Password forgotten only for the administrator account

I forgot the password of my account administrator only on my Dell Inspiron 1501, which is running Vista Basic. How can I reset without disk rest? I also have a standard user account. Can I do a restore of the system from this account? Who will work to remove this password?

Hello

If you forget the administrator password, and you do not have a password reset disk or another administrator account, you will not be able to reset the password. If there is no other user account on the computer, you will not be able to connect to Windows and you will need to re - install Windows.

If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel. If you do not have another account like this set upwards or that you do not have the password which you will need to log on to the built-in Administrator account. In XP Home, start the computer in Mode safe. This, by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. This will put you in the right menu. Navigate using your arrow up; the mouse does not work here. Once in safe mode, you will see the normally hidden administrator account. The default password is white.

In XP Pro, you don't need to go to Safe Mode. In the home screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in "Administrator" and the password that you assigned when you set up Windows.

If you reset the password of the account administrator integrated into house or have Pro and don't remember the password, use NTpasswd to change the password of the built-in to a white administrator account. Download the bootable CD .iso image file, burn with third-party burning software such as free ImgBurn , Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Start with the media that you have created. You need to maybe change the boot order in the BIOS or obtain a menu of boot command temporary with the pressure of a special key. NTpasswd will run. Follow the instructions carefully.

Then, go to the user accounts applet in Control Panel and set passwords that you remember and other changes. WRITE THE PASSWORDS DOWN AND PUT THEM SOMEWHERE YOU WON'T LOSE THEM.

  • How I find myself with two passwords to iCloud for the same account?

How I find myself with two passwords to iCloud for the same account?

For security reasons, I only use iCloud for Contacts and "find my iPhone".

Several months ago Apple forced me to change my password to iCloud.  So I did this.   In the last months, I used successfully the new password to 10 or 12 times when asked without problem.

However, I received a notification of a software update for my Apple Watch. I did the update without problem. However, after completing the update my iPhone asked me to connect to my iCloud account. When I did this, she rejected my password. I made 4 attempts typing very slowly and with care for you sure I did it right.

Then, operating under a hunch, I decided to enter my old password to iCloud. It worked?  I'm confused about this, any ideas would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem last year. I had to call Apple. Contact is a bottom of this page.

  • Don't know the name or the password for the administrator account

'Useful' for my internet service technical advisor has created a new administrator account for my non-it network. I don't know the name of the administrator account or the password and am accessing the computer via a guest account. However, because the guest is not the administrator I can't upgrade or changes to the operating system. How can I find the information needed/creat a new administrator/do prompt the administrator? I use Vista Home Premium 32 bit OS. It seems that I can't do a clean install.

This new admin account that technology has created for you could be the built-in Administrator account.
It is, by default, has no password.

Try to connect to it by clicking on this account > Inbox password by pressing the Enter key.

If this does not work and you can ONLY log on to your computer to the guest account, so you don't have any hope of creating a new admin account, activate account built-in Administrator, or you can use the cmd to this effect.

Remind your internet service, tell them what the 'useful' technician had done before and ask them to help, such as...

    1. create new admin with a password that you can remember.

2 delete the one that you do not have the password.

If this cannot be done, the only suggestion that we offer is to re - install Vista.

  • Lost for the administrator account password.

I created two accounts in Windows Vista, an administrator account and the other a basic user account.  Unfortunately, it was a long time ago and I hadn't used the administrator access is some time and I forgot the password.  Now I can't access all the functions that require administrator rights.  Is there a way to 'reset' of the administrator account or create a new account administrator without initial password?

  • How to find the password for the administrator account (forgot it and don't know the trick)

I recently got a new labtop and there was already an admin account and a guest won't be able to access admin one I used the prompt, its my labtop but the person known not more because it is a gift, so is it every way possible to clear all the stuff off this or just be able to access the administrator account

The laptop has the option to restore to day? Some come with a disk partition to do that, while others came with BONES and CD drivers (or the ability to create).

If it came from someone else, it's always a good idea to wipe it and start over anyway; not sure what this person was in, or what are the sites he visits. Would not be a good day for you if the black helicopters landed in your front yard to cause something that accesses the internet of this laptop without realizing you it :-(

  • I forgot my password for the administrator account in Windows 7

I need to find my passwod administator can someone help me please

    * original title - I forgot my administrator password and I get nowhere *.

Comment of "No Mo" is grammatically correct, it won't you anywhere with your current problem or the other. Maybe one of these options will solve your problem:

    • Restart the computer with your CD to repair Windows, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if the problem occurred recently).
    • Logging in as a different admin account and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if create you an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you have activated the account administrator and know its password).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have created such a keyfile).

If none of these standard precautions work for you, then the remedy will be painful. Post again if this is the case.

I just changed my password of the Admin account as my fraping friends keep me, I chose a very long password, but he forgot the moment I got to the school house.  I now have only the available Guest account.  What should I do? Help, please.

    Here you go:

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before you changed the password.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

my computer will be noy take my password. IM the only one without her addministrator I can't make changes or even get in my control panel. my index is always the same that a TI does not work. Can howw I fix?

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created an index and it is up-to-date)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)

  • option to Editor local group policy for the administrator account on Windows 7

I have an administrator account I want to restrict in some respects. I know that this can be done via local group policy. So, I need:

    1. Installation of new programs require an admin password.

    2. Some programs (that I choose) run without admin password.

    3. Held together under one account, without comments, accounts of users or lower privileges.

No idea how to do it?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you had to restrict access to some programs using the local Group Policy Editor. The Local Group Policy Editor is a snap Microsoft Management Console (MMC) that provides a single user interface through which all the settings of local Group Policy objects can be managed.

I suggest you to return the article mentioned below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.
