partitions?

Hi all

I was wondering if I can install windows (boot camp) on my current car?

I have an SSD where I run my adobe apps + OS, then I have a separate 2 TB which I use for data... I created 3 partitions for windows 7, 8 and 10 (for work)

but when I run the wizard boot camp she wants to merge all the partitions... Why is this? I have 3 partitions of boot camp on one disc?

What year/model is your Mac? There is no double standard drive MacBook Pro configurations? If you have replaced the Optibay with a HDD/SSD slot, BCA does not include this configuration based on the information provided by the model identifier.

  • Bootcamp Windows - partition cannot be mounted

    Hey all,.

I've been using Windows on my iMac (late 2012, Yosemite 10.10.5) without problem but today after I started MacOS Yosemite (to control simple file), cannot start again to return to Windows. Had no problem Bootcamp before... have not used to any advantage either 3rd disk utility. The only thing I have recently increased the Windows size 200 GB partition by decreasing the MacOS partition through disk utility (a month ago, no problem since then until today)

    1. Windows has disappeared from the startup disk

    2. disk utility shows disk0s4 gray and cannot be mounted. In addition, the correct partition size was 700 but here its listed as 500 GB GB (which was the old size before you increase it)

I'm not very familiar with techniques more. Only, I tried to install "Find" but cannot achieve anything with it.

I tried your advice above and seems THAT NTFS is there...

one last thing... when I try to check disk0s4, said "it should be repaired. When I hit repair; It says this:

Need my Windows as soon as POSSIBLE, what more should I do?

I don't have not upgraded to Sierra again. That I should? Or it will be even worse?

I decided one day that I tried to install Ubuntu on my Macbook.  At the point where I had an OSX and a partition, Bootcamp for Windows 10.  I followed the instructions to install rEFInd to install Ubuntu, but had trouble with her and decided to uninstall.  I made a mistake when uninstalling and may have accidentally deleted a small partition that I thought was part of the Ubuntu installation.

Now, when I try to boot into Windows, I get an error that tells me to use a recovery disk:

    Error recovery:

  • We can establish a common partition for Mac OS and Windows Boot Camp

I'm new to Mac, so please excuse my ignorance.

I have a MacBookPro 11 mid-2015 with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM.

I have Mac OS X El Capitan and that you have installed 10 Windows using the Boot Camp utility on a 150 GB partition. I wanted a common partition on exFAT which could serve as a repository for my data either of the OS. My intention - 150 GB for Mac OS - 200 GB of data - 150 GB for Windows 10. How can this be achieved?

Earlier, after the Boot Camp, I reduced the Mac OS to 350 GB partition to 150 GB and released 200 GB. Formatting this turned me expensive because it stopped my Windows to start. Repair it was a waste of time and effort. I draw the hard Windows on a Mac is sensitive to changes in the partition.

In addition, is using Virtual Box better than Boot Camp? I don't have as much virtualized environments.

    Please advice.

You can connect an external drive of ExFat formatted. The OSX and Windows can read/write on a disk formatted ExFat.

A virtual machine has its advantages, as does a Boot Camp facility. A virtual machine allows the simultaneous OS, any necessary initialization to change operating systems. Data can be shared between operating systems more easily. Computer such as memory resources are shared in a VM for applications environment to run slower.

Installation of Boot Camp allows Windows to run in native mode by using all of the system resources, so apps will go faster. But to change operating systems, a reboot is required. It is more difficult to share data.

  • partition boot camp disappeared after resizing Macintosh HD

    Hello

I have a macbook pro with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6.

I had a windows 8.1 installed on boot camp and ran out of space on windows, so I tried to extend the space by adding a new partition on mac and then merge on windows using the "minitool' but when I rebooted with now that the ALT key was not the boot camp partition...

I then started the mac and changed the boot disk in boot camp and restarted and it gave me a message "there is no disk bootable..." or something like that.

It's really important not to lose the windows and more important still do not have to format the new laptop please (because I had a similar problem before Re: Partitioning a Hard Drive Error on MacBook Pro)

I tried to check for similar discussions but seemed to I'll do it is harder to resolve because I do not understand most of what is said and was afraid to do worse.

    Hello MayMedhat,

I understand the partition Boot Camp have been adjusted and you are no longer able to access the windows on your MacBook Pro.  Because you cannot access side Windows of your Mac after setting, you must recreate your Boot Camp partition and reinstall Windows on your Mac.

Set up Windows on your Mac partition

Change the size of the partition

It is not possible to change the size of the partition after installing Windows, but you can delete the partition and create a new partition to the correct size. Do not try to resize your Windows partition or a third-party application.

How to install Windows using Boot Camp

Please let us know if you need any additional help and thank you for visiting the communities of Apple Support.

    See you soon.

  • Impossible to install 10 Windows on Bootcamp partition

    #1

Hello! I just tried to install Windows 10 on my Macbook with a 32 GB USB using Bootcamp. Everything was fine until I came to the part where I have to choose the partition where I want to install my Windows 10 and of course I chose the Bootcamp partition, but in fact I couldn't click on 'next' (I was so stupid and don't format it).
So I just format the Bootcamp partition and when I tried to click 'next' he just told me 'we could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. I went through google and searched all regarding this problem and there are a lot of guys having almost the same or exactly the same 'error' when trying to install 10 Windows on the Bootcamp partition, but nothing has really helped me. I deleted everything except my USB key and someone told me that I should only have 4 partitions or less.
He shows me the 4 partition but there are two partitions (3) and two partition (1).
    Is this a problem?
Here is a picture of my diskutil list: https://i.gyazo.com/f554fb8aac609c2420f55f9696fa06a6.pnggiven that English is not my native language, I'm sorry for my bad spelling.
I hope someone can help me install Windows 10 with Bootcamp! Thank you very much!

  • Best way to make my SSD works again with a single partition

There are 2.5 years, I replaced the original on my computer with a SSD hard drive. Months after I installed the beta version of Yosemite, the latest operating system for Mac at the time. To do this, the system created a partition on my drive, in which he has installed the beta version of Yosemite.

I have today on the same partition, I installed Yosemite, Sierra macOS running. In the other, I have all files, so I want to eliminate. However, when I try to do this by using the disk on my Mac utility, it is not possible; I get a message that says I can't delete the first volume of the disc. When I try to increase the size of the partition on which macOS Sierra operates, so reduced the size of the other, the system won't let me.

I would like to know what is the best way to make my SSD works with only one partition.

You cannot delete the last partition that was created, that not 1.

You can clone the content from the 2nd to the 1st, then you can remove the 2nd.

  • Mac partition

Hi, I intend to partition my hard drive. But my main concern is whether Partition Mac works also as Partition Windows?

In windows, we can create different drives and store our data. Based on our name for ex: C drive is like the master boot record. In the same way Mac Partition will be as she is or is there a difference between them.

    Hi MMullapudi,

If you want to understand how to partition the hard drive from your MacBook Pro, check out this resource:

For Mac disk utility: partition a disk by using disk utility

Unless you change it, the original internal hard drive is called MacIntosh HD.   You can name the other partitions, everything you want.  In the Finder application, you can drag and drop files between partitions as you do in Windows.

Let us know if you have any questions after reviewing this information on the creation of the partitions on your Mac.
