• InD4 - don't put text to the edge of the page - need to apply a header! Help!

  I'm putting a text box at the top of my document to use as a header - something I've done hundreds of times before.  But this time, when I add a text box and add text, is that he is an invisible object with a wrapping of text applied, and it won't let me put my text at the top of the page.

  FYI: text box options are defined to align the text at the top and ignore the skin on other objects.  I tried selecting all to see if there was something that I was missing and would not delete - no chance.  Even tried to shut down InDesign, reopening, and begin a new document - it does the same thing on the new document.

  It is a space of about an inch wide, that extends from one side of the page to the other - but just on top - I can place the text all the way at the edge of the page on the sides and bottom, no problem.  Help!

  

  My guess is that you have aligned to your text to the document network... and your grid starst slightly below the top of your page... If that s the case, you have two options to solve your problem:

  (1) set your grid´s starting point for preferences > grids

  (2) change your paragraph style to assign None to the text snap to grid, you find not to withdraw and Spacing tab (or alternatively you can change local control panel as well)

  The text alignment is managed by CSS now.

  Highlight the text you want to align

  Click the CSS button in the Properties window (Ctrl + F3 if it is not open)

  Choose one text on the right alignment options (left, Center, right, justify)

  These options are also available in the text-align property in CSS designer (SHIFT + F11 if it is not open)

  I am trying to add Typekit fonts on board animate, but I'm unable to get the police to apply to the text.

  I followed the video of the lesson.

  > in Animate, I clicked the sign more and pasted the source code of Typekit

  > pasted the name of the police (including the quotes): "myriad pro-semi-digests", sans serif

  I clicked on the text and selected the police in the drop down menu, but it is not applied to the text. The text remains just the same.

  I believe it has something to do with the connection to typekit, because if I remove the name of "sans serif" in the list of relief, the text flows one serif to a wheelbase. I guess the police changes, but it is not changing to the correct font.

  Anyone know of a solution?

  UPDATE: it seems to work now. I did add a different font to my kit, get a new source code, and it started working. Weird.

  You should be able to comma separate them, as:

  ifrance.com, 127.0.0.1

  As far as I know (and I don't work for the team of Typekit), the name does not matter; It's more a point of reference for yourself.

• 6500 HP Officejet wireless on the 2nd side [rear] of the document, the text to the top edge of the paper is partially cut.

  On two-sided printing, the text is correctly aligned each time on the 1 side of the paper. However, on the 2nd side of the paper [back], the text to the top edge of the paper is partially cut. Would appreciate help or suggestions you may have in this regard.

  I'm not well-versed in indesign, but what I've discovered, is that the box around the page number on the master was wrapping text, which was originally my text to break around her at the center bottom of the pages.  Problem solved, and amiellemiel is right.

  In short, I would say that you must loop frames within this loop of paragraphs and related texts.

• The anchor paragraph or referenced text is missing

  I have a cross reference of document multi book I was working yesterday. I finished, recorded and saved a document with more than 2000 references crossed 60 documents to others.

  Today, when the reopening of this file to work on it, once again, some of the cross references appear as a red flag, saying "the anchor paragraph or referenced text is missing.

  When I double click on this reference, it shows me the configuration as previously, I had chosen for him, unchanged, and simply clicking on OK, the red flag has disappeared. I have changed nothing.

  Is there a way to get around this bug? Why do I get error indicators? I've not edited documents or changed anything, and yet, I get errors. I tried to "update all cross-references", but the indicators are still there.

  I'm afraid that I don't have advice to solve the 'problem '. I would say that, actually, if you are able to correct things using the procedure you described your lucky enough and should count your blessings. He's not unusaul to see reports of having to completely rebuild the cross references.

  Hello, I'm using CS5, InDesign, on a Mac and I'm having a terrible time applying my paragraph styles in the imported Word document. The main problem is when I select text to apply my paragraph style to, the style is applied to all the text in the thread of the text in InDesign. The solution I understood is to go in Word, cut and paste each section on Word, a new Word document and be sure to 'Paste special' and select 'text style' in Word. Then, I am able to apply for the different sections of text paragraph styles when it is imported into InDesign. The only problem is that all hyperlinks are removed and I must now enter and put them all by hand. It is well over 100 hyperlinks in this ebook. I spent 4 hours trying to solve this problem. There seems not to be a conflict of style when I import the Word document and I am sure no paragraph or character styles are selected when I put them the text. I changed the options "next style" in paragraph stlyes and which seems not helped either. This would be a matter of Word?

  That sounds to me like you have separte paragraphs, but have line breaks forced in the place where the paragraph breaks must be. You can check that by showing the nonprinting characters.

  Sorry, that makes it clearer.

  1 itemByRange is useful only when you have the beginning and the end of the range in the form of numbers. What, where you plan to do? Ask in a dialog box from where to where to remove them? The lines "the user has selected" text are just a choice, and you can manipulate that immediately. There is no reason to convert it to a format usable for itemByRange first.

  2. at this stage in your stage of learning, should not focus on Getting the * thing at work, rather than focusing on writing elegant, easy to manage, short but not darkened code? All of you who have no meaning if your script does not run.

  Anyone know if it is possible to force a police to go on the edge of a block of text? Some fonts have a generous space above the height of the capitals of the letters inside a block of text. But I want the text block to the same size (height) as the police inside the frame.

  Discover your Options of text block - select the image and go to object > text frame Options

  Then go to the Basic tab

  Then check out the first baseline Option - and turn on the preview to view your changes.

  This will give you the possibility to have X pitch accent, height of the capitals, etc..

  If you want to get out to the right edge of an image on the left side then check out the window > Types and Tables > history and turn on an optical alignment, which will allow punctuation hang outside of the text frame, not only that, but "T" arms and letters as who will also extend beyond the edge of the image , with a negative value.
