Parental control of blackBerry Smartphones No. on BB Bold 9900

Hello. My step daughter bought a new BB Bold 9900 (2nd hand) by his father.  She came home and her mother and I want to set parental controls, but there aren't any.  As in, the app to make settings in the options - isn't there!  I can't find anything on the net and wonder if his father bought a dud!

Hey jobarkeruk,

Parental control is an additional free download.  You can install it here, or via BlackBerry World: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/122199/

  • Map of blackBerry Smartphones media encryption - device "BOLD" 9900

I am faced with a message "Media Card is secured by another device. Can't access encrypted files "."

What is strange, is that I have no multimedia card installed on the Bold 9900, only the built-in device storage. The message started to happen when I take a picture - I can't even save any picture on the device at all. But when I used the 9900 wasn't a problem. I don't have photos, music or other media stored on the unit in any case. I can only assume it came to the subject of the sync or back upward. But I have no recollection of which allows a guarantee nor any idea how to disable this 'security' at all.

    Any guidance appreciated!

Problem solved. Open Storage Options, device, clicked on the Total space key and blackberry for the drop-down list that allowed me to "Format" the storage of the unit.

Camera function now allows images to be saved again on the device.

    Thank you

  • Schedule of blackBerry Smartphones is exploded my Bold 9780

Hi, recently my calendar disappeared completely from my Bold 9780. I can't access it anywhere on my phone. At first, I thought it was just my icon that was deleted, but now I can't seem to find that anything that is related to my calendar at all on my phone. Use my upcoming events, that I posted in my calendar is displayed all the time in the same area as my messages, but now none are appearing. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thank you

    Brandon

Please check and see if the calendar application is always installed (it is a basic application and cannot be easily removed... but only in some cases):

    • KB10040 How to view or delete applications on a BlackBerry smartphone

Also remember that you control with a lot of attention to the calendar icon... Make sure that you look at each part of the home screen, as well as in each subfolder to the home screen... it is possible that you accidentally moved the icon. Also make sure you have "Show all" active you are looking for, make sure that the icon was accidentally hidden.

If not, have you installed anything since it last worked OK? A new theme perhaps? If Yes, try to remove that and see if your calendar resumes its normal operation.

In addition, is nothing happened between the time things were normal and this behavior started? A new application, updating, nothing else? Think carefully because the smallest thing could be causal... and maybe try to undo that.

In addition, I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see if you can access the calendar app. If so, then some 3rd party app interferes.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I think that my 9900 is bricked :(

Do you have an OS downgrade on my Bold 9900, everything went very well, phone started, mise put at day of some apps in appworld, made a batterypull and now my phone is dead. The LED lights up for a few seconds, goes off, and I have a dead, white screen. Tried a bunch of different methods, including "when your device does not start, it shows any of these symptoms:

    1 totally dead.

2 try to restart, LED activity only.

3 is not started, a white screen with an error message.

    2. your device is not able to start, something has gone wrong and the OS is corrupt.

3 geeks call this a "uncaught exception error". It's a polite way to say, the last thread has finished, OS interrupted because it is corrupt.

In many cases, the Application Loader can be used from Desktop Manager or Windows, see Ref #1 for the discussion of CrackBerry 101 .

The good news, from scratch, you will be returned to service in a few hours.

    2. you must install a BlackBerry OS file that is specific to your device. The original version, such as provided by the carrier, is the safe choice, but you can use a specific version of the model. It is not provided on the CD-ROM of BlackBerry, Ref: 3 links to BlackBerry download pages.

    3. once the operating system has been installed, you must prepare for the device.

Select Start / computer and select the c drive icon.

Open Program Files / Common Files / Research in Motion / AppLoader.

Navigate down and delete the Vendor.Xml file.

    4. you are now ready to restore your device. Check that BlackBerry Desktop Manager is NOT running. Connect the device directly to the USB port on the computer.

We are about to venture into the bowls of the beast. Windows is not suitable for this work, we'll call the interface to command line with a switch option. It was the way all the ' puters worked before Mcintosh and Windows.

Windows Vista: Start / control (type this into the "Start Search")

You will see a black window similar to this one. I used capital LETTERS to highlight the typed commands.

    Windows Vista

Well I did it, I did connect my phone in a wall charger, left for 5 minutes, a battery icon came in the middle of the screen, and then a few minutes later, the screen and illuminated keyboard. Gave me the 507 error, and I knew I was on the right track at that time here. Connected my phone to my computer and started the Loader and I go. Phone works 100% now.

I would say thank you here, but unfortunately nobody helped me

  • Problem blackBerry Smartphones have with my BB 9900

    Hello

If you can help me please I am owner of a blackberry since 2005, now I own bb bold 9900, and I have a problem.

When I try to do a picture with the flashlight the phone restarts, if I make the photo without the flashlight, its ok, but with the flashlight, it's a problem, can you help me solve the problem?

    Thanks, Guy

It looks like to of the LED high output intensity. It could very well be a battery problem, but if the problem persists with the connected device or with a different battery, it's most likely a bad flash led or an electrical problem on the motherboard.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones icons on the homescreen 9900 Bold

How do I move icons on the main screen on Bold 9900 device so when I turn on the camera icons appear. Currently, I have to press the arrow in the Middle at the bottom of the screen and drag upward to get the icons appear.

First of all, you can control how many lines appear on your home screen when you turn it on.  The number of default rows is one, but if you put your finger on the arrow and drag it to the top (like you did), however several lines that you drag to the top of will remain whenever you turn on your phone.

If you want to lower the maximum number of lines, say maybe two only are needed, get the screen filled with the arrow at the top.  Then, highlight an icon with your cursor, press the menu key and select move then move the icon near top, even above the row.  Once you have the icons you need laid out near the top, you can drag the arrow down to hide all rows that fall below your selected icons.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones go from 9700 to 9900

    Hello

Next week I'll receive my Bold 9900, and I will transfer my documents from my old Bold 9700 to 9900.

Question: Can I do it just with back-up?

Also, I will be giving my old 9700 "bold" to a friend, but I want to delete all my info, files, email accounts, and anything else. How can I do this?

    Thank you

Yes the new desktop software allows you to synchronize your old phone with your new device and copy items in all. It backs up yiour current device and then transfer the details on your new phone

There is also an option on your current blackberry to reset to the factory settings. He will wipe away all of your details, but be careful, once it is not the way back
