PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (nvlddmkm.sys)
Hello
I used to have a BSOD, DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, which fixed by updating my Nvidia driver. Now I keep having PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (nvlddmkm.sys). I don't know if it's the problem of the driver, but it's really annoying. My computer freezes at random about 2 - 5 times a day. While watching videos, playing games, surfing on the web and just being AFK. I studied the problem a lot and I have not found a solution for it.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 2 GB of VRAM
64-bit Windows 8
Acer Aspire V3 - 571 G
If the problem is not resolved, I'm going to get it fixed, it is still under warranty. Although it is like 100 km by bus... :/
Hi LG33,
I do not think that you have owned this camera very long, so I'll assume that the graphics card is not defective. This is usually caused by a driver problem. I would say do a refresh on your system (no data loss) by following the steps listed here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
Try it, if you still have questions after probably have a hardware problem.

Hi, well bad get right to it. I have a dell studio XPS 1340 and have recently upgraded to Windows 7 last week. everything was fine until last Monday. When I switched high performance mode for my battery, my nVidia card also goes to Boost Performance. but this time, I got a blue screen with this:
nvlddmkm.sys
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Since then I tried to update the video driver from the dell site and even the nVidiasite. one of them gives me a blue screen as soon as I get to the windows login screen. and the other divides my GeForce 9500 M into its two parts > GF 9400 MG + GF 9200 AMS. When this happens, I can't use the nvidia Control Panel and I can't go to boost performance. I have uninstalled and installed these drivers in safe mode too, but no luck. I system restored before the weekend, when everything was fine, but still the same problem. so now, I have the driver 8.15.11.8633 version
other side effects I've noticed is that Skype does not work either. When I first upgraded to win 7, Skype has worked well. but now, when I run a video or normal call, my computer completely freezes. In addition, the games I play seem to decrease in performance. I used to be able to play very good Burnout Paradise, but now there is a significant drop in fps. also, the computer seems to use more cpu and heats more quickly. The battery life has decreased too. and when I use windows media center to connect with my xbox360, my phone freezes when I try to access a video.
I tried the diagnostics start and the only problem was:
Error code: 0F00:133 media suitible C Msg:No drive is present
and today, I used the windows debugger and it came with it. im sure this is good information, but I don't know how interperate it. Please help and thanks in advance!

Hi anchit02,
Thanks for posting.
The page fault has a high probability to be RAM or hard drive related.
You can test the computer memory using the memory diagnostic tool.
You can start the memory Diag tool by clicking the ORB start and type 'Memory diagnostic tool' in the search box, clicking on the entry that is displayed.

Satellite L50T - A047 PSKL6V crash - Win 8 - nvlddmkm.sys
Hi - I need some help please.
My computer crashes, even after a complete restoration with the BSOD message above.
+ Win 8 - unexpected Kernel Mode trap (nvlddmkm.sys) +.
I tried to update the NVIDIA driver, but it will not update. All Windows updates are current as of yesterday. It seems more crash when trying to access file Explorer.
This machine is 2 months old.
I could really use some suggestions or solutions!I have restored the machine to factory settings and still no problem crashing.
Thanks in advance...

After the new reboot, you should clean the system using tools such as for example: CCLeanerAlso look for a "Minidump" folder in the disk Local (c) / Windows and remove this "Minidump" folder located in "(c) / Windows.

I've had Windows Vista for about 2 weeks now, and I've done 4 fees installs try different confgurations for this error to the LESS to a minimum. When I use the operating system 3d treatment, I get the error...
"Display driver nvlddmkm.sys has stopped responding and has recovered."
This seems to be a plague of Vista users, on searching the net for an answer as to why, it seems to happen for all versions of Vista both 32 and 64-bit. Happeneing for people using different video card, ATI and nVIDIA chips. NVIDIA users get nvlddmkm.sys error and ATI users get the error atikmdag.sys.
This error most commonly appens when I'm a game or using a 3D or graphics program such as GIMP and the Blender and rarely when just using the Explorer. The program that I use currently hangs, and I use the "Task Manager" to stop the programme concerned. If I reboot the system, I get this error whenever I'm trying to use the same or similar program. After the reboot, it is just a matter or an hour, it seems, before that happens again.
For me personally this has happened using 3 chipsets of different motherboard and 3 different video cards. Same scenario is becoming very frusterating. Someone has ideas News on how to stop this?
Hi V3X,
Please use the forum for Support of Vista,
Unfortunately, it is a known problem that occurred in Vista and Nvidia or Ati driver as you said. It is not a fix for this yet. There are a few works about depend on the hardware you have. If you communicate with Nvidia, they will be able to tell you exactly what to do to work around this problem.
Sorry again.

nvlddmkm.sys causes BSODHello
I can't boot Vista from a week or two. Just before that the login screen should apear, it crashes into a BSOD, claiming that the problem is the driver nvlddmkm.sys.
I was checking the Internet for days now (a lot of forums), and it seems to be a 'common' problem, that occur with all the hardware and software of sorts features. I tried almost everything to fix, but nothing seems to work.Is there a solution for this problem?
Maarten
Compaq Presario SR1909, 7600GS, Vista Home Premium gForce.
Hi Maarte61,
Unfortunately, I think would be the driver or the card itself. Since it worked fine, then just stopped. My best guess would be that the card is the issue. You can cancel the driver installation when you arrive at the normal mode? If so, I would try cancel and download the new driver. Or if your in "safe mode with network" I go ahead and download them and ask them to loan. So if you can cancel it, you wouldn't have to go download them. Let us know and thanks again for posting.
Thank you

Original title: nvlddmkm.sys does not
Just started having this couple weeks message. Killed or damaged at least one of my 9800 GT cards (SLI), which have been replaced under warranty. Who sets the part of the question of the display, but still cannot access to Starcraft II or LOTRO - connect and just get a black screen (have sound, no picture). Then the message "nvlddmkm.sys not answer but recovered" then nothing and having to use task Mgr to close the program. Here's the suspect: update the video driver (uninstalled old, clean install) which again helped a little but the screen remains black when entering the games. While they inspected the files, the file Nvidia\Displaydriver shows the new driver as the device Mgr when I check that. BUT then when I check the directory ofC:\windows\system32\drivers there is still an OLD version of nvlddmkm.sys. I'm sure that it is the culprit, but it won't let me delete it or rename it who were other corrections that I read about. I know that this is an endemic problem with Windows and has been for awhile now. ANY suggestions?
Hi malomar,.
1. This only happens when you play Starcraft II and LOTRO?
You can try to uninstall and reinstall all the programs and features Nvidia drivers and Device Manager.
Step 1:
Uninstall the audio drivers from programs and features
a. click on start
b. type appwiz.cpl in the start search
c. search for all driver packages, Nvidia, right click and uninstall.
Step 2:
Uninstall the drivers from Device Manager.
a. click on start
b. type devmgmt.msc in search, and then press enter
c. in find Manager device for the device, right-click on it and select the option uninstall.
After you remove the drivers of these two places, you can try to remove the NVIDIA folder and restart to see if that solves the problem after I installed the generic drivers.
Step 3:
To delete the folder:
one. Click on start and Type C:\windows\system32\drivers folder in start search
b. click on drivers and select nvlddmkm.sys
c. right click and rename nvlddmkm.sys in nvlddmkm.sys.old. or delete.
d. restart the computer and check.
You can also check the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers from Nvidia:
http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Also check the Nvidia support link:

My computer has an nvidia 9800 gt. Since then, a week ago that I am unable to play a video game, or use windows media center. If I ever start a video game or windows media center the program crashes and I get the error message, "nvlddmkm.sys has stopped responding and has recovered." A few times, I get a message from the blue screen and the computer needs to restart. I reinstalled the drivers and even restored software from my computer to the original factory condition. A year ago I noticed my computer screen would get dark, as if I was wearing sunglasses. I want to restart my computer and the screen would be normal again. I was wondering if my video card burned to some, and if I need a new video card. The average temperature of my videocard 76 degrees Celsius, is 167 degrees Fahrenheit.

The best sources of information would be Nvidia Support, their documentation online and their

T410 nvlddmkm.sys BSOD on startup
Hi all
I had my T410 since the end of last month and had a BSOD on startup several times so far. Whenever I caught, I noticed that the driver nvlddmkm.sys nvidia was the cause. Each time the BSOD, I get the prompt "windows did not start successfully", how by selecting "Start windows normally" translates the fine start System. Since this BSOD is only presented to a cold start, I'm not too hampered by it outside my boot up times by doubling the time it does. I ran the update of the bios/driver Thinkvantage, as well as I'm running with the latest updates for Win7 Pro x 64.
Everyone knows this? If so, have you found a solution? No matter what Lenovo personal support out there have an entry?
Thank you

Hey there,
My computer has started planting since yesterday. I played a game for a while and it might or might not be related; Eitherway, it suddenly froze the system unexpectedly and I had to reset my pc. After that system started correctly. I ran the game again to see what's going on, and unfortunately, it crashed the system again; has had to reset hard once more. After that, I got a BSOD with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL score to nvlddmkm.sys. I tried to reboot once more to see if it disappears and the system charged up to the floating logo of W7, but I only got a black screen afterwards, no login screen either. I wasn't able to boot the system normally more, forcing me to use safe mode. After checking terrils, I decided to uninstall completely nvidia drivers and that helped - loaded correctly and installed system software of windows default driver.
Right now I'm in a situation where Windows seems to work stable unless I have try re-installing the drivers nvidia; In doing so, does not load results in a system and the BSOD screen again after W7 logo, no matter how many times I restart.
My basic features are:
Gigabyte P35-DS3R
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.40 ghz, oc'ed to stable 3.20 ghz)
8 GB DDR2 RAM
Gigabyte Geforce GTX460 1 GB of RAMSamsung 840 EVO 120 GB
ST1000DM003-1SB10C 1 TB
Silentium VERO L1 600W
W7 Pro SP1 with all latest updates
Here are the dumps (contains the dump of the first and the last being).
So far what I've done - tried unplugging all devices (including my Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Sigma headset), uninstalled Avast antivirus, tried reinstalling drivers nvidia in two different ways (of unsuccessfully); clean the GPU/CPU/power supply. I'm slowly running out of ideas. To add, I never really had problems with my PC - it works all the time for 8-9 years with no issues whatsoever and I moved from c2d e6750 and GTS250 a year (or more) there are what I currently; never had any problems with these components, either. I always intend to Exchange my gpu for further testing, but since I do not have an integrated GPU and video signal passes through GTX460, I don't really know if there is a damaged graphics card (perhaps wrong, however).
If anyone knows what is the origin of the problem and what can be done to avoid a full system reinstall, I would be really grateful for any help.
Update:
I swapped the GTX460 with my old GTS250 for test. Apparently, it seems that the GTX460 was damaged and all misleading BSOD was actually caused by defective behavior. Fix to 750ti in a while.
Edit [21/05/2016]:
I swapped to 750ti and all is well again. This case can be considered resolved.

Blue screen after TDR nvlddmkm.sys
Hi all
Every day I get a followed of a BSOD nvlddmkm.sys TDR. It occurs when suring the web, or by using excel, or even just after the start. Have spent countless hours of research on this. Here is my card and the DMP file. Any help is greatly appreciated! I am using EVGA GTX260 but used 9800GTX + and received the same error message. I also tried all 195.62 to 257.21 drivers, do an uninstall of older drivers and the installation of new drivers in safe mode, driver Sweeper, etc. and even made several own OS installations. I also modified the registry for graphic TDR to a second value 8. I'm at a loss to know what to do now. Sorry for the long post, but thanks in advance!

You got error checking 0 116 x which is a VIDEO_TDR_ERROR - "This indicates that an attempt to reset display driver and recover a timeout failed."Without doubt, update the video driver, downgrade the driver (if the last update does not work), or uninstall and reinstall the latest driver. Updated the firmware, downgrade the firmware (if the last update does not work). Make sure that you use the latest BIOS for your motherboard as well. If you are overclocking, stop. You have other video material, you can try?The last before the bugcheck error code was STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_RESOURCES (0xc000009a) - insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.It seems that some happening exhaustion of critical resources. Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine what is depleted or which API is a failure. If you start in safe mode, do you still feel bugs? What if you do a clean boot, or boot device? Can you periodically check the Process Explorer'ssystem information window and note all values that seem to be increasing without limit? You can download the c:\windows\minidump on your SkyDrive content and provide a link? -

When I get a black screen with a 'trrrrrrr' background, I played Guild Wars 2. Unfortunately, the only way to fix this is to press the reset button :(
I have a problem with versions 331.82 and 332.21 graphics drivers.
I shared my Minidump file on my Skydrive.

This phenomenon was related to nvlddmkm.sys nVidia Display Driver. There is a known issue with the current driver (your own). I would setup an older driver (older than 6 months, for example) until they release a less conductive buggy.

Hello
I get a blue screen with the following error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (win32k.sys). This happens whenever I start. My computer will be turned on and be normal for the first five minutes, and then all of a sudden, I get this error.
The computer I use is that I built myself. Here are some features:MSI - card mother B75A-G43-Processor Core Intel i5-3570-RAM Kingston 8GThe computer is running Windows 8 Pro with Media Center (32 bit). I'm also using AVG Internet Security.I have not installed new hardware recently and the only software I had installed before this error was Adobe Reader XLAny help would be great.Thank youVincehttp://www.Avg.com/us-en/utilities AVG Remover, I would like firstly, uninstall AVG, restart the computer, and then run the AVG Remover and restart another. Try to run a day or so... on the default windows Defender. AVG can be reinstalled quite simple if this is not the cause.
Typically when its saying Page fault in nonpaged area... makes me think it could be bad memory, or some installed program writing to the wrong places. Remove 1 stick of 4 GB? and swap to test each?
