  This may depend on your condition. If the computer on which you want to install the new operating system is for typical home use, then you may want to buy Windows 7 rather than Windows Server 2008.

  I was installing on a Linux 32-bit operating system when I created the doc. You can start with 12.0.4 for Linux x 86-64, but keep in mind that you want more memory on the server to take advantage of the possibilities of 64-bit memory allocation.
