P70530 and feeding of 9512

Hello.

I use NI9512 with the cRIO-9074 and engine P70530 stepper drive.

cRIO needs a power supply. And if I understand right NI9512 both P70530 need external power. So, I need 3 power supplies? Or NI9512 and P70530 need only one plugged into the network?

Thank you

As long as you stay in the range of 19 to 30 V, you can feed the 9512 and the 9074 with the same power supply. Still, it is recommended to use a separate to the P70530 power supply, currents of motors can present the cRIO system noise if you use a single power supply. In addition, separating these power supplies helps reduce potentially subjects with ground loops.

Kind regards

  • Using NI 9512 with Modulation of frequency step Position? (cRIO)

    I am trying to activate a scene for an experience that requires a frequency on the step signal modulation to a stepper motor. I use a cRIO-9076, a NO-9512 and driver to drive stepper P70530 OR third party engine step by step. step VI FM Position seems to be exactly what I need for my application, but I have some difficulty working with him and the NI 9512.

    Is it possible to use the 9512 in an FPGA VI?  THE ETC. requires use in a single-cycle timed loop, so I want to send the step and Direction signals directly to the FPGA of e/s for the 9512. The 9512, however, does not set up to use FPGA to IO. In research, I found some examples using the 9501 instead of the 9512 module, but this would require a lot of new material that I don't think I should buy.

    I would greatly appreciate some suggestions as to what to do and even of ideas as to how I could fix this problem.

    Thank you

    Enan

    Hi Enan,

    When you use the 9512 in scan mode, the NI SoftMotion Module will send a position setpoint at 9512 once each evaluation period (the period of analysis is usually around 1 to 10 msec). The 9512 does not generate a path; It just interpolates between the values given. It is your responsibility as the programmer to ensure that values being sent to the 9512 are sinusoidal. To do this, the easiest method is to use a contour move and fill the contour buffer with a profile of the sine wave. You can generate a sine wave using something like the model sine VI profile. He ship in SoftMotion examples that show how to perform a move of contour.

    In my view, contours movement require SoftMotion Standard or Softmotion Premium. If you have SoftMotion Lite, the only way to get a real path sine wave is to build the model of the sine wave on the host of the RT and send him to the FPGAS in a FIFO. You could also build the model of the sine wave directly on the FPGA. You will then write the sine wave point by point to the Write 9512 method. It is more difficult to achieve, so if you have SoftMotion Standard or Premium, I would recommend the move approach outline.

  • is it possible to send airtime on a mac mini and connect to multiple screens (5)?

    Hello - I'm looking to see if it is possible to use Airplay to a Mac Mini and connect to five different views and see the same thought at the same time. I understand that each display would need its own apple tv, but I don't know if it's strictly a ratio of one to one, or it would be better to run the HDMI from the mini and feed a splitter HDMI and wire them hard. I want to run a video loop of an IPAD for the mini and the mini to distribute video on screens. Thank you.

    No, this is not possible with Apple TV.

  • How can I change a variable in a flat sequence and pass it through the sequence at the exit of the Arduino?

    Hi all

    I'm changing the value of the pressure on a Governor for some time intervals, i.e., 20 5 sec then 2 sec 5 lb/po2. Since it is an easy task, I decided to use a sequence of flat but I couldn't take the pressure value and feed it into the Arduino PIN. I'm sure that it is an easy task, but I'm not good in Labview.  How can I do this?

    Thanks in advance.

    This is a very primitive solution (I do not have the makings of the arduino, so I left that.)

    Note that this is not very scalable. To get the best control use a wait state and the elapsed time of VI express to determine when to go to the State following the election.

  • Ridge SVFA and the Relative Phase amplitude must be reentrant

    I think I found an obscure problem with one of the "Baseband FFT" s VI on the 'Frequency analysis' subpalette of the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite. "

    The "Peak Amplitude and Relative Phase SVFA" is set to no reentrant run, but I think it must be defined on preallouee clone running reentrant.  All the other "Baseband FFT" Vi on the 'Analysis of the frequencies' subpalette are implemented reentrant preallouee clone.  This is crucial, because if you use multiple instances of the same VI on a block diagram and feed each instance of another set of entries of waveforms, each instance must maintain its own internal state FYI channel, sampling rate, on average, etc.

    I just found out the hard way after a lot of debugging this including VI has been implemented not reentrant.  On average maintained automatically delivered to zero with warning 1908.  Of course, I had two instances in my diagram, each receiver signals a different set of channels.  Because the VI is not reentrant, he was running an instance with a set of inputs of waveform, then execution of the other instance with a different waveform entries together, then in back and automatically reset on average to each time because the channels kept alternating.

    Don't I have that right?

    Jeremy,

    Looks like our test coverage can use some improvements. You're absolutely right - this VI was to have been put to preallouee clone environment. EI which was originally filed repsonded CAR # 570225 to our development team and it's been fixed for the next version of the software Sound and Vibration.

    Each new version, we write one articulates KnowledgeBase documenting these fixes, for example: the list of fixed bug in 2015.

    Keep an eye on fixed bug list for the next version and this CAR ID to appear in this topic.

  • RT: fault 9512 module when you use the hybrid mode

    Hello, I have a problem with my configuration of hyrbid cRIO. I am currently using Labview 2010, cRIO-9074, x 1 NI 9234, and NI 9512 3 x.

    Summary:

    What you trying to accomplish?

    -J' built two screws, one who acquires the data of a NI 9234. This vi is one that uses the FPGA due to 51.2 kHz sampling frequency needs. The other is to playback motion and three NI 9512 s (scan mode) encoder. Both work fine separately (on the same FPGA bitfile), but when I copy and paste the VI for the NI 9234 in VI for the 3 9512 x s and click Run, the fault of motors.

    What are the steps needed to reproduce the problems?
    Click on execute in the joint (prepared program_2VItesting.vi).

    What measures, if any, you have taken to solve all the problems and the results of your attempts
    -J' have confirmed that if I turn the two screws separately, they work fine. The first time I combine work 9512 s for a second (i.e. the engines a bit) on the two screws. Then he cracks. I then used the distribution manager to clear the fault and run it again (note: there is no error code, I just erase the Red led on the module by changing the configuration mode and active mode). Every time the first time the engines do not move at all.

    -J' have confirmed that I have properly configure this kB from hybrid mode:
    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/0DB7FEF37C26AF85862575C400531690

    I have attached the vi of two combined screw (prepare program_2VITesting.vi) together. Half upper is program FPGA copied and pasted (as noted by the reference open VI) and the bottom is the scan mode (as noted by the timed loop). I've also attached the separate screw (program prepared and JustDAQ) that can also work well now by pressing justing run.

    Am I missing something simple here right?

    Thank you

    Troy

    So it turns out that you just put the cRIO in Setup mode when you set up your open your ref FPGA and reset. Then change to the active mode (any program) before you do anything else in your program (i.e. the very very beginner). A picture is attached.

  • Improved LabVIEW 5.1 to 7.1 and got errors

    Hello

    I upgraded from LabView 5.1 to 7.1.

    With labview 7.1, I opened a VI that is written in labview 5.1, I got an error saying something like

    The labView won't pass the value and I use InRange and Coarce... (it was repeated several times) I've closed, but after I run the VI, the labview does not communicate with the freezing. where he worked very well with LabView 5.1.

    one has an idea of what's going on! How can I get this error massage once again to see what it was! and how can I resolve this issure!

    Thank you

    It wasn't an error message. It was a warning that said you that the original VI was the controls on the front panel configured to use a range under duress. What it means to you, it's that with 7.1 the mechanism only works when you use the Control Panel before you enter the value manually. If you use the VI as a Subvi and feed it a value that is out of reach, then the parameters of coercion will not apply and the Subvi get the range without coercion. So, if you brought together making sure that the slot - VI would have never received one out of bound value then you must add a stove and Coerce function in the Subvi to ensure that if the Subvi is powered a value programmatically, and then he will be forced to be in the range.

    I have doubgt that causes the problem to not communicate with your device unless the value created a kind of parameter associated with certain communication parameters.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 - paper format and copy

    I have an original document which is 216 x 330mm (8.5 x 13 in) and the paper of the same size. I want to copy the document to its original on the document size. When I try this, thumbs down, or so of the original are not copied. Now, for reasons known only to HP, the "Paper size" menu (on the printer) in the copy options gives a very limited number of possible paper sizes, and 8.5 x 13 is not one of them. From there, I understand:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/scanning-faxing-and-copying/unable-to-copy-legal-size-on-HP7610/m-p/297...

    that replace the region of the printer setting affects which paper sizes are available under the menu copy and this seems to be true, but I tried a lot of different countries and none of them include 8.5 x 13.

    My only option was to scan the document and print it then my PC. Note that when you print from the PC the 8.5 x 13 size is available, and if I get the result I want - an enlarged copy on paper of the same size. However, it's much slower just made a copy of the printer, and if I had to copy a large number of documents, it would be really possible.

    So is there a solution to this? I for the life of me don't understand why everyone thought it would be a good idea to limit considerably the range of sizes available destination when copying. What would be really nice would be to have all of the available formats, the same list see you if you go to 'Print Options' on the PC, the printer, what that is the region, and if this list is deemed to be a bit heavy so to choose the settings by default, perhaps in an 'Advanced' options menu

    Hi Bell,

    I cut paper format legal until Folio and tested on a 8600 JO.

    I found that the setting of the copy to legal size and feed the page via the ADF has copied the entire page on Folio paper I created.

    There is no errors if the printer did not bother the paper more short.

  • In another thread - another method and then run Sub...

    I wrote a method to extract a string from a webpage using StreamConnection and it works perfectly... except that it runs on the main thread.  I wonder if there is a simple way to have a method that returns an object (String in this case) something to run on a thread and return it to the first thread.

    Everything I try the only thing I can get to work on the second thread is what's on the run method void, but that returns nothing... because it sucks...

    Until now what I thought is to pass the variables I need in the constructor, then set the connection stream real term where I want retruned is written in a class variable and another method that returns the class variable that has been filled with the run method... but that doesn't seem to just... thought he worked in a simple test I ran...

    A slightly different way (but completely equivalent) to work in a another thread is to create a class that implements Runnable and feed a thread. If, for any reason, you do not want to expand Thread (because your worker class extends already something else and it would be difficult to refactor), then this variant is a lifeline. You do something like this:

    class WorkerClass extends AnotherClass implements Runnable {    // ...    public void run() {       // do time-consuming work here    }}

    // later...WorkerClass worker = new WorkerClass();// initialize worker object. Then: new Thread(worker).start();

    As it is easy to turn a class in an executable (you simply add "implements Runnable" and a run() method), it's an easy way to avoid the subclassing Thread.

    Regardless of how you use to perform work in a separate thread, there is always the question of how to get the results. With the help of the observer is a common way to handle this, but in general, this means that the results are returned in the worker thread, not the thread from the main event. If you want to update the user interface, this can be a problem. Another approach is to structure your code something like the following:

    /** * Process the results of some time-consuming operation. */public void acceptResults(ResultType result) {  // ...}

    /** * Start a thread to carry out time-consuming work in a * separate thread and deliver the results back in the * event dispatching thread. */public void launchWork() {  new Thread() {        public void run() {           final ResultType res = computeResults();          Runnable r = new Runnable() {                public void run() {                   acceptResults(res);               }         }         Application.getApplication().invokeLater(r);      }

           /**        * Do time-consuming work in this method       */       private ResultType computeResults() {         // connect to server, interpret reply, etc.       } }.start();}

    You have the right idea that is running in a thread separate is how to manage a time consuming task. The point of all, however, is that you (the event dispatching thread) don't want to wait for the task at hand. Both the observer model and the code here offer a solution for a worker thread to do the work without blocking the thread of the event. The invokeLater() method was kindly provided by BlackBerry people to give the worker threads neatly transfer control on the event dispatching thread when needed.
