  Dear Forum,

  I'm 3 months in LabView. I created a front panel with what I consider a reasonable set of code below with a basic entry control power boulean a case controlled set of actions. I enclose a strongly striped version to the bottom of this structure with sections deleted button so that the executed code is removed to simplify just ask questions on this control structure. After the recent webinar, I understand this form of control to call a continuous structure of vote - and it makes perfect sense and seems natural for me to the point of programming of data flow.

  But according to the webinar it is preferable to use the structure of the event.

  However, the structure of the event seems really weird to me. My main question here is certainly the structure of the event MUST be voting each of the values itself anyway, otherwise how does he know that an event had occurred?

  So what is the difference between explicitly "polling" the buttons myself with a while loop and using a complex (for me) of the event with 'hidden' polling stations under?

  The vote of the 4 buttons in my example should be done at the same time if Labview is truly multithreaded/parallel? There should be no difference in the level of the computer between my code querying and the code 'hidden' the structure of the event making the mark.

  BONE is already this process in any case.  If you are in fact doubly effort without worrying.  And the OS is much more efficient that your code will be.  So just let the OS do work heavy while your code sleeps.

  And think about the trigger more as an alarm clock.  You are asleep (do nothing, with no CPU) when your alarm goes off.  You wake up and perform the task that the alarm tells you to do.  Once done, you are waiting for another alarm, so you get to sleep.

  IM under LABVIEW 13.0 PRO

  I don't know when this strarted bug happening, but now when I add a business to a structure of the event. Freezes in LabVIEW. I have to close labview with the Task Manager.

  It doesn't matter what code I'm working with, even a new VI, with nothing else than a structure of the event.

  I tried this on my desktop PC, my laptop and my CPU DAQ.

  The error occurs on my desktop and my laptop. But it does not occur on my CPU DAQ.

  Whenever I click on add event usually case, you get a popup to configure and add cases, but with the popup error never comes to the top and labview crashes.

  Theres no code to share the problem ocured when adding events to the event structure. It happened with any structure of the event, in any code, all the time.

  I spoke to an engineer of apllication of labview and suggested to delete the labview.ini file located in the installation of labview directory. I did this and the problem was solved.

  Still not sure what caused this to happen.

  In case the 'stop, change the value' I use in the main VI and a 'real' constant instead of Boolean control of wire structure. While the loops are not connected. The table that I use in my exisiting VI (another while loop) is indexed and unbundled to be used here.

  The work combined well screw and it gives me the results, my question is, in the long run it will give me issues. Do I still need to synchronize?

  There's no problem because loop additional lower with the structure of the event.

  Personally, I worry about the top loop. Why so complicated? Why so much duplicate code? Why all these hidden indicators serve as local variables?

  Why don't simply place you the table in the entire cluster in a shift register and the index and ungroup by name wharever value, that you need to access. No hidden local variables or indicators.

  My program has a tab control. In each tab, I have an event structure to control some events.

  I encountered some problems. These are:

  1. in each tab, I set tab as an event control, to altogether from the structure of the event as tab change (for example, the image below). My first problem is that when I change the tabs, in the arch depending on whether my program is entered in the next tab environment, happening at the event: change value to main tab!   2 - I've scheduled two final tabs as below in the image. I had no routine in these two tabs. Simply, I want when I change the tab, it goes to the next case of the tab control. But when I run the program, it goes to something as busy after one or two changes tab and did not work properly.

  I do an application which reproduces the front of the power supply HP6675A. To do this, I did a machine to States with different States

  (initialize, measures, voltage, current, ocp, ov, store, recall, etc.). In each State, should have a structure of the event that attracts the events of the buttons, as for example: If the current state is the voltage mode and the current button is pressed the next State will be the current mode. For this purpose in each State of the state machine should be the same structure of event with the same events.

  My problem is that the Vi does not work properly when I have several structures with the same case of event event. There are some possibly to do and how? Or is impossible to have several events? I read a few posts, but I can't find solutions.

  In general, you should have 1 structure of the event in your VI.  In your state machine, the structure of the event should be in "pending" status  So you will probably start in the State of the initialization and then spend idling.  Then, the user presses the present button.  If your state machine should then, go to the current state and then return to Idle.

  you only need a toolset for all 6 graphs? Make your own with a few buttons (custom) and you're fine...

  The structure of the event can manage several events at once to do the same thing: looks like an OR logical operator. But I have not found a way to sequence events to approach a logic and example: you must click on a button to draw, then enter the image would change the mouse cursor. With a structure of the event, I can handle these 2 events separately or together (i.e. change the cursor), but I can't do a sequence of events.

  I don't think this is possible directly. You will need to add status information to your event loop that could enforce the order of events and the rules of logic you want. Where transformation you would have to check whether the required event has occurred before this event. If that were the case, perform your treatment. If this isn't the case, ignore the event. Your first event would need set this status information. You can also include some kind of time-out for the second event were to occur within a specific period.

  This type of logic may be better treated with the help of producer/consumer architecture and a state machine in the task of the consumer.

  I just tested and the onTouch Manager works perfectly.

  I added the following code in the main container of the bubble component to change the color of the label (you will need to add the > string in the Label component to test).

  You can try to disable the GPU performance by clicking on the icon of the rocket in the bar of the App, or on the top of the menu bar, deselect the box Performance GPU; You may also uncheck performance GPU in your preferences.
