i7 under OS X 10.8.5

This suggests a possible problem with the cord.  I would like to make an appointment with an Apple store genius bar and I tested the unit and the power cord.

  • U3014 Vertical lines/artifacts after standby sleep usng DVI - D cable. Work around this problem, use a DP cable.

    Hello

I have a rev A01 U3014 that works perfectly until recently. Over the weekend, the display exposed vertical lines colored after recovery mode sleep. I cycled the power on the display and the problem disappeared. I thought it was an isolated incident and did not think much. The problem occurs for a few days. Today, the problem has occurred three times - twice taking the sleep and once when I restart. I'm fairly certain that this is not a problem of cable or the video card the problem when I disconnect the DVI - D cable. I have also updated and restored my video drivers, the problem is back, regardless of the version of the driver. I'll also try hooking up via DisplayPort to see if maybe the DVI port is the origin of the problem. If there is no other troubleshooting ideas I can try, please let me know. I have the screen connected to an EVGA GeForce GTX 770, running at the native resolution. Here is a picture of the problem. Yet once again, this ONLY happens when the sleep. I have not seen the problem spontaneously occurring under normal conditions of use. Here a link to the image.

Just to update this thread - I went the DVI - D cable to a DisplayPort cable to the end of July and did not repeat it problem.  Thus, it seems that the problem was caused by a faulty cable.

    Hello.

Have a U2414H monitor I need to connect to a Dell T1700 purchased with a videocard of Nvidia K2000 added. I need to use the connector of the video card. 2 display ports will be for an another U2414H monitor and a HDMI TV for meetings. I have a Display port to DVI cable and I try to use it from the Dell U2414H monitor and am out of luck. I can't seen to find info if DP supports the U2414H monitors to DVI cables. Has anyone else got it to work? I tried the DVI port on the PC with HP monitors and they worked. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Dell Nvidia Quadro 600 reference - adapter provided by Dell dongle (display port > DVI) is missing entries

A puzzle - DP > DVI adapter dongle supplied with my refurb Precision T3500 is absent from the entries on the side of DVI. [Both the bag of dongle and the dongle have labels with "DP/N 023NVR" and "CN-023NVR-48570-22M-039X-A00"]

The card is Nvidia Quadro 600 Dell w / 1 DVI port and 1 DP.

I want to go to DP to VGA *... so I need a second adapter grafted on the dongle from Dell.

Missing entries are above and below the long horizontal (spade) of entry. All my DVI > VGA adapters have 2 tiny over the shovel and 2 pins below.

The DVI port on the card fits those 4 pins.

    The dongle does not work.

Can I just use the hot pin (heat a PIN and create holes) approach... or DVI use these 4 connections?

If the latter, why NOT the adapter address these connections?

    * Yes, I keep autour monitors until they die - a strategy to continue to pay the mortgage

If you have Display Port, then you can get a Display port to VGA.

But they tend to be expensive sometimes more expensive than another monitor that is DVI or VGA vs HDMI

  • The main screen becomes secondary in a Setup dual monitor (DVI-HDMI)

Original title: WINDOWS PROGRAMMERS: problem with OS Windows7 not being not able change the numbers of identifiers when using multiple screens and HDMI

To be clear... This problem is with the Win7 OS - no video card GUI that allow to change number ID display on multiple monitors.

Problem with several screens and the use of HDMI cables substituent and #1 assuming that for its corresponding display view identifier.

    Not always ID desired.

But there is no way to change this.

    EXAMPLE:

Monitor is configured as primary display (ID #1) using a DVI cable

Then I connect my SONY Bravia or my LG HDTV displays using HDMI cables, the new screen automatically takes over as the display identifier #1 and the monitor becomes identifier #2.

-This introduces to the identifiers is not something I want, need or want to deal with every time I use several displays. And it creates problems.

There is NO way to correct or modify the identifiers.

Please provide a FIX as soon as possible if you have an ounce of concern for the customer service.

The solution can be as simple as:

GO to THE control panel - appearance and customization - display - change display settings:

Right CLICK... on one of the displays in the window to the left of "Detect" / "identify."

Then the OPTION 'Change display login' with a list of relevant identifier numbers according to the number of multiple connected screens.

    Click 'apply '.

    CLICK ON 'OK '.

and Voila! View identifiers are defined.

    Hi Jean-Pierre.

Thank you for all the information related to the issue.

This problem may occur if the display of the configuration settings dual monitor retain the configuration. Possible reasons could be installed on the computer outdated display driver.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer or the graphics card?
    2. Are you using double display card? Sometimes changing the display settings for the display cards might solve the problem.

First of all, if you have a display of the map or media panel installed on the computer, go to the control panel and change the setting under multiple display change. Assign the identity number according to the status monitor, then check if it retains the configuration when you restart the computer.

Additionally, make sure that you have installed the latest version of the display driver for Windows 7 from the website of the manufacturer of the computer. Sometimes, if the driver is not being updated, the setting may not keep the entire installation. See the link to know how to update the driver on Windows 7:

  • DVI-HDMI with AUDIO

I am trying to connect my new Pavilion p7-1240 to my HDTV but do not have a HDMI port on my new computer. After doing some research I'm to mix signals about whether or not a DVI to HDMI cable will carry audio. I just called Radio Shack and they are salesman told me that the AVIO HDMI to DVI cable carries the audio. However further research says that it is not.

I would appreciate another opinion if you please. Bewilderment of a seller a week is enough. Thank you!

    Hello

    1. the standard DVI carries only video, standard HDMI carries both video and audio.
    2. DVI to HDMI converter adapter / (no need to convert) carries video only.
    3. you need a cable to carry the audio from your laptop to your TV. They can sell a combined adapter, but it must get out of the 2 ports on your laptop: DVI port for video and headphones or line out audio port.

    Kind regards.

  • Toshiba L2333 TV - DVI-> HDMI - no sound

    Hello!

I have connected my PC via DVI-> HDMI cable to the L2333.
    It works very well.

However, how can I give audio to the TV via a my sound card output?
My PC does not provide any audio over HDMI.

I've tried the input SCART and the entrance (by component) audio cinch. No sound.

    Thank you!

    Thomas

DVI provides only the video signal. The HDMI port provides both: video and audio.
If you connect the TV to s for laptop DVI, audio port would not be transmitted.

I guess you need connect s headphones Jack card or the audio output jack to a receiver hifi (av) to get the best sound. Or another possibility to connect to the computer is the use of DVI adapter component. Then, you should be able connect the computers taken DVI Component of televisions. The audio signal would be transmitted from the headphone jack of the computer to the TV's component audio L / R

  • Need for DVI, HDMI on Satellite A300-15 b output

    My toshiba laptop Satellite A300-15 b has only a VGA and S-video out;
    It has an Ati Radeon HD 3650 512 MB graphics card that supports hdmi and dvi, FullHD;

I know that dvi and hdmi are of better quality than vga, so how can I connect my laptop to the dvi and hdmi ports to get the full quality?

I think as a limitation on the taken resolutions dynadock supported?
There is the vga - dvi converters, are good? and how to get quality hdmi and give the hdmi output? thanx

    Hello

I doubt you'd be able to get HD quality on external monitor using this laptop.
As you say the book contains the outputs VGA and S-video.
The s-video port allows you to connect a TV to the laptop computer and the VGA to connect the external monitor.

But the two ports provide analog video signals. The DVI and HDMI are digital ports and it s not possible to convert the analog signal into a digital signal.

Of course you can use some cards but are not converter and I doubt that these adapters would improve the video quality.

  • Display Port to HDMI on TV

I bought a Display Port to HDMI, however, when I connect it to my TV Panasonic 42 "I don't get any screen (the screen is blank).  My computer laptop "r500" behaves as if she's not recognize that it is connected.

Do I need to download (update of the driver, etc.) or all settings I need to change to the display port work?

    Thanks for your help

OK, so I got it working last night, don't know how I did it. I have day the Director of the presentation and a few other things.

I turned off the laptop, plugged into the display port to HDMI and then turned on the laptop back and everything worked perfectly.

I don't know what was wrong or how I corrected, but it works now.

That said, if someone Lenovo reads this, my case number when I called was 12r9b3k.  The man on the phone told me HDMI compatibility was not possible and of course, he was wrong, or did not want to take the time to understand why it didn't work.

  • U2415 Display Port DVI adapter - no Signal

Hi - I have a new U2415 that I'm not getting a signal on when I plug it into my office with a Display Port to DVI.  This is an active adapter that I bought on Amazon.  I have the adapter plugged into the port Display Port, then the cable DVI to my PC.  When I try to "detect" to the monitor displays under Windows 7 64 bit I don't see it in there.  I have 3 other monitors connected to my PC using a videocard ATI Port Quad (ALL DVI) and I know that all ports operate as I went around.

When I plug the monitor in my book of Mack using the Display port cable accompanying the monitor works fine.  I also know the works of DVI cable very well as I tried it on another monitor.

I also tried a CDM/DVI with another card and it does not work.

I also downloaded the software Dell Display Manager but it gives an error saying: he needs a Dell monitor supported.

Any ideas on why the Display port/DVI does not work?  Can someone suggest any other ideas.  I like to keep my current quad DVI video card port as they are costly to change.

    Thank you very much

A PC DVI video card out can no longer convert to a DP monitor using this adapter. This adapter is designed to do the opposite.
"Portable active adapter connects a DisplayPort equipped computer laptop or desktop to a monitor or projector with DVI input.

    You need this configuration =
