Palm pre Exchange account "reply-to" address

I use a gmail account that transmits all messages from my exchange for active sync account. I exchange installation using my gmail address as the reply address for all the emails I send. Whenever I have send emails from my pre, however, he was sent "reply-to: [email protected]" in the header with more wrinkles that

is it possible to disable it, or even better to have the 'reply-to address' configurable for Exchange accounts in the same way, it's for IMAP/POP accounts?

Ok... I found an answer to this (maybe). Here are the steps I took:

1 remove the phone exchange account

2. tap Add an account and type the e-mail address you want the answer-be

3. tap on the field of password to enable the field (cannot be nessary)

4. tap on the app menu in the upper left corner and go to manual settings

5. finish filling in info server, user, domain, Word of past

Worked for me

  • Palm Pre & Exchange - impossible to validate the account settings

I tried to get my pre sync with Exchange and make it work properly.  I got a few different error messages along the way, but now I seem to be stuck again.  Here's what I've done so far:

    1. entered my info the new account screen.  Come on an "impossible to validate the account settings" error.  I was using the following information:

    E-mail type: Exchange (EAS)

    Email address: {My Email}

    Incoming mail server: http://{ServerName}/exchange

    Domain: {DomainName}

    User name: {my domain user name}

    Password: {password}

2A got the 1.0.2 update and the error message I tried again, same.

3 Configuring SSL on the exchange server and tried https rather than http.  Same error message.

4A changed username to {domainname} \ {UserName}.  SSL certificate error received.

    5. follow-up to the steps in the forums to install the root certificate.  Now make error "your username or password is not correct". I tried to enter my password several times to check that I wasn't go bad at.

If I take the domain name on the username back to the incapable person to validate the error of account settings.  Anyone has any ideas on what could cause this problem?

    Hi avsfan273,

First of all, you defintely should not put the domain\\user before your user name as a field dedicated for it on the meadow. Let's get out the part and focus on the error you get when it is configured in this way. Can you post the exact error message that you receive?

  • Palm pre - name account profile

I've updated my account name to palm profile via the section account management on the palm Web site, it has also changed under the backup application on the pre.  But when I'm in contacts > preferences & accounts. It still shows the old name of the Palm profile account.  Any way to have this update to the new name?

Found this one.  It will update the show name for the palm profile (Contacts > preferences & account, there are stream) If you delete the profile on your phone and add it again.

  • Google Contacts do not appear to sync or not all download on my Palm Pre contacts

    UPDATE (with solution):

    @darqmatter noted:

No amount of purging of contacts has worked for me. I had to remove all instances of contacts with special characters in names (I had 3 symbol #). After that, and 10 minutes from time to analyze contacts, number of contacts read the same thing as "My Contacts" on Google. See also: http://forums.palm.com/t5/webOS-Software/Google-sync-partial/m-p/259891/highlight/false

This was confirmed by @spouse1775: SOLVED! I searched my google contacts for #, & and *.

It seems that synergy has a problem with the contacts that contain characters such as #, & and *. I don't know that there are others. I don't know if it is only in the name field or other fields in a contact as well, but it is a start.

Hello Palm, this is a bug. This must be fixed. Contacts should be able to contain these characters.

    ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

I struggled with this for hours. The new information that I added to a contact on my Palm Pre (my default Google account setup program) do not seem to update my Google matching online contacts. Try to solve the problem, I've completely wiped out my phone and started around. When my account completely downloaded the Google contacts to my pre, I noticed that many of the contacts came down. Whenever I deleted and added the Google account, the same number of contacts came down, always less than the total amount.

After reading a few posts, I found that others understand that spurious characters in a Google contact cause synchronization problems. So, I exported my Google contacts in Outlook CSV files so Google CSV and imported into a blank Google account. Add each of the new Google account on my Pre came back with a number different contacts downloaded, but always lower total online.

Finally, I figured out that export a vCard out of Google Contacts "cleaned" information. When I exported all of my Google Contacts vCard file and imported into a blank Google account, Google downloaded on my pre perfectly all the contacts in this new account and synchronization now seems to work again.

NOTE: the vCard DO NOT maintain the designation of Group contact Google. You need to export a vCard by group and import them into Google by specifying the group in which you want to import the contacts.

I hope this helps. No need to erase your phone or delete your backup profile.

    It worked for me:

    Steps to follow:

    1. remove your Google contacts from your Palm Pre app account

    2. sign in to your Google account and access Contacts

3 export contacts by choosing "Who do you want to export?" and select "vCard file" for "what export format?

    4. save a file of all contacts or a file by group

5 remove all contacts in your Google account online

6 import the vCard in your Google account files, assign to the Group during the import phase, if applicable

    7. Add your Google account as an account in the contacts application on your Palm Pre

No amount of purging of contacts has worked for me. I had to remove all instances of contacts with special characters in names (I had 3 symbol #). After that, and 10 minutes from time to analyze contacts, number of contacts read the same thing as "My Contacts" on Google.

  • Palm pre more (Verizon) does not connect to the Exchange Server

I've been on the phone for 3 days (bought the Verizon Pre the day it came out) and couldn't connect to my companys mail server. I had a Palm Treo 755 for years and have always got my email to that. After days of talk with representatives of the Palm, I am told that no. Verizon Pre is able to connect to a server to exchange corp at this time. I'm quite upset hereby, since after listening to a Council of representatives of Palm, I've had a computer scientist to ensure that our server was updated, we had the correct certificates, etc. This of course took hours to complete, and the person of COMPUTING time is not cheap. So afte spend all that time and money dealing with this, I learned today by a supervisor at Palm that ANYBODY on Verizons network is able to connect to their mail corp server and that it was an issue that is discussed in.

I searched the forums and found a lot of this Sprint service problems, but didn't find any with Verizon. Anyone else out there on Verizon and unable to connect? Or maybe the better question is, someone out there have a pre with Verizon and IS able to connect to their server Exchange (EAS)?

Correction to my last post. After doing a reset on my phone and update of our server, I was able to connect to my email. Thank you for your comments update to SP2. Overall, I am still very upset over the phone support provided Palm. As I mentioned before, I brought to the SP2 SP1 vs option several times by phone and I said whenever it was not the question. Even my computer, have fought a little, to get this update since that he had heard the same information I did representatives of the Palm on the phone. After you have created an account on here and PDAguy pointing me to the long thread about people having a similar problem, I showed it to our it guy and he has fortunately upgraded our server to SP2.

I'm happy to get this issue resolved, but feel still Palm mislead me along the way, probably cost me over $ 400 in IT supports, lost my time and traveling in a Verizon store to swap a perfectly good phone and I try the different options which should not be fooled. I did 3 different calls to Palm (with my COMPUTER technician who has been paid by the hour) and each call lasts about 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. Most of the current time on hold any 'research' rep my question.  Even had a representative on the phone to me lie and tell me that he was able to connect to our server (using my info) with a meadow he had with him. He told me so I had a defective phone, and I was directed to return to Verizon to switch the phone outside. After I had passed the phone out, and of course, it doesn't work, I was then told by another representative of Palm and his superior that it was a known issue and that person is with Verizon was able to connect to a server (with a pre) because of a software problem on the phone. I got a refund from Verizon to get this phone for $149, but with all my time lost, the cost of my computer and the lack of knowledge by representatives of Palm, I think I have probably the most expensive Palm Pre Plus there.

  • HP Touchpad, Palm PRE account and German credit card

I have problem with to enter my credit card information in the HP Touchpad. I had Palm Pre purchased in Germany and I inserted there the German credit card and scheduling of applications worked well. Today I got the new HP Touchpad also bought in Germany. I use the same account as the Palm Pre, but now I am not able to insert my credit card German it as the only available options of countries exist in the United States, Canada and Mexico. What should do?

For all those affected by this issue (App catalog seems does not not domestically, it must), please send me a private Message (PM) to your profile email address. I will present a ticket to have the fixed number for your account.

    Thank you.

  • I need a way to send emails with the SAME unique 'from' and 'reply-to' address that my current method to use a generic account is at the origin of the problems.

I have my own areas and when I email companies and organizations I always give them a single as e-mail address: [email protected]. This helps cut down on SPAM and identifies when organizations are hacked so I can 'kill' individual addresses with my domain registration.

I currently do this by using a temporary NOSPAM Thunderbird "generic" account "from" address (which I need to change from time to time and 'kill' with my domain registration to prevent SPAM) and I change the 'reply-to' address when I send an email to such an organization. What tends to work OK most of the time, but often the 'reply-to' address is lost at the other end, perhaps when the emails are forwarded internally. This can leave some temporary old sent emails "from" addresses never happen to me.

Much cleaner would be to send these emails with identical (and unique) 'from' and 'reply-to' fields. Someone has ideas how to achieve this goal, but obviously without creating an individual account each time? If Thunderbird helped change the address 'from', in special circumstances, it might be a solution.

Have you considered adding several identities to the main account? In addition, there are modules allowing to select the correct identity to send messages:

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Thunderbird/addon/identity-Chooser/

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Thunderbird/addon/correct-identity/

and another which might be of interest: https://www.absorb.it/virtual-id

  • "Security error" when setting 'Microsoft Exchange Hosted Services' Exchange account (user in company)

I am a user in a company with a very large company that actually uses Microsoft Hosted Exchange services hosted by Microsoft employees in their facilities.  I called Palm support and they were clueless and zero help.  The lady pointed me to some Palm article I had already read and only remotely had nothing to do with my problem.  I don't see anything about this error message in the forums and google searches. Sprint has even replaced my other reasons palm pre, and the same error occurs once I configured the exchange account. I also see the error when I set up my account on my pixi nine wives. Our pre and pixi have already exchange accounts set up with success on our phones that are hosted by sherweb. Sherweb's exchange accounts work fine. I tried to set up this account of microsoft hosted exchange 5 - 6 times with the same result. He accepts my configuration information and adds to the list of email accounts available in the meadow. However, it keeps popping up the message stating "error of security policy:"Exchange..." Tap for details"(with a yellow exclamation point). Then he said "Security policy error" the Exchange (first part of my email address) account is disabled because it is impossible to define security policies. "'Leave this option disabled' or 'delete account '. I know that something does not work because it applied a policy of password or PIN on my phone which is not necessary, unless the account has been added. I can also see it in the "Mobile devices" section of outlook web when I login. This is the place in web outlook where you can see the last time the device synchronized, if remote, you can wipe the phone etc. If anyone has an idea how to solve my problem please post. Any ideas? I'm fresh out of ideas on this issue and very frustrated by the Palm developers. Just another example of evil-development and practical tests by Palm. I hope they correct this problem on later versions, but I'm only slightly optimistic that they will never get this medium of exchange e-mail at the level necessary for the support of large corporations. What I know is that my Microsoft Hosted Exchange account works fine on a Windows Mobile phone and an iPhone 3GS (confirmed by the other coworks who have set up their phones using our Exchange services). Accordingly, I have no choice but Palm to blame for this problem instead of Microsoft. Please, Palm fully support microsoft exchange e-mail users!

After a lot of research on the subject, here is my point of view on the State of support for MS Exchange @ Palm and other companies.

Unfortunately, Palm Pre and Pixi, WebOS is not fully supported Microsoft Exchange.  This has led to numerous reports of frustrated customers and countless hours of time wasted by consumers and technical support trying to figure out how to connect these Palm devices to the MS Exchange e-mail servers.  Way to go Palm!  Provide support for all the free email accounts worldwide and decide not to develop a product that is able to support your most rich and more influential-based email clients.  These are the people who are most likely able to spend more money on your mobile products or make decisions for companies that are able to buy huge amounts of smart phones.  Way to go guys!  Penny wise and dollar foolish if you ask me!  Palm supports only partially a handful of MS Exchange security policies.  They document what they take in charge, but they do a very poor job of documenting or even explain the limitations of the software.  Their States of documentation that the security policies that are not supported will not be applied and that users will still be able to connect to the exchange server.  This is certainly not true based on the reported error and other similar user reports.  Here is how iPhone and Palm compare in regards to the support of MS exchange security policy.  Notice in the quotes below the iPhone supports the policy of 'require the encryption of devices' which is very probably used by your greater and more security conscious companies or Government institutions.  I'm sure that Palm's inability to support "device encryption" is why I get this error, even if I have really no way to prove it at the present time.  Come on Palm, if you go to support full POP3 and IMAP, you must provide the full support of the binding protocol and political security by Microsoft Exchange product.  Here is the comparison between iPhone and Palm WebOS:

' Said the site of Apple, the iPhone supports the camera allow, password enabled, allow a Simple password, alphanumeric password, Password Expiration, history of password, Maximum password attempts failed, minimum password length, maximum idle lock, policy, Minimum refresh interval complex character devices. ", require manual synchronization while roaming and - in iPhone OS 3.1 only - require Device Encryption". (13 security policies)

"Palm Web site says its WebOS 1.1 and later support active password, alphanumeric password, password history, Maximum password attempts failed, maximum length password, lock of inactivity maximum, Minimum peripheral characters complex and Password Recovery." (8 security policies)

Windows Mobile 6.1 supports all THE policies.

BlackBerry does not support the EAS (MS Exchange)

Google's Android is not compatible EAS (they may have recently released some support but not full)

Conclusion: If you want a mobile device that fully supports MS Exchange, buy something that is running Windows Mobile 6.1 (or higher) or even an iPhone 3 g (or more).  At least, until Palm decides they want to throw a development more $$ to support Microsoft Exchange E-mail to enhance their level of support.

  • Palm Pre issues I'm having.

I used facebook to add friends to my contact list on my new Palm Pre today. My father didn't is not on Facebook so I had to break his info into my phone on my contact list... not much. When I added his home address, the pre for some reason any linked my facebook account to my contact information for dads. Putting my info in my dads contacts. There is no way to erase it. He said that when I try to delete contacts that I would have to delete all Facebook contacts. ID rather not start over... (frustrated) :/

This really needs to be fixed quickly! I read the other fourms, and many people have simular problems.

Palm please provide a way to delete a contact that is downloaded from Facebook, or Outlook. without having to delete all my contacts and start all over again. It's really * beep * boring!

If anyone has any advice please help

All you have to do is to separate the 2 profiles. Click the Contact in your contacts directory. And then on info here page click on name there at the top. Then it should show both the profiles, click on one and an option is to disassociate the profile, you can also remove the profile from here or do a primary profile. I had a couple do this to me as well, according to the names of people like my brother and the father having the same names. The fact to separate their fixed.

"Palm, please find a way to delete a contact that is uploaded on Facebook or Outlook." without having to delete all my contacts and start all over again. It's really * beep * boring! »

As far as I know Facebook is the only one you can't remove it from. You cannot delete the one your talking together is because its connected to facebook. In this menu, as I said above, you can then remove, or break the link to the facebook no one. I agree on wanting to not have all or nothing with facebook. There are a lot of people I just don't want or need it info in my contacts.

You can delete the others without having to start all over again.

  • Support for CalDAV in Palm Pre

From what I can read on the official homepage and all exams, the calendar in the Palm Pre software is able to synchronize with Google Calendar online.

    My questions are:

    * Is the synchronization takes place using CalDAV?
    * If Yes: can I subscribe to the other CalDAV Google?

When you add calendar accounts, it gives you only the 3 options for MS exchange, Google and Facebook... and no option exists anywhere to add a URL.

  • Palm Pre Outlook synchronization

Yes, Chapura worked very well as a 3rd party. Now they want $$. I paid for this new 'fantastic' phone (along w / monthly rates of Sprint) and I have to pay more to synchronize the phone with Outlook on MY computer? What gives? How can I sync the phone with Outlook 2007 (or any year besides)? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. How many other full apps we will pay to make the phone what to do?

-Not a google account holder, incidentally...

    Tgatah wrote:
Achilles - I'm not a pro at this by all means. Could you explain in short how to manually add Outlook? I believe I have understood but would be much easier with a few simple instructions to follow. On your Pre go to:

Main email page > (email icon, top left corner) preferences & accounts > add an account > Type in your information > once it fails and you receive the prompt 'start again' or 'Ok' press Ok.

Now, you will be at the page 'add an account '.

for the this line, this is where you will need to type in your Outlook configuration. If you have Outlook 2007, where I found this on my own. Not sure if it is in the same place for Outlook 2003.

Open your Outlook > tools > accounts settings > click twice on the Microsoft Exchange Server (should be in the middle of the window under 'Name' & 'Type' > additional settings > click the Connections tab > Settings Proxy Exchange ("To connect to Microsoft Exchange using http" should be checked marked) > use the address that is in the line marked "use this url to connect to my Proxy... etc.) This is the address that you place in your pre for 'Incoming mail server' https://

Area = I have a domain for mine and that's what I used. If you don't have one, just leave it blank

Username = your login user name (sometimes it isn't your e-mail address, and other times it is, depends on your place of work)

Password = your password by e-mail

    Click on "Sign In".

NOTE: If you get to the window of Exchange Proxy settings (listed above in bold) and all fields are empty (https://), chances are your admin does not external devices such as mobile phones, BBerry etc to connect to your servers. Allow him to some companies, some do not.

  • The missing sync for Palm Pre

    Hello

I have a Palm Pre and I am afraid I do not have my data backed up on my computer (what happens if Sprint goes out of business?  What If I change provider at some point?) so I bought The Missing Sync.  It is loaded with problems, as everyone knows... but I have a specific question and I was hoping someone might be able to help.  All my calendar data must be put on a 'My Computer' account, instead of my account 'Palm profile', in order to synchronize with the desktop computer with this software.  The 'My Computer' account always will automatically synchronize to the cloud Palm/Sprint, or in this passage and I'll have a backup of the computer?  I don't know if Palm and Sprint only synchronize the calendar in the Palm profile account data. Anyone know?

    Thank you!

Technical support told you that? It's all on the pre and synergy. This link I posted is info own palms on the pre and Google. Sometimes I wonder about the people in the Sprint.

Yes its up and running and my wife and everybody I think here. What part are you stuck at?

You have set up a Google/gmail account?

Did you go in your application email on the Meadow, and then from there to the Preferences section and accounts.

Scroll down to add an account

Enter your gmail address and password.

    And identify yourself.

If I remember well just do it once and it will add the account of the application calendar and the contact application. Don't recall so check again. If its does not for others added in preferences and accounts for each application.

Now make sure you change the default value of the Palm profile for the Google account when you add a contact. If you have not then it will add contacts to Palm profile and does not appear in Google. It is the same for the calendar.

Let me know how you got and if its does not work what is looming

  • EAS Activesync Palm Pre not syncing of calendar in Outlook items

I just read a few messages that sound like they have the same problem I have.  I had the Palm Pre since June 6 and had absolutely no problem with EAS - NONE!  Has worked flawlessly!  However, today, I noticed that a calendar entry that I did on my pre was not appearing on Outlook (and Exchange accessed from the web).  Well well, after several soft resets, the removal and the reinstallation of my Exchange account, a hard reset and try the tip to the topic to manually set the time zone, I had no chance.  All emails, contacts are fine sync, forth - quite instantly, I might add!  And, if I add/remove/change an Outlook entry, my Pre is updated Pronto!  The only items not syncing entered calendar made from the front.  I don't know why it has become an issue all of a sudden.  I really hope someone can help!  Palm: Please help!

    Thank you

    Joseph

I just put mine in New York City (EST) and now it's syncing. Its not synchronize all appointments I have recently installed on the pre, but brand new, I generate it don't.

would have been nice for palm help with this!

    Thank you Bustin

  • 'Unable to connect to the server' msg on Palm Pre to the IMAP e-mail server

I am trying to connect to a server of Courier IMAP on my Palm Pre. It happens to be a Lotus Domino 7 server, but I don't think that is relevant, unless someone can suggest a better Protocol IMAP (don't want to use POP, because I want access to records). I was able to use it very well on my Palm 750 (Win Mobile) and now for the test, on Outlook Express as a Windows client, so I know that the IMAP server does not work correctly.

On the Meadow, when I press the "Sign In" button at the bottom of the page of manual configuration of account, I always get the message:

    Error

Unable to connect to the server

I am able to sync the Pre with EAS system based on Zimbra to my business and my personal Google gmail account without any problem.

On the Meadow, in the manual configuration of the account, I entered

    E-mail type: IMAP

    nom_ordinateur.nom_domaine.com

    user name [no @domain.com]

    password

    Port: 143

    Encryption: no

[And yet once again, I know that the values that I have entered are correct, because I just enter values in Outlook Express and it worked fine.]

He actually let me same hit "Sign in" until I set up outgoing mail server also (which seems weird and as a minor bug - it should let me retrieve messages, even if I don't have an available SMTP server to send responses). So, I also implemented the mail out with authentication server. I don't know I have a valid for sending SMTP system, but let's assume that is not related to the error, as I just want to do my incoming mail and be able to deposit in the IMAP folders respective, at least for now. I'll worry send later.

Initially, I left the empty root folder option. I also tried to put a "/" (single, slash, ignore the quotation marks) in there. No effect.

(Question on semi - the Pre does support multiple connections EE without getting confused? In general (on Win Mobile anyway), you can only have 1 per device. If it was an option on the Meadow, perhaps I could empty Domino in favour of another Exchange Server, but this would be a term much more time here, I hope with my IMAP question).

    Thanks for any help,

    Colin

It seems that you need a smtp server configuration that is valid for the step of the link set.  In the test here, if the SMTP connection is refused/incorrect login it will not create the account (verified by looking at the packet stream, newspapers of IMAP connection fine, SMTP connection refused, account refused on the Meadow).

So now, it seems that you need a valid SMTP server in order to create an account.
