I don't have a Windows XP disk, the PC was already installed with it when I bought it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Follow the instructions below.

Click on the link below. Download the rundll32 file (uploaded by me if it's safer). Save the file to your desktop. Right-click on the file and choose copy. Now click on start > run > paste the following command. c:\Windows\System32 > Ok. When the folder opens, you see a message that these files are hidden. In the left pane, click on the link to view the contents of this folder, as shown in the image on the second link below. Once the content is visible, right-click in the free space in the system32 folder and choose Paste. If you are prompted to replace an existing file, click Yes. Close all windows.

Click on start > run > type cmd > Ok. On the command line, right click and paste the following code exefile = assoc.exe > press ENTER. Close command prompt. Now try to open any executable file (a game or any application). Be advised, the file download will expire after 3 days. This is the result of the use of the free version of filemail.com.

  • How can I check my Mac mini for spyware and other viruses

How can I check my Mac mini for software spyware and other forms of virus? Recently, I received an electronic invoice which seems to come from Apple on a purchase that I did not. Unfortunately, I answered by clicking on a link that asked me to cancel or manage this purchase that led me to a site that didn't look like an official Apple site. I am afraid that simply by doing so, I welcomed the spyware on my Mac mini hard drive.

My Mac was purchased in 2011 and runs on OS X El Capitan (version 10.11.6).

    Kind regards

    Politkovskaya

Receive a fraudulent e-mail for a purchase confirmation, you did not is a very common scam. Remember that you are not misled by providing personal information solicited by this e-mail.

Unfortunately, I answered by clicking on a link that asked me to cancel or manage this purchase that led me to a site that didn't look like an official Apple site. I am afraid that simply by doing so, I welcomed the spyware on my Mac mini hard drive.

No harm will come of the fact that you wrote. Fraudulent Web sites that are made to appear as legitimate those who are specially designed to convince you to reveal personal information. If you don't have that, no further action is necessary or justified. Do not install anything, no matter the source or the apparent popularity, in response to one such scam. To do this would be the first step in a path well worn to the misery.

On the other hand, if you were tricked into providing personal information (like your Apple ID and password) you will need to change your password on Apple ID. Please write back for instructions.

  • Vista Antivirus a scam and a virus itself? I can't access my laptop at all now them! Help!

I couldn't access internet because the Antivirus Vista kept blocking me.  He said I had all kinds of virus and you need to get rid of them.  He said that I could go on, but it would be dangerous for my laptop.  I didn't buy any agreement at the time so I pressed this button.  He took me in circles so that the only way that I could access my internet was for the purchase contract.  AND NOW I CAN NOT AT ALL ON MY LAPTOP!  I'm on my home desktop version.

How can I get rid of this?  Is it really a virus in itself?  I lost all my information stored on my laptop?

When I turn it on I hear a high-pitched noise and flickering icons that used I can access.  In fact, I can't access anything whatsoever.  It wouldn't start even down when I do CTRL ALT DELETE.  I actually turn off with the same results that I boot up (flickering of the icons that will let me open anything).

Did I just buy a scam, but also a virus?  Is there a phone number or anyway for me to get my laptop back up for delete AND GET MY MONEY BACK?

For those of you thinking of buying this, I wouldn't NOT SUGGEST.

    Hello, Cyndi

Try to start your computer in safe mode. If you're able to boot in safe mode, follow the steps indicated by SpiritX under the following link to remove the program: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/how-do-i-get-rid-of-antivirus-vista-2010/e416f5a6-8ddb-4564-8aa3-f0ae6cdfe5f6

To start in safe mode, shut down your computer and then turn it on, press F8 repeatedly while it starts and you must come to the advanced boot screen asking what you want to do, select Mode safe mode with networking.

While my father was reading a newspaper site he opened an article for a piece of news, and it seems that a Trojan horse is entered with the page. Then the virus started working and it refuses to open the driver of operating "C:\". "normally by clicking on it and it offers my father whenever the full Version that the trial version is a job. And when my Dad tried to uninstall "C:\". "when he was able to open it, the filr did not contain an uninstall file for it ("for sure it's a virus') and then try to delete from (add or remove programs, he took, but it did not!.) And enter the "C:\". ", try to delete the file, it did not and trying to delete every file inside one at a time some has been removed and some have refused to. And the computer is taken over by this thing and the name is "Antivirus" and apearing as a.

The more fast, effective and safe method for the cleaning of these infections is with a Linux based rescue CD. You will need to download an ISO, burn it to a CD, configure the system to boot from the firstCD/DVD drive and then boot the system with the CD so that the hard disk is not Active.
If you choose to go this route, see - Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10
The articles on this page will show you exactly what to do.

Or, you could try to start the computer in Mode safe mode and see if the system restore can successfully restore the system to just before he became infected.
If you are more comfortable as well, see - How to restore Windows XP to a previous state
Choose a restore point created at least 2 days before the date that the system become compromised.

Make sure you use ALL the methods to search for malware, including the online scanners.

If you make a new account and connected to it and still could not download from ANY site (not only

as indicated above. Then, start a new account.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.
