palmOne tungsten e2

How can I recover the files of addresses? They disappeared from my computer. Device is supported, but my concern is what is on my computer, not what is in the camera. When it is charged I'll do a hotsync - but why the files disappear?

Hello Pattykj, welcome to the HP support community!

We need to know what version of Palm Desktop you are using and what operating system.

Palm Desktop 6.22 has a known problem, deleting data if the computer is turned off while the program is still ongoing.

Is the data itself disappeared or the module address missing completely?

I have a Samsung laptop computer, Windows 8.1, i7 processor, I'm trying to sync my Palmone Tungsten E2.  I bought the necessary Kinvio bluetooth USB, download windows drivers, I loaded the disc that came with the Kinvio and loaded that.  Then downloaded the program 6.2 of website hppalmone.  Even though I have a login program 6.2 internet operational again that he cannot find an internet connection.  I tried to launch Mozilla and windows of Dansnternet browsers and it can not find the internet connection.  The computer continues to display a link very, how do I get the 6.2 to find the connection?

Hello!  OK - I'm no expert on the subject - so it's just a thought... mine is never able to find the internet connection either so my assumptions is that its an old link to a Palm site that no longer exists.  I just work around it.  You already have the latest Palm Desktop because you have it pulled from the HP/Palm website - so there is nothing to update.

Just an assumptions - I hope someone with a true knowledge answer you.  Deb

A Palm One Tungsten E2 has an internal memory in addition to the SD card in the device. I lost the battery and not recharges but the SD card is empty. I had a lot of addresses and phone numbers and wonder if they are still in the camera. If so can I buy a battery to replace the old and to recover the data?

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

The E2 a NVRAM it's internal memory, so all that is there are always power loss!  :-)

You will need a battery to recover the data.  May want to search Chris Short, aka PalmDr. on eBay for repairs.

  • (PalmOne) Tungsten E2 software installation

I need to load the driver for my Tungsten E2 on Windows Vista Home edition, I am wanting to use my PDA (no phone yet cause I have a contract with ATT which doesn't seem to have a phone yet?) but want to hot sync my PDA with Palm Desktop... How do I?  I have the software disk, but it does not load.  Windows telling me that it cannot find the driver.

    Hi Maurelle,

I suggest you to download the driver from the following link.

Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and HotSync Manager (Windows)
    http://KB.Palm.com/wps/portal/KB/na/Tungsten/E2/unlocked/solutions/article/37014_en.html

Given that Windows Vista is not listed as a supported windows version in the link above, I suggest install you the driver in compatibility mode or contact the manufacturer to get the drivers for Windows Vista.

Make older programs in this version of Windows

  • Contacts of PalmOne Tungsten recovery

Need help with my PalmOne, Tungston recovery. Got msg battery was low so charged for 2 hours, then got answer - just dead screen. Plugged all the next day & night contacts & loaded additional applications were missing. I need my contacts.   Can someone give me instructions of recovery, or I've lost it all?

Hi JudithW, welcome to the Palm support community.  'PalmOne Tungston' is not a valid name for a specific Palm device.  You list your main unit like a TX.  What is the device that you are referring to perhaps?

It seems that your device itself somehow cleared by doing a Hard Reset.  This isn't normal behavior for a TX, so I wonder if you have a different device...

Whatever it is, data is passed to the device.  Palm Inc. consists of the software and cables to exercise a function called "HotSync".  This backup of your data and third-party programs that are installed on a computer.  It is recommended that do you on a regular basis in all the literature supplied with the product.

If you have done regular HotSyncs, then just make another and information should go back to the device.  If not, then I'm sorry - your information is missing!

I have a new PC with Windows 10.

I need your help to find and install the appropriate software so that I can synchorinise with my PalmOne Tungsten E2 and to be able to access the info on my PC too.

I would also ask please indication of any installation/configuration that may be necessary.

Your only the most likely option is to download Palm Desktop 6.2.2 which is available for download in the first post of "stickied" on this forum.  I have not tried to install it on Windows 10. Check this thread.

  • Palm still has sell handheld computers?

What terrible store and search system.

Palm still sell the Tungsten TX handheld? or anyone else?  Or only phones?

I found the reference to a PalmOne Tungsten, but www.palmone.com takes me to palm.com - which has no info I can find.

    Appreciate any help.

    John

Yes, Palm handheld computers are always available directly on the Palm Store here.  The link is not accessible directly from the main Palm online store, for reasons relating to Palm by focusing on its current phones and the new model.  I do not understand why they don't seem to sell their remaining stock by putting a link on the Palm Store, but that's the answer I got, with the link above.

Palm is all about phones and accessories by the departure, and Palm doesn't produce any unit more pocket.  So, when they left, they went.  So far the Z22 is sold out in the Palm store, but TX and E2 are always available via the above link and other vendors like www.amazon.com above WyreNut, and Dell Small Business where the TX is also for sale at $260.  Or if you want to spend a little more for a reason, go to www.bestbuy.com where it is available for $314.

  • How to load Word documents (2007) for handheld

I have a Palmone Tungsten E2; How do you add Word documents on your handheld? Deskstop Palm is not allowing me to add them; so I can't synchronize with my handheld.

OK thanks, I thought about it I knew not that it was a separate application that is not automatically installed when I run the software. I have since found on the CD and installed. It's a shame, however, it is not compatible with Word 2007, I have to save it as the 2003 version put them on my palm.

  • PalmOs update

Hi all! I am from Russia

    I have a PalmOne Tungsten E2. PalmOs version 4.5.2

How to switch my PDA 5 or up to the maximum output possible?

Greetings iAhilesik and welcome to the Palm support community.

Your E2 has already installed PalmOS version 5.4 Garnet on it.  I'm afraid that you might be looking at the version of the Launcher, or 'Applications '.

To find your OS version, click on the Launcher screen Menu, then "information".  Now, press the 'version' at the bottom.  "Palm OS Garnet 5.4" should now be visible at the top of the page.

If Palm Desktop 6.2.2 is correctly installed, the installation tool is located in two places:

    1. click the HotSync Manager icon in the toolbar of your PC and choose "install".

    2. start the tool button / all programs/Palm/installation

I installed on my Tungsten E2 of RealPlayer.

I decided to change the songs on my SanDisk. I deleted all the songs and replace them with the new songs I wanted.

To my surprise, RealPlayer would not read the title song or the singer. He plays the songs well, but there are only gibberish where the title of the song and the singer should be.

    Any solution would be appreciated.

You know another program that would allow me to reduce the KB on mp3 as a batch?  The only other programs that I only allow one song at a time.

Sorry, no--I have never reduced my mp3.   :/

There are many good freeware sites to search.  Try download.com (CNET).

  • Tungsten T3 - need to DAT file access with address - please help

I have an old Palm Tungsten T3. The desktop computer with the address information synchronized died and the T3 has lost power (so no more addresses).

I have a. Backup DAT files with all my addresses. Can someone tell how can I have access to these.

Palm Desktop 4.1.4e reinstalling did not help because it does not allow me to import. DAT files.

Can I import this file into any other application or open in Excel etc.?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You must physically copy the .dat file in the directory of the user on the existing address.dat file.  Find the one with your short hotsync name (i.e. - C:/Program Files/Palm (or PalmOne) / name of your Hotsync/address) and copy the .dat file.

Make sure that you copy the file and keep another a safe in the case where something goes wrong.  The existing empty address.dat file will be only about 2 k in size.

    Good luck!

Or download 4.1.4E is what I have.  The goal to sync my Outlook 2003 E. This software doesn't seem to have the ability to sync with Outlook or I'm not in the right place.  Someone smarter than me help.  Thank you

Well, I really have to fess up huh?  Well, I was playing around with the sync icon in the status bar and what was on the desk.  After our conversation, I looked into all programs and found palmone > sync led pim > sync with outlook!  I ran that and all synchronized.  Sometimes it is useful to talk/prove to someone that it is really impossible and in the process you prove you wrong. Thanks for be my sounding board.  Have a good. Jim
