Pages stops and freezes computer

I have a 13 inch, MacBook Air (early 2014), which is running OSX Yosemite (Version 10.10.5).

Processor speed: 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Storage capacity: 5.8 GB free of 102.1 GB

My version of Pages is: 5.6.1

Pages crashing for no apparent reason.

The cursor will move an arrow on the vertical mark for text and rest like that, even when I'm not working on the text.

So I find that I can't do anything. Can not open anything, anything nearby.

I tried to use the standard procedure to abort (control-alt-esc) and it does not work.

So I have to hold the power button until the computer turns off.

What should I do about it?

You are well below the rest of minimum storage OS X requires for its own stable operation. At the very least, will need you about 10 GB of free storage just for OS X. For a double whammy, if you have too many applications running depleting available 4 GB of RAM, so clearly, which will cause bad extra to your user experience. One or two of these conditions may cause the operating system and/or Pages hanging when resources dip too low.

Task #1

  1. Your home directory is full of things that must be identified and moved to the external, or saved and removed from your boot disk storage.
    1. Use OmniDiskSweeper carefully to identify the files in your directory by size. I would recommend your directory to backup first.
    2. Never remove parts of OS x Ever.
    3. Right now, I have 60 GB available out of 120 GB boot drive and a 8 GB machine. No Pages v5.6.1 crashes at all.

Group #2

  1. Once completed the task 1. Shut your Mac down (not a reboot).
  2. Safe Mode boot
    1. Press the power button, then press on and hold down the SHIFT key until the progress bars appear.
    2. The connection of full-screen window, you will see Safe Boot in red letters in the upper right screen.
      1. After you type your password, press in and hold the SHIFT key down again and click the right arrow to open a full session. Release the SHIFT key when you see your desktop icons.
    3. In start mode, press on and hold down the SHIFT key while you open the document that was in v5.6.1 Pages when he hung earlier. Save the document.
      1. Pages v5.6.1 hangs in Safe Boot mode?
  3. Restoring normal operation
  4. Make the point 2 c to evaluate the behavior of v5.6.1 Pages after the release of a storage capacity, a secure boot and with no other applications running.
    1. Stable?

  • Satellite Pro A200 (PSAF4A) - HARD drive stops and the computer crashes

    Hello

It's my first post in this forum, but certainly not my first issue

I recently had to re - install Windows Vista on my laptop because I had an undetectable virus that attacked Windows and made him useless.
Before that, I had many, many startup errors and windows crashes, but which were preventable or fixable. After the re - install, I noticed that windows stability was much better until recently.

I have not changed the settings or anything what so ever on my computer laptop which could affect the performance somehow, but I have a new problem.

If I have my computer running, performing tasks of base for a few hours I notice that performance and all of a sudden my computer completely stops responding.
The disk shows no signs of life after this point, and his only solution is a "disruptive Shutdown.
This appears in the reliability monitor and performance that all this, there is no input error, and nothing is done after.

I also noticed if either windows defender or other my antivirus runs a system scan that my performance is reduced to the point where I can't run a simple task like opening an Explorer window. This also translates to total non-response. This never happened before a week ago and now it happens every time.

These two started within the past few days and there is no clear reasoning behind it. My inactivity of the processor is always the same, no new processors added and no settings changed.

This could be a problem with Windows, my HARD drive, my CPU or something worse?

Is there a reason why is happening and is there a solution either of these problems?

First of all, you reinstall Windows with the Toshiba recovery disc or disc of Microsoft?

It's strange and not easy to say what's wrong, but in your case I would test the RAM and HARD drive.

There are special tools to test the following:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
    http://Memtest86.com/

On the two Web site, you can download a CD image. Burn it to a CD, start with him and then you can test parts.

  • Adobe Premiere using 99% of memory and freezing computer

    Hey all,.

I encountered a problem with Adobe Premiere use almost all of my computers from active memory. I use first very well for about two months and was in the middle of editing a video of 5 minutes. Usually, when I'm editing, in the Task Manager, he said I use about 4 k Mo of memory. Now all of the sudden opening of this project, I use 12 k Mo of memory. The project is delayed, stops responding and hangs my computer. I don't know what caused it. I have a laptop ASUS game that is more than capable of dealing with this software and it worked perfectly. Something to note is that all this happened last Friday, after that I updated the first. Any help finding this would be really appreciated!

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

    -

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

    -

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To do that click on start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

    `

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and make it regular periodic updates.

  • Virus scan Avira would stop working and freeze the computer whenever an analysis was carried out. Tried to uninstall and reinstall, but still had the same problem. Impossible to uninstall now due CCPLG. XML error.

Hello, I have been using Avira anti-virus on my computer for the past two years with no problems.  I run a scan on my computer every day and noticed problems with it a few days ago.  The analysis would be about 21% when he would stop scanning and freeze my computer.  The RAM would be also be maxed out at 100%, and I need to restart the computer manually.  When I ran the scan in safe mode, it worked fine, but then continued to not work when the computer is not in safe mode.  I would also get a security alert Windows telling me that Windows did not antivirus software on this computer.  I tried to do a system restore which goes back to the day before the problem started to happen with the scan, but I still have the same problem.  I tried to uninstall the program again, but I get the message: Setup could not determine feature control file, or was not able to read it properly the. I also received a message about CCPLG. XML. I don't know what to do at this point or what was wrong in the first place with my antivurus software, but I feel that I continue to do worse with everything I want to do about it.  If you can offer any help with this problem, it would be much appreciated.  I have to go to work now, so I'll check tomorrow and hope that someone decided to go back to me.  Thank you.

  • my computer guard stop and start then I am browsing

I have windows 7 installed in my computer. I'm not very tech savvy and don't know why, but the computer continues to stop and then hesitating and eventually go back to the top while I am browsing through Facebook or other Web sites. The computer is not shut down it's just sort of freezes. Also, I got messages saying that "pages do not react. I tried troubleshooting from my control panel and it worked once. It detected the problem corrected, and my computer was quick again. Now, it's back to frost up and such. I tried to resolve yet and that is to say 'no problem not detected '. This is why I post here. Again, I am not tech savvy so I have no idea what to do.  The other time the computer (when I did the first troubleshooting), I first called my cable company where I have my modem and wifi. Everything on their end was perfect. No problem there.  They suggested I have delete my browsing history. I did it. Nothing. It's still (once again) slowing down, freezing and eventually go back to the top.

Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated!

In addition, if the problem persists try a "clean boot" and see if that solves the problem:

    https://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135?WA=wsignin1.0

If a clean boot helps there are other measures in the article trying to find out what is causing the problem and then you could return to a normal startup.

  • Problem stopping and restarting the computer

    Hello

I searched for so long for a solution, until I decided to post a question here.

Whenever I have shut down my computer (via Start menu / alt + f4) the computer off first and perform a restart immediately afterwarrds.

Well, this is what happens ALL the time. My computer stops and restarts, until I am led the newspaper to the page. On the page (after ctrl + alt + del) to connect, I keep having the same problem after pressing the off button.

It's extremely frustrating because I have two options:

Leave my computer running in locked mode (allowing my computer to heat and drain its battery)

    or

Force a stop down by holding the power button down (damage my computer system - directed to a page (for running normal windows not start))

Open Power Options - you can do it from the control panel by typing Power Options in the start menu, or by right click on the battery icon in your system tray (right end of the taskbar.)
Click on "change plan settings" for your current power management.  On the next page, click "Change advanced power settings".  On the box that opens, expand 'Power buttons and lid', then 'action close cover.'  Change the selection to "on battery" to the 'status quo', and then click OK.  Close the power Plan window.
