Partition on HARD drive disappeared after formatting using the product recovery disc

My laptop came with a partitioned hard drive C and D drives.

After formatting my hard drive using the recovery disk of the supplied product with my computer, I don't have any option to partition the HARD drive, only for the 1. 46 GB for some recommended backup, and the remainder became the C drive.
D drive disappeared. Now, when I put the USB ant in my laptop, it reads as D drive.
Can you please help, I need to have my hard drive partitioned into C and D drives, and flash memory can be any subsequent letter.

Hello Richard

Is it so complicated to tell us which model of laptop you have exactly?
Anyway, when you use recovery Toshiba you cannot lose score. After using the recovery media, you'll have to factory settings and the structure of the HARD disk will be the same as on the first day.
Something like that is definitely not possible.

> I don't have no option to partition the HARD disk
This option doesn't exist. On some older models of laptops, just an option to set up the first score ability there.
After the first start, you can go to disk management and activate the second partition. All that s!

Please tell me what model of laptop have you then I can tell you more about the partitions.

    Hello

I could really do with some help here. I have a PC laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 - 1 4. Disk partitioned with Vista home premium service pack 4.0.

Last night, I used the product recovery disc supllied with the laptop in an attempt to restore its initial configuration.

and the end of the procedure, I find myself with a prompt cmd with X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the high bit blue box indicating:

Error: imageX could not apply vista F:\05993xsp.swm Index 2 of ODD to C:\!

Press a key to continue. Box disappears then an administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the top blue bit indicating:

    waiting for ODD vacancies...
    STRANGE drive f: loan.
Look for support in the F: drive...
Failed to initialize the raid class.
    No RAID - continue normally...

    X:\Windows\System32 >

Now every time the laptop trying to restart it just comes up with the error message:

CANNOT START WINDOWS. A RECENT HARDWARE CHANGE OR SOFTWARE MAY BE THE
    CAUSE
    FILE: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WINLOAD. EXE
    STATUS: 0XC000000E
INFO: THE SELECTED ENTRY COULD NOT BE LOADED BECAUSE THE APPLICATION
    IS MISSING OR DAMAGED

Below I have then have the possibility of esc or continue with the same result of the system attempts to restart.

The recovery disc has no option of repair on this subject.

need help please, I have no idea.

    Thank you

    Hello

Looks like something was wrong during the recovery procedure.
Have you tried to recover the laptop once more?
If this isn't the case, you should definitely try this!

You are right; hasn t drive recovery option for the repair because the recovery disk is not the same as a MS Vista drive. The recovery disk contains image files (it s a package) and the files contains Vista, Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.

So if something was happening well wrung out during the recovery procedure, you will not be able to repair the installation of the OS, but you need to run it again.

Perhaps, your recovery disk is corrupt. What happens if you try with Windows disk copy?

  • Can Pavilion dv9407nr HARD drive failure - I still get the HP recovery discs?

After reading many posts, it is clear that my HARD drive has failed and I need to replace.  I created my own recovery disks, but apparently it will not work on a replacement hard drive.  Right now, I would like to know if I can still order a set of HP recovery disks.  If I can't, between the cost of a new player software and the o/s I'm probably better to throw everything and buy something new.

I called 800-HPINVENT and was able to order the repair disks.

  • Satellite L450D - cannot use the product recovery disc

    Hello

I'm new to this forum and have spent 3 days reading this and other forums to try to solve my problem, I found a lot of answers, but none does not work for me so I'd see if I could get the thought some very great need help here.

Now, I have the problem that when I start the laptop the windows logo appears, then Microsoft corporation through the bottom and then the screen black with the cursor of Pentecost, I tried all possible starting in the bios settings and just goes back to this screen, I can t get no prompt or anything like that , I used knoppix and managed to transfer all the files I need from my external HARD drive, so thought I would not reset to factory settings with the recovery disk of the product supplied with the notebook, the disc never has been used or taken from the package until now is so in perfect condition of the art, so I put in the drive , start computer press f12 and make the primary boot CD, but all that happens is it says windows is loading files and get back to the dreaded black screen and a cursor.

    Can someone please help?

If you have the original Toshiba Recovery disk I assume you have older model laptop with Windows XP Home edition old. To be honest, it would be interesting to know is you.

In any case, out of curiosity but can only begin preinstalled OS in safe mode?
Enter the BIOS settings and set its default value initially. After ding this change BIOS boot order and place the CD/DVD as first boot device. Put recovery media in the optical disc drive, and boot up your laptop. While the laptop tries to start C press several times.

Usually, this should force your laptop to use ODD as the first boot device.
Long ago, I had similar problem and such combination helped to force the ODD to read the recovery disk and Windows XP Home edition recovery facility. Of course, I hope that everything is OK with your HARD drive.

    Please test and send feedback.

  • I need to format the hard drive but don't have the windows vista disc to reinstall, but have had the key code that vista was preinstalled do I have to buy a new drive for vista

I need to format the hard drive but don't have the windows vista disc to reinstall, but have had the key code that vista was preinstalled do I have to buy a new drive for vista

    Hello

    How to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Good... got to step 5, then got confused (never been here before). Are you telling me to delete point 4, 4 d 36965 - etc? Or lower and upper values in mentioned in step 5

Locate and then click the following registry subkey: this will expand the content of the key in the right pane of Regedit.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

In panel right, if you have UpperFilters, right-click UpperFiltersand then click Remove.

Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry.

In the right pane, if you LowerFilters, click LowerFilters, and then click Remove.

Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry.

Exit the registry editor and restart the computer.

  • Tecra S1: Step by step how to reformat HARD drive by using the product recovery CD

OK guys, I'm about to return my lease (Toshiba Tecra S1); because the video card is 'us' and I would like to reformat the drive and return the system to its original state by using the "product recovery cd-rom provided Toshiba."

My problem is that the video card is on the right track and using windows is a challenge quite like its like watching a patchwork blanket. So, when you try to use the recovery of product cd-rom, I can just not read the screen "its comparable to the matrix.

I really need a tutorial step by step with screenshots at each step 'a map of the fool '. Can anyone help.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Robsta

Believe you did not need the step by step tutorials or shoots screen. The recovery procedure is very simply.

Put the recovery CD in the CD/DVD drive
Turn on the laptop and keep C button for a few seconds
Follow the menu on the screen
Choose option 1 for installation in Standard mode and just follow what is happening on the screen

  • HARD drive disappears after accidental factory driver reset in a Dell Opti gx270s [:(]

This is how my sound card, a Creative Labs Audigy Platinum decided to go missing in action. So I removed and installed a back upward. It does not solve the problem but it worked fine in another PC. I took and came back to the system of its integrated Realtek or something. It was a little confusing.  Soon I realized that it had been turned off in the BIOS. Well well, I was getting a little nervous about the State of things then I went to install a RW/CD-ROM drive so that I can get some criticism upward current, as I had learned how to integrate the operating system with all service packs and drivers of motherboard and everything to make it a perfect installation disc I thought I'd do adisc this and do a full backup of all the files needed, but I couldn't get any of the three DVD CDRW drives to work. I got the drivers for each permanent and I knew at least one of them was basically new, and all of them were in good condition. I couldn't get one of them to be recognized by the. Well, I'm not stupid, but I was under a huge strain of workload. I went online to get the factory drivers default to the gx270s and downloaded, but luckily it moments later I had this revelation... "It must be in the BIOS" I thought to myself, and of course, when I went to check, this is exactly the case. I made the necessary changes and as soon as I restarted with changes saved to the new factory default drivers BIOS came into effect, and he would not see the HARD drive and when I loooked in the BIOS, there is no HARD drive side although I had two connected to the SFF gx270s I've had for a decade. Any advice would be appreciated :'(]

If there is a problem with the IDE drives detected in BIOS, the problem has nothing to do with drivers. Indeed, the device drivers for your hard disk and DVD player are generic Windows drivers, so that they are almost impossible to mess up. The SATA controller driver is not a driver generic, but which would not impact on your IDE hard drives.
