P7-1205: amount of necessary recovery media?
Media Recovery prompts the user to choose either DVD (s) or Flash Drive as a system recovery media, but gives no indication of how much will be needed. A single disc? Five disks? A GB flash drive. 32 GB flash drive? Would be nice to have an idea of how the media would be required to produce a recovery media before the start of the process that the process can be done only once (depending on the Wizard).
Does anyone have any idea how much needed medium (DVD or Flash) may be needed to produce the recovery media necessary for this system?
Thank you.
PS. I am not a student.
Don't know where it got.
But I am retired.
And I teach.

So I'm wondering where to get a recovery disk or media. I'd be able to get one from Toshiba?
Thanks for any help

Necessary recovery media (Win7)
Hi people,
Lost a hard drive of my Acer reconditioned office and I can't locate my recovery set I did 3 years ago when new. I went on the website of Acer eRecovery page and entered my SNID. I see this available for $19.95:
eRecovery CD
Thanks, found a bit that I needed. And I was able to use the recovery discs, I did for another office which is the exact same model. Seems to think I didn't need to spewnd the amount of $ on a specified eRecovery disk.

I clicked on finish, as it were has no more records requested when burning a batch of 5 (as requested by the HP Recovery Media software).
Now when I'm trying to do a factory restore, she prays for disc 6 which of course I did not.
As I have re-formatted everything back a little, I can't use F11 (?) to restore everything back except for my records. My laptop is a CTO dv7t-4100. I live in Australia but a new set of recovery disks are shown only to residents in USA & Canada. Any ideas please?
This can help others in the same situation. http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-62996-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&JumpID=reg_r1002_auen

HP ENVY Desktop - 750-167c: HP recovery media creation
I recently bought a HP Envy desktop computer and I tried to create a recovery media and I get a message saying that the partition does not exist. The machine is Factory reconditioned.
What are my options to move forward. I'm guessing that the mahcine should have this partition when it was "reconditioned."Thank you.

I suggest you call HP support that could take a command remotely on your computer to see what goes wrong, and then if necessary, they might send you a series of recovery Image factory (depending on the situation).

Satallite L50-C-1FR - Question on recovery media
I recently bought a laptop Satallite L50-C-1FR. I deleted and added many applications. I used the Recovery Media Creator to make recovery DVD. During the process of textual information said that there is a recovery image on the hard drive. This is not specified, it is how to work my three DVD. They are independent from the image on the hard drive? Furthermore, I made these DVD after making a lot of changes for installed applications.
Is the recovery media I did register these changes?
When you buy the notebook you will get preinstalled with recovery image (factory settings). This recovery image is also recorded on the HARD drive and when you create recovery discs this image will be copied onto disks.
Please note: all applications available to you also will not be part of the package.
One day, when you want to have factory settings again please use the created disks and reinstall the recovery image. Of course, start with number 1 DVD and when necessary (display message) placed second or third DVD in ODD and continue the recovery image installation.

Re: Cannot create flash drives recovery media
I recently bought a new Toshiba NB305-N440BL and updated netboo to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Edition Premium. The Wizard "Create the recovery media", as suggested, I tried to create the recovery on two flash drives media. Flash memory were new and had never been formatted.
What program inserted the "wizard" said that necessary to format Flash drives, but when I asked it to be in format, the program said that there was a mistake and they could not be formatted. I then formatted drives using Windows Explorer Disk Manager, reinsert the readers and received the same "...". needs to be formatted, but wouldn't format... "message. I have also received "error 040E2D-00-00000000 code."
I have googled this error message and found two people who had the same problem with their Toshiba NET books when they attempted to create backup hardware. There are no answers to their requests for assistance. Is there another way to do back ups?
Thank you
Hey,.
Have you tested different USB keys and different brands?
On my laptop Satellite T also requires USB stick to create recovery media I used a USB 8 GB memory CN (Spaceloop XL) and this worked great! :)

I want to create a recovery media for my laptop HP 15 (model r063tu) on a Flash instead of DVD drive (had a bad experience with the DVD in the past). Should I buy a 16 GB or 32 GB of capacity 3.0 USB drive. Because it will only be to create recovery media, obviously I won't be able to use it for other purposes, so want to buy everything as this is sufficient (and save on costs!). Thank you.
Hello
32 GB is necessary because the recovery partition is almost always about 20 GB or more. -
Hello my fellow forum members! : as stated previously, I have a Pavilion 7965 2001 model
There are a few months that the PC has been upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate edition, a new CPU & Firewire ports
Since the upgrade, I still have the support of Windows XP Recovery with the extra added value edition which included the backup application that was not part of XP Home Edition, in addition, I have all the modules necessary service (XP SP 3) as well.
I would like to know the addresses of HP that I can send it to because I do what I do at my public library
because I'm too financially challenged to be here through my home
during the 8 years that I've been here, I've noticed that people periodically ask for recovery media to bring their machines patients back to normal I think would not deprive chipheads colleagues to have their computers to bring a few years of useful life.
I don't know that anyone would appreciate that at the highest level once I have remove this.
Thanks for having me be part of this
spacechild
HP does not maintain these items beyond their useful potential. Support for WIN XP and MS Office 2003 ends on 04/08/2014.

Corrupted files and queries on the Installation/recovery media
Hey guys.
So I've had my laptop for about 2-3 years now, it is a Toshiba model of course. I really need help. Basically, I foolishly managed to download some malware on my laptop. It was a mistake that I never knew. I used MalwareBytes to rid the cell of the malware. However. I noticed that my Windows store did not at all.
So I went to the Microsoft Windows support to answer Tech to talk with someone about the issue. They found that the malware must have obtained in the system and so the file may have been corrupted. I've also upgraded to Windows 8.1 via an automatic update. I noticed that the PC settings and the store did not work at all as the files were corrupted.
Someone from the Office of response team said that I needed to have my PC manufacturer installation media - if I didn't pay for their extra support - and reset the Toshiba operating system.
Is there a way to get it? What does mean by "install media"? Can I reset my Toshiba OS to its factory condition?
Let me know! Thank you.
> Is it possible to achieve this? What does mean by "install media"? Can I reset my Toshiba OS to its factory condition?
Each new Toshiba notebook comes with the pre-installed operating system, what we called recovery image. This recovery image is a software which contains the Windows, all necessary drivers, tools/utilities Toshiba specific operating system and some additional software.
This recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and laptop user is able to reinstall the recovery image if there is a serious problem.
In General, this can be done using HARD recovery disk image installation. Of course, for some reason, this image of HARD drive recovery is not possible. To avoid this situation Toshiba recommend creation of recovery media. Recovery media is DVD or USB created as bootable media and can be used for recovery image installation. This media can be created to use preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator. All this is described in the document s user manuals. Please note: when you buy the notebook this installation disc is NOT a part of the package. You must create one.
After reading your ad, I agree that the best option for you is clean OS reinstallation. How it works under Win8 you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm
Please note: after a successful updated Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows some of HARD drive recovery options are no longer available. If there is a problem with the installation of disk recovery HARD clean there is another option: you can order the original installation disc of recovery on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
Please, check the option for installation of recovery and post comments please.

Necessary recovery for my Satellite Pro L20 CD
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 with Windows XP.
I made a CD of recovery for him and there is no partition separately to install the system from it.So now, even though I own a license number, I can reinstall my system. I called the company that has exclusive rights to Toshiba in my country, and they say that they n t have this recovery CD anymore (my knees is around 3 years - so it s not that old right?) and that s their last word on this situation.
Is someone can you please tell me where can I get this recovery CD? I can buy it anywhere?
Thank you
MihaiHello Mihai
As far as I know Satellite Pro L20 comes with recovery CD and there is no option for the creation on the new laptop models. This option doesn't exist.
You wrote, it is the oldest model of laptop and I can imagine this company doesn t have for this model of laptop recovery media.Toshiba recovery media can be ordered under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx but I'm not sure that you will be able to order it for this older model laptop, but you can check it out.
If you will not be able to order the original Toshiba recovery media, you can install WXP using the facilities of Microsoft CD. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page. One more thing: number on the bottom is for the recovery image and cannot be used with each installation of Windows XP Home edition CD.
If you need assistance with installing WXp let us know.

HP Pavilion 15-p020ca: create USB recovery media, delete the Lexar USB encryption?
Hey guys, try to create USB recovery media. Want to know if the Encrypt-a-Stick Lexar software should be removed from USB before that. Or, can be used to password protect the USB recovery media? Don't think it's necessary, but if it can be used I could go that route. Thank you, pcpunk
Hello

Preinstalled software is included in the recovery media?
Because I'm going to create recovery CD using the Recovery Media Center on my Toshiba L750
It says disk only, no request for system recovery media. I'm therefore wondering if the software is included with the class of system recovery media or I'll have to do something else so I have to drive.
It says also on this site:
Link: [https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2753749&pf=true]Please can you give me a help please
When you buy the new laptop, it comes with preinstalled OS that includes all necessary drivers, Toshiba and public services, as well as some additional software tools too.
When you create the recovery disk so recovery image stored on this disk will be absolute same components after installing OS using this created disc, you'll have the same thing you have after the first start.

At the beginning of the Recovery Media Creator me bothered to back up these 'modest' 14 (FOURTEEN Go!
), but I didn't or a USB key, or a 100 spindle parts CD and an hour at hand. (Well, I know it should support up to 3 DVDs, but I remember the time when I got to 40 to 50 disks 3.5 "or later the same amount of CD.) ) Now that I got the beginning of won´t TF app stick longer. Attempted to assign the original drive letters,... nothing helps.
As I wouldn confidence in a set of 3 DVD-r anyway I reluctantly ordered the DVD for $ 35. (!!!!!!!)
Yet, I would like to know how to get this race.
THX
G.I don t want to write history here.
In my opinion, you should install OS using HARD drive recovery options. With the factory settings, you will be able to use Toshiba recovery media creator. Create recovery discs using DVD-R virgins and the problem will be solved. It would be more comfortable using external HARD disk but it doesn t work.
