I did the same thing and had the same problem on my T500 (which includes a fingerprint reader...).

I fixed it to Client Security Solution (a ThinkVantage program); there I clicked on 'Footprint', then 'manage '. After authentication, I clicked on 'Settings' at the top of the window, then unchecked "Disable Fast User Switching Support. After a reboot, everything was back to normal.

  • Pile on the Welcome screen

    Nice day

My HP Probook 430 pile on the Welcome screen, I start HP PC hardware diagnosis for hard drive, I had this IDEA of failure

    Smart Check: spent

    Long DST: failure

    Failure ID: Q0BQ8C-000797-QFPJWK-61AA03

    Product ID: F3k78PA #UUF

can someone help me with this error?

    Hello

Error code 24 characters long drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP Business Support and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

  • Welcome screen and the fast user switching disabled

    I have a problem getting the Welcome screen and switching user accounts. I get a message that "a recently installed program has disabled the display of welcome and Fast User Switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the program. The following file name can help you identify the program that made the change;
C:\WINDOWS\system32\BCMlogon.dll. Please help with this error. Thank you

Also just a Word; recently changed the hard drive and reinstalled windows xp and many other programs. I have looked in windows and system32 and can find the file but am afraid to remove without causing programs that may stop working. Help, please.

BCMlogon.dll is part of the Broadcom Corporation wireless network connection.   Uninstall or disable wireless on your computer Setup utility should solve the problem.  You might be able to do this in Control Panel > Wireless Setup by unchecking Let this tool manage your wireless networks .

  • WITH video card driver, windows freezes after 10 seconds after the Welcome screen, WITHOUT a driver, it works fine

    Hi guys,.

I recently had the problem that when I start my computer, it freezes after 10 seconds when I saw the Welcome screen.
I'm in safe mode, it works perfectly fine. I have uninstall ALL my Nvidia drivers and then restart the computer in normal mode, and then everything works fine. I go to the Nvidia website again, download the latest drivers and the same freezing problem happens again. I also tried with older drivers provided by Nvidia, still the same problem.
Completely, I formatted my HDD and reinstalled Windows 7. I install drivers Nvidia and the same problem again.
    I have a Nvidia Geforce 250GTS
The processor is Intel Duo Core converted E6850 (boxed)
4 GB of Ram DDR2 Ram
East of card mother ASRock G31M-S

Everyone knows that the problem is?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English, I tried my best :)

    Hello.

The video card drivers enable the features of the card to use.  When in safe mode or with no driver installed only the basic functions of the card are used.  If the card is faulty, which is more likely, the defective part of the map has probably come into play with the full drivers installed.  This explains why it works with the Basic setting.

    See you soon.

  • Go to the Welcome screen

Since the other thread (How to disable the Welcome screen?) has been "answered" from a new:

After the launch of PS is blocked at the Welcome screen. I can't scroll down to tell him that I do not no show... Because IT is FROZEN. It is not contained in it and I can't leave PS if I don't get to the Task Manager.

the only way I can get it to work is to disable access to the network, launch PS, close the Welcome screen and then re - activate the network access.

I checked my firewall folder and host, tried several dns servers, rechecked iptables on my router, nothing works.

CC programs launch fine, including the Welcome screens - which I was able to extinguish.

the «Do not show...» "should not be part of the happy web, you see now, causes a problem when it does not load and no way to turn it off. do at least one option in the prefs b/c I can hit ctrl + k until the Welcome screen appears to change some things.

.. .and it works now. 2 hours lost because I had to wait for them to update their site Web welcome because they had let me know what features "awesome", they added in the last update.

  • There are all sorts of symbols in the upper part of the screen on different things. (Delete, answer, answer all etc)

Thunderbird didn't work at all the other day and I had to keep going in the Task Manager to shut it down, but then he began to work the next day and it works. However, there are all these symbols covering in the upper part of the screen.

It seems that you have a mixture of two different languages.

    Close Thunderbird.

    Back up your profile folder.

    Uninstall Thunderbird:
Via 'Control Panel' or 'Settings' > 'programs and features '.
Select Mozilla Thunderbird and click 'uninstall '.
uninstall all instances of Mozilla Thunderbird.

Download the language appropriate for your operating system from the link below and install it.

  • Updated to firefox9 and now when I use extension of tree style tab the screen goes black, with the exception of the "window of the tab" and the part of the screen behind him

Update firefox9. Using tree style tab extension. Everything works fine, except that my screen goes black when in 'tab window', with the exception of the window of the tab and the part of the screen behind him. Once out of the tab section everything comes back fine, but it is rather annoying. Checked homepage for the extension and have the updated version, firefox add-on page - it also says that it is compatible. Any ideas on that?

Am realizing pages will stay on as long as I don't move the mouse, but as soon as I do move it,black goes the screen.

Ok. A installed version 1.4? Manufacturers homepage. This is apparently what caused problems. Get rid of this and installed version 1.3? Since firefox add on the pages. Problems solved...

  • First of a sudded, my firefox browser is not allowing my to click links and open pages, or open anything on the upper part of the screen.

First of a sudded, my firefox browser is not allowing my to click links and open pages, or open anything on the upper part of the screen. For example, I go to my email and I can't click on the Inbox, send, create folders, mark as unread. It's like this on all websites? Its really annoying I can't do anything because most of the sites have login at the top of the screen and I can't connect to anything.

This problem may be caused by the Yahoo! toolbar as scopes as well down and covers the top of the browser window, allowing links in this part of the screen not clickable.

  • Satellite Pro U300 (PSU31E) - freezes on the Welcome screen

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U300 model no notebook 01900REN PSU31E purchased as new and connected to Windows XP.

It worked perfectly fine for about a year until very recently when it started freezing on blue welcome screen. I had to disconnect the battery because it has not proceeded past the blue welcome screen. I ran the antivirus avast but it nothing of the detected note. Now even when I disconnect and reconnect the battery the screen does not go beyond the Welcome screen blue even if the mouse is moved again, and occasionally the pointer arrow-pointer to sand-clock pointer initially and then rest as arrow-pointer changes. Pressing buttons, Ctrl + Alt + Delete, using the mouse or the battery are not any good.

I backed up things but not until recently. Please help me, I'm an amateur like these sorts of things, I'm English teacher from teaching professional so I really need materials and capabilities of the laptop. What should I do, please help!

    Thanking you in advance,

    Hey the view,.

Have you tried the same thing in safe mode? Go to the advanced boot menu by pressing F8, select Safe mode.
    Check it!

It of really difficult to say why this is happening but if it doesn t work I think that it s time to reinstall Windows. So take the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. If you follow the instructions on the screen you get factory in minutes! :)

  • Why can I not see my character... I don't see a very small part in the upper part of the screen

After, I selected and installed my character... I only see a tiny part of it in the upper part of the screen

Personas are for decoration of the Firefox toolbar area, not for the content area.

  • If I do not select F11 (fullscreen) a large part of the screen 'falls' to the right of my screen is not readable, I'm not able to find the necessary adjustments.

    Question
If I do not select F11 (fullscreen) a large part of the screen 'falls' to the right of my screen is not readable, I'm not able to find the necessary adjustments.

2/3 blanco on the left side of the screen

    With F11, all OK.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • The bookmarksdrop in the menu drop-down is too big, as it covers the greater part of my screen - how can I make it smaller.

Whenever I select the menu drop down Favorites, it is so big that it covers the major part of my screen. Then, when I go to a folder in the drop-down menu, if I stop to any other folder, it opens and is so great that the menu drop-down or completely covered. This is VERY irritating and I never had this problem before moving on to Firefox 5.0. How do I don't cure it?
    I use a MacBook with a 13 "screen

It is probably because you have one or more bookmarks with a long title.

The width of a column in the list of bookmarks is in the current versions of Firefox automatically adjusted the bookmark with the longest name.

You can check the names of the bookmarks and the longer more short.

  • I have to wait about 5 minutes between loading time and the Welcome screen

Need me quite a long time to wait I'm not why. It worked normally until I installed a new type of explore (7.0) from the Internet, after that I restarted my computer, I have to wait about 5 minutes to see the Welcome screen. Can someone help me, thanks

    Hello

It is not easy to say why this happen here. I recommend you to visit the FAQ section of the official website of Microsoft. Maybe you will find something interesting.

I heard that IE 7.0 has own firewall and it is possible that there are some conflicts with the firewall of Windows XP Home edition. Check it out and try to disable the firewall of Windows XP Home edition to see if the operating system boots faster.

    Good bye

Do not restore sauvegardΘ yet. See if it works when the factory reset. It could be that there is corruption of the backup that is causing the problem.
