Password blackBerry 8520 smartphone device locked

Since yesterday, I am owner of curve 8520.

I defined the device password, I'd remove it. However, when I go through the menu option "Password" the password "Enabled" field is colored light gray and small lock is displayed. I can't edit this field, no matter what I try.

Suggestions how to remove?

Comments are welcome!

Look for the icon of the application that you can't find in the Applications folder, downloads, instant messages, one of the folders.

Battery pull reboot is the best way to restart.

Alternatively, you can press the ALT + SHIFT + DELETE key.

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Curve Smartphones - device password problem

I have a Blackberry Curve and for the life of me can't remember the password for the device.

I went under 'options', 'security options', then 'General Settings '.

It is set to 'active '.  When I try to set it to "disabled", her asking me my password and I can't remember it.

Only went to this section of the phone to see if I even had a password initially because when I try to connect to the Mediasync, he asked me for one.

Does anyone know how I can recover my password or where I could find it?  I have 10 tries and have already used up to 6.  The 5th try it asked me to type "blackberry".

    Thanks in advance.

    Chris

Make full backup with BlackBerry Desktop Software (BB Desktop Manager).

In case you used all attempts and the memory of the device are deleted to restore the saved data and you will get other attempts and so on.

Unfortunately there is no way to recover the forgotten password.

  • Bluetooth blackBerry 8520 Smartphone problems

Just got my phone today and it's very nice.

Unfortunately, I can't get all the files from my two existing phones to transfer via bluetooth. I just get a file error message of transfer on my old phones without further explanation. I paired the up has accepted the passwords, disabled the encryption but nothing, I even sent a picture of my blackberry to an existing phone that went well and I tried to send the file back, but it will just not work.

Someone at - he had an experience? I did a search on the forums and the net and came in white.

    See you soon

    Hello!

This is the KB with the instructions for the transfer of things via BT... It's more complicated that you have documented:

    • KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones

While the article is written for the transfer between two BB, simply replace the instructions appropriate for your non - BB device to place the steps in the KB of the transmitter unit. But you must perform the steps on the BB receiver before the opening to send it on the other device.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry 8520 smartphones resetting to the factory settings

Hi there at - there a way to reset a bb to factory settings without using the button of bb in advance thanks

Without using the Blackberry Menu button?

Set a password for security on the device, then enter the incorrect password on the device ten times.

I don't think the Menu key will be necessary for this.

Hello everyone I have a bb curve

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely. this work of a force...

    Thank you very much

Hello and welcome to the community!

Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the whole 4h15m process, your BB should stay connected to a good charger (not the USB PC):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charge battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem.

It may be that you need to use something different with the procedure that you follow... see these:

  • BlackBerry 8520 smartphones turned off and won't turn on! Help!

I may be wrong pressed a few buttons (sleep) and I woke up to see my vocation as a voice configuration 8520 and it was completed at 98% (so I thought it was better to leave full since he was almost finished). I woke up again a few hours later and she's not coming. I removed the battery several times, but only the red light comes on for a few seconds then it turns off and the screen remains blank... What I've done wrong and what I would do!

Leave the device in 2 or 3 hours of charging and then, still connected to the charger cable, remove the battery of the device a few seconds and plug it back. If it starts - let - the charges to 100% (check the Options > status for the percentage). If it is not restart on the first attempt, leave several hours. I had a charge for two days before, she came back to life after extreme exhaustion of the battery. Every 3-4 hours with the device plugged into the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it restarts.

If this does not work, if your BlackBerry remains powered turned off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.

  • BlackBerry 8520 Smartphone internet and email problems

Ive got the 8520 on O2 PAYG, with BB bolt.

Ive managed to get the phone works fine at home connected to my wifi at home, however once that my browser doesn't im away from home and I can download no matter what go to app world.

Also can't set up my personal mail of yahoo at home or abroad.

    any ideas?

You are away from your WiFi router now?

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way:

With the BlackBerry powereddevice, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this way is prescirbed for most the gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

    If still nothing,

On your BlackBerry device, go to:

    1. options > advanced > host Routing Table > Menu > register.

2 send your service from your carrier's BIS site books:
    Of your handheld: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402

Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and sign. Then under help!, select Service books and select send service books.

    Your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
Carriers worldwide - find your operator from the list

    3. with the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart. This restart, even if you have already done this, is often necessary to install the service books.

  • BlackBerry 8520 smartphones - can not read the texts

    Hello Sir/Madam

I can send and receive texts, but I can't read the text screen.  When I choose the shortcut sms icon it brings up one of the emails I have.  In fact, I have three shortcuts email to three e-mail addresses of differeent on the main screen, but they all open just an address which is the same thing when I open the screen of text messages.  This happened only yesterday, and it works fine for 6 months, I searched for other complaints of this in the help section, but nothing.  Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you

First, do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

  • BlackBerry 7290 Smartphone device software update

I bought a new 7290 on ebay, which was originally set to Vodaphone.  I use Rogers Wireless in Canada, on a pay-as-you-go basis.  The phone has version 4.0.2.35 of the software, on the 18.0.138 platform.  I want to upgrade the software to version 4.1, so I can use Bluetooth to connect to my computer.

I can download the software from the Blackberry/Rogers site, but if I charge it on the 7290 is I meet any Rogers / Vodaphone / version conflict problems platform?

There are two different versions of 4.1, the site of the lists for the 7290: 4.1.0.377 on the Platform 1.8.0.154 and 4.1.0.309 on the Platform 1.8.0.147

Visit this link: FAQ of Blackberry OS

Important: download and use only the OS device for your specific device model.

If you have downloaded the OS from another provider wireless - remove Vendor.xml just after the device operating system package is installed on your desktop computer.

After that, plug in your device to the computer and launch the Blackberry Desktop Manager/App Loader to update the software for the device.

Don't forget to back up your sensitive data on the device before the device OS update.

  • Question of blackBerry 8520 smartphone wifi

    Hi all

This is my first post here, and I want to know something I'm not aware of and that worries me.

With a BB 8520 curve, I can browse the Internet without a data plan and without charge?

If I do not disconnect the normal gsm / gprs network and I navigate using the Explorer will I be charged?

If I understand any application coming from RIM will need a data plan or otherwise I will be charged to use it (even if it works).

    Thank you in advance!

Yes, with Wifi in use and no. BlackBerry Data plan, you can download things and use the WiFi browser if you want, no problem.

But you don't use mail features electronic push RIM, like many other BlackBerry data services such as internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

So, if what you have is all you need... Enjoy!

  • Battery for blackBerry 8520 Smartphones

I appreciate its probably an old chestnut but. My wife BB has all of a sudden (in the last 3 days) began to discharge the battery at a ridiculous rate full flat within 3 hours without use. The only activity seems to be a small clock that appears in the center of the screen intermittently, which she said she had not noticed before. This lights up also when you write e-mails before the typewritten letter appearing on the screen, that it has the latest software and firmware.  Starters for ten?

    Not enough memory.

First thing? Check the file without Options > status, what is the number to the free file?

Now, leaving the device turned on, remove the battery from your device, hold a minute, to replace and restart.
What is now the free file?
