Palm Pre issues I'm having.

I used facebook to add friends to my contact list on my new Palm Pre today. My father didn't is not on Facebook so I had to break his info into my phone on my contact list... not much. When I added his home address, the pre for some reason any linked my facebook account to my contact information for dads. Putting my info in my dads contacts. There is no way to erase it. He said that when I try to delete contacts that I would have to delete all Facebook contacts. ID rather not start over... (frustrated) :/

This really needs to be fixed quickly! I read the other fourms, and many people have simular problems.

Palm please provide a way to delete a contact that is downloaded from Facebook, or Outlook. without having to delete all my contacts and start all over again. It's really * beep * boring!

If anyone has any advice please help

All you have to do is to separate the 2 profiles. Click the Contact in your contacts directory. And then on info here page click on name there at the top. Then it should show both the profiles, click on one and an option is to disassociate the profile, you can also remove the profile from here or do a primary profile. I had a couple do this to me as well, according to the names of people like my brother and the father having the same names. The fact to separate their fixed.

"Palm, please find a way to delete a contact that is uploaded on Facebook or Outlook." without having to delete all my contacts and start all over again. It's really * beep * boring! »

As far as I know Facebook is the only one you can't remove it from. You cannot delete the one your talking together is because its connected to facebook. In this menu, as I said above, you can then remove, or break the link to the facebook no one. I agree on wanting to not have all or nothing with facebook. There are a lot of people I just don't want or need it info in my contacts.

You can delete the others without having to start all over again.

  • Palm Pre Video Playback issue

I tried to convert the AVI to MP4 videos so that I could use on my palm. I used a converter called red Kava (I know it sounds like fruit). It has a converter that is just for the palm pre and returns to the correct resolution and the report l / h. When I play the files converted on my computer, they are correct and in the right proportions and all, but when I play on my palm they are streached from top to bottom. The button on the screen which is for full screen or something does nothing for the videos. Youtube videos work perfectly with the correct proportions.

P.S. It's a real pain that the pre does not work with 64-bit operating systems.

Nevermind that I fixed it using another converter.

  • Palm pre more (Verizon) does not connect to the Exchange Server

I've been on the phone for 3 days (bought the Verizon Pre the day it came out) and couldn't connect to my companys mail server. I had a Palm Treo 755 for years and have always got my email to that. After days of talk with representatives of the Palm, I am told that no. Verizon Pre is able to connect to a server to exchange corp at this time. I'm quite upset hereby, since after listening to a Council of representatives of Palm, I've had a computer scientist to ensure that our server was updated, we had the correct certificates, etc. This of course took hours to complete, and the person of COMPUTING time is not cheap. So afte spend all that time and money dealing with this, I learned today by a supervisor at Palm that ANYBODY on Verizons network is able to connect to their mail corp server and that it was an issue that is discussed in.

I searched the forums and found a lot of this Sprint service problems, but didn't find any with Verizon. Anyone else out there on Verizon and unable to connect? Or maybe the better question is, someone out there have a pre with Verizon and IS able to connect to their server Exchange (EAS)?

Correction to my last post. After doing a reset on my phone and update of our server, I was able to connect to my email. Thank you for your comments update to SP2. Overall, I am still very upset over the phone support provided Palm. As I mentioned before, I brought to the SP2 SP1 vs option several times by phone and I said whenever it was not the question. Even my computer, have fought a little, to get this update since that he had heard the same information I did representatives of the Palm on the phone. After you have created an account on here and PDAguy pointing me to the long thread about people having a similar problem, I showed it to our it guy and he has fortunately upgraded our server to SP2.

I'm happy to get this issue resolved, but feel still Palm mislead me along the way, probably cost me over $ 400 in IT supports, lost my time and traveling in a Verizon store to swap a perfectly good phone and I try the different options which should not be fooled. I did 3 different calls to Palm (with my COMPUTER technician who has been paid by the hour) and each call lasts about 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. Most of the current time on hold any 'research' rep my question.  Even had a representative on the phone to me lie and tell me that he was able to connect to our server (using my info) with a meadow he had with him. He told me so I had a defective phone, and I was directed to return to Verizon to switch the phone outside. After I had passed the phone out, and of course, it doesn't work, I was then told by another representative of Palm and his superior that it was a known issue and that person is with Verizon was able to connect to a server (with a pre) because of a software problem on the phone. I got a refund from Verizon to get this phone for $149, but with all my time lost, the cost of my computer and the lack of knowledge by representatives of Palm, I think I have probably the most expensive Palm Pre Plus there.

  • Palm: NO AAC / AAC + SUPPORT AS ANNOUNCED for PALM PRE

    Hello

I wanted to just note. I recently got the Palm Pre. I love on the phone. I think that it should always have a very small user base. Reasoning: I have a collection of unprotected AAC songs that won't work on this phone. I've seen very very little of what anyone on this issue. I think that if it was the Iphone, because of the enormous of users that could be sprawled on every Web site and there will be some indication of what is happening. I also tested unprotected AAC and it does not work. I think they advertise as having AAC / AAC + support. I'll post this on all websites support pre if nobody else is.

If there is a way around this, let me know.

In addition, what is the direct link to speak with Palm on these issues? They never get advice and talk to people?

We're still on the road to product open source?

It is displayed on other sites to support Palm, as a question and not spam.

    Thank you

    CA

    Hello

Here is my answer on the Precentral Forum:

    Hi Scott,.

I have been using the standard container which is aac (the same goes for aac and aac +). So, are the work of container mp4 and m4a for you with audio aac +? Well, that would be logical. People used AAC + on the PC before apple got a hold of it with the container of the AAFC. Now, maybe Apple pushes the container mp4 and m4a AAC + general public.

UPDATE: I have confirmed that used in AAC m4a container + works perfectly on the Palm PRE! EXCELLENT!

    Thanks Scotthellewell!

  • Palm Pre: Server generic Pop authentication errors

Ok.. I have more information on that. Tonight, I tried all settings using the WiFi. Since I have Cox as my ISP, I use smtp.central.cox.net as your outgoing mail server, no matter what the Server enter I use or address email that I want in the field "from". Cox blocked all outgoing traffic on port 25, unless it is intended for one of their SMTP servers. Well, to my amazement, as long as I put in the Server SMTP of Cox, it worked. Able to send and receive emails pop. So, which made me think. Maybe, just maybe, it's the same for the Sprint (but why would it? "Maybe the Pre is on a new attribution of IP of style and rules?)

So I tried. I logged in my sprint.com. Clicked on 'my tools online' and I went to "Create/change password" for "Email Server Password" under "productivity tools". To my surprise, it let me enter a password and actually saved it.

The strange thing is that he entered my e-mail address as "null". In other words, there is no e-mail address assigned. It is more than likely because "PCS mail" has been removed from characteristics of Sprints for a while now. But I thought since it was saved to a password, there probably used my NAI as the email address. So, I changed the server out to info:

    Outgoing server: smtp.sprintpcs.com
    Use authentication: Yes
Username: [email protected] (find it in your "device Info"-> 'more Info'-> 'NAI' (bottom))
Password: * (whatever you place for sub tools online @ sprint.com)
    Port: 25
    Encryption: no

And boom... worked. Sync'd fine... This raises a question, however: if I turn on the WiFi with smtp.sprintpcs.com listed as outgoing server, COX will block this message. It will allow traffic to send to smtp.sprintpcs.com on port 25. It should be set to go to smtp.central.cox.net. I think that the only real fix for that is to have Sprint (or is this Palm block in the software routing tables? You routers try 'iptables' if it is available. See if they are down on port 25 traffic if it is not intended to smtp.sprintpcs.com). unblock port 25 traffic.

More to come... I hope that I get more help on this issue, or have a few Palm expert chime in.

    Ok... I thought that more...

Since they block port 25, in some form or fasion, it is time to try port 465 (SSL). Welp, that works very well without having to use the shit SPRINT above. The problem with my ISP COX configuration was the SMTP Protocol. CENTRAL. COX.NET is the same as SMTP. EAST. COX.NET... which means the same IP, same machine. Well, that throws the SSL certificate. When the first tries to connect to SMTP. CENTRAL, he expects what he is the response from the server. NOPE... He would give his address as SMTP. EAST. So I changed my outgoing SMTP settings. EAST. COX.NET, use Auth: on, Cox username, password Cox, Port 465, SSL. Alto! Worked! It works through my WiFi as well since it is an outgoing Cox server.

With regard to my pop server personal, same thing. I had a problem with the SSL certificate is not properly. I fixed that and bingo, it worked as well on port 465. So, in conclusion, it seems that Palm has a kind of firewall software running (I guess Iptables) is a drop in traffic on port 25 which is not intended for smtp.sprintpcs.com. Why? Not a clue. Or, Sprint has assigned a new IP range/policy to the GER that prevents the traffic from port 25 is not intended for smtp.sprintpcs.com. Again, I think it's more the (Palm) Pre do not Sprint.

Now that I have this problem to the top. I'm out! Afterwards!

  • Palm Pre cannot do timed Pause or break closes in a dial string. (e.g. online access to the Conference; Access voicemail; NBR of 10 digits, pause, spindle)

I called Palm support who told me to use commas for 1 second pauses, even if this was not documented any where ever I could find. After thanking them and hanging up I tried. It does not work. Commas are deleted as soon as you click DONE to save the changes. I called Palm, with the same number of tickets, and they have reproduced the problem. 18 hours later (as promised), they called back to say there is no work around, but software engineering focuses on this offer in a future update.

Now, I can not access voicemail (1) Office, with House (2) answering machine, voice conference lines (4) (3) cable phone that requires entry of a PIN; (5) launching my own conference for others to compose in bridge.

Those are often used while I'm driving (auto speed) 1 access key to an integrated chain of 24 characters with 2 breaks is a huge requirement for safety and convenience.

This will be a major issue for the business users and the fix should be in the next push of software. This cannot be considered a new feature request, it's a bug. Even in charge think commas should work. This seems to be a mistake to design and test.

[Later note: Although there is an open ticket to Palm, I have also posted here in the hope others would chime if this feature is important to them.] Visibility + Votes = pressure + interest = fixed sooner?  ]

Features of technology of the Palm Pre are works perfectly for me. I don't know how something this basis exceeded the testers.

Have you tried 'P' for break?

    Just curious...

  • Using Palm Pre Plus on Verizon without data plan?

    Hello people,

I'm trying to find out if it is possible to use a Palm Pre Plus on Verizon without data plan.

Right now I have six years old phone clamshell and an iPod touch in my pocket, and I'm looking to consolidate. In addition, locked position of Apple don't gives me the warm shudder blur. WebOS from Palm running on the emulator gives me the warm fuzzies.

Research on the issue with Google, I saw other people ask the question at the time was the Sprint Pre only. Apparently the Sprint did not yet allow activation of the phone without a data plan. In addition, the question of whether the palm profile account can be installed over wifi there.

I also met photos showing that WebOS 1.2 would have a toggle to disable the use of the map data.

So people, you guys what do you think? Is it possible that this is possible? Thank you!

I suggest you look at www.precentral.net work is around like this. It is outside my area of support, but I'm sure you can find what you need there message board.

  • New Palm used Palm Pre profile

    Hello

I bought a used Palm Pre (Movistar, YOU) and now want to create a new Palm profile so I can use the phone in Australia (Optus, at THE).

How to set up a new Palm profile on this phone?

He is currently running WebOS 1.4

    Thank you

    Nick

Regarding the hacks and things of this nature, it is something that we cannot help here.

Since the unit locked up on screen language then we would need to restart the device. If this does not resolve the issue, then you will need to use webOS Doctor on the device. Reason for this step is there is no way at this stage of the journal of the unit to do a partial/full erase.

  • HP Touchpad, Palm PRE account and German credit card

I have problem with to enter my credit card information in the HP Touchpad. I had Palm Pre purchased in Germany and I inserted there the German credit card and scheduling of applications worked well. Today I got the new HP Touchpad also bought in Germany. I use the same account as the Palm Pre, but now I am not able to insert my credit card German it as the only available options of countries exist in the United States, Canada and Mexico. What should do?

For all those affected by this issue (App catalog seems does not not domestically, it must), please send me a private Message (PM) to your profile email address. I will present a ticket to have the fixed number for your account.

    Thank you.

  • Palm Pre for Sprint data back up problem

I have problems with data upward with my Palm Pre for Sprint - Palm webOS 1.4.1.1

I set it so "On" to make the data to automatically back up my Palm profile every day, however it has not saved it automatically since June 5.  I just noticed today (June 17) and I tried today to back up data manually by clicking on "Back Up Data Now" button, but the screen just hangs indefinitely with a note saying 'Préparation' never back up the data.

On a related note, between June 6 & June 10 I made a trip to Canada where my phone was roaming - then I can understand why he might not come back in these circumstances - but I went back to the United States on June 10 and he has not saved automatically since and it does not appear that he is able to save manually either.

Anyone had a similar issue or know what I could do to remedy this?

Of course, it seems that a simple reboot solved my problem.

Here is the link to the post, which has contributed to:

  • Palm Pre Contacts Export profile

HOW DO I? I've looked everywhere and have not yet find the solution for this. I'm trying to move my contacts from my palm pre profile in my gmail contacts. (too many to manually move them)

I tried setting gmail as the default profile and see if that would be synch and drop them, but this does not work.

I tried chapura, but it does not work. It does not move/synch "palm pre profile" contacts to the profile pocketmirror or echo. And companionlink software would not either according to their chart and the description of how it works (it syncs with gmail only profile is not pre).

Is it possible to export these contacts or change something they appear under contact profile?

I'm not familiar with what looks like the palm desktop csv file, but perhaps you could open the file and edit it so that there a file header "appropriate". More or less ike MS suggests to do here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810930. I don't know how many columns/fields has the csv file, but add the names of column/field that make sense. In regards to phone numbers, I would like to add the word "telephone" for the name of the field as follows, "Telephony", "Work phone", etc. You can also add some other names field if you know that all of your contacts have the same type of data in this document as "spouse", "children", or whatever. One thing I would do, is ensure that, after you change the file with excel, do you a "save under" Windows CSV and give the file a different name. (I found that other csv export applications were not formatting the file correctly and I couldn't she imported contacts google.) Then use the newly created csv file to import into google contacts.

What about my situation, I finally got my contacts exported from the Palm Pre having to access Linux OS on the phone, copy the file PalmDatabase from the phone at my desk, querying the file of database using SQLite and use it to export the contacts into a CSV file that I then manipulated and used for import into Google. It was not fun.

  • Palm Pre, Bluetooth and other phones

I will have no problem using a hands-free bluetooth, or my wi - fi.  However, I can't my Pre and my rants to talk to one another - to send the contacts from your old phone again pre.  I'm not familiar with Bluetooth profiles: PAN, PBAP, HFP/HSP, A2DP, AVRCP - I do not understand well what these all say.

Post relates to the Palm Pre P100EWW

To do this the Pre needs bluetooth OBEX profile. Who, at this time, he didn't. This does not mean that it will not be added however. This is not a hardware issue, but the software.

  • Palm needs to send a Palm Pre to Nissan for tests - as soon as possible!

I just talk with Patrick in support Bluetooth for Nissan Consumer Affairs at 1-800-647-726.  The Palm ONLY phone currently presented to the test is the Treo Pro!  Use this link to check: http://www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth/find.html . This Bluetooth group covers both Nissan & Infiniti cars.  Patrick explained the process as follows:

    1. Phone manufacturer sends the phone to Nissan for the test
    2. Nissan engineers is preparing a report for the manufacturer of phones, identify the changes required
    3. Phone manufacturer issues a patch for the phone.

Currently, the Palm Pre is not yet in step 1!  Palm needs to send a meadow to Nissan for the test. As soon as possible!!!

99% solved.  I still occasional static, but the connection is stable and strong.  Several other Nissan/system owners also posted positive results after the upgrade to version 1.2.  Good luck!

  • EAS Activesync Palm Pre not syncing of calendar in Outlook items

I just read a few messages that sound like they have the same problem I have.  I had the Palm Pre since June 6 and had absolutely no problem with EAS - NONE!  Has worked flawlessly!  However, today, I noticed that a calendar entry that I did on my pre was not appearing on Outlook (and Exchange accessed from the web).  Well well, after several soft resets, the removal and the reinstallation of my Exchange account, a hard reset and try the tip to the topic to manually set the time zone, I had no chance.  All emails, contacts are fine sync, forth - quite instantly, I might add!  And, if I add/remove/change an Outlook entry, my Pre is updated Pronto!  The only items not syncing entered calendar made from the front.  I don't know why it has become an issue all of a sudden.  I really hope someone can help!  Palm: Please help!

    Thank you

    Joseph

I just put mine in New York City (EST) and now it's syncing. Its not synchronize all appointments I have recently installed on the pre, but brand new, I generate it don't.

would have been nice for palm help with this!

    Thank you Bustin

  • Palm Pre is no longer syncing with Google Calendar

I had my pre for 4 to 5 weeks, and when I got it, I configured the calendar to sync with my Google Calendar.  Everything worked well.  At one point, he stopped synchronization.  If I add something to the calendar via Google, I do not see on my pre and if I add an event on the pre, he never appears on Google.  Of course, I tried the option sync nothing helps.  I don't know whether or not this happened around the V1.1.0 update.  Is anyone having problems syncing with Google Calendar?

    THX,

    Brett

    Hello Bartman,

You can try remove and add the gmail account to the pre.  If this does not work, try to create a test gmail account and add it to the front.  This will tell you if your email account or the Palm Pre.

    Let us know what happens...

    Thank you
