  • Issue of ThinkPad tablet 2 Factory Reset reinstall Windows

Please help me. I have problems to reinstalling windows on my thinkpad Tablet 2. I have a long enough thread explaining my problem here, http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/lenovo-ibm/62633-thinkpad-tablet-2-factory-reset-reinstall-windows.h... if someone could help me I would be very grateful. I'll copy and paste the thread here, if I have to, but it's just easier to copy the link.

    Fastest salvation,

I had similar problems to you with a number of our TPT2s. They are really picky when it comes to boot from an external support. Here's how I got mine to (possibly) regularly start on external media. However, one thing to note is that, in order to recover Windows 8 on it, you're either going to need disk recovery Lenovo or an installation of Windows 8 of your own disc. I have no idea if the drivers listed on the Lenovo site will work with anything as old as XP, although I remember some Windows 7 see so if you have a Win7 disc you might try that.

    1. disable the Secure Boot UEFI in the BIOS. [BIOS |] SECURITY | SECURE BOOT | [* Change the secure startup flag ' disabled]

2 get some kind of separator/hub USB so that you can plug your external DVD drive with a keyboard (Microsoft still require you to "push any key to boot from CD" and touch the screen does not count).

    3. with the drive and the keyboard is connected, set the boot order in the BIOS so that the CD/DVD drive is the first boot option. I also push the Windows boot manager at the bottom of the list if it is there. Do, but I'm a superstitious Guy and save the changes.

    4. as long as the DVD drive has adequate power (need an external power supply. He cannot draw enough power from the USB port of the tablet to run) and you have a Windows disc 8/7 in the drive, you should now receive the message "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM. Press a button and it should... Finally... it takes much longer than any normal device... starting in the installation menu.

Each step of this lasts longer than you expect. For example, it takes an age for the message "Press any key" is displayed. It just sits there with a black screen and the DVD blowing away.

That's how I got mine to work in any case, best of second chance.

  • Good method to reset the tcp connection after timeout error

I have an application that I build that communicates with a Modbus TCP device.  If a communication occurs error I wish I could reset it TCP communication.  What I have is a control that raises an event when pushed.  In this case, I have a sequence that closes first the tcp connection and then opens a new connection.  My application starts and works very well.  To test the reset function, I removed the ethernet cable from the camera and waited until a timeout occurs.  I plugged the cable reset back to and pushed my control. Sometimes the reset will take place, but most of the time I'll get a timeout in the TCP vi open error.  After that, the only way I can establish communications must leave my application, disable and then enable the network device.  Then, when I restart my application I have communication with my camera.

Any help would be appreciated on how I should be reset my TCP connection.

    Thank you

    Terry

Terry S of a. in writing:

I've attached an example vi (LV10) that shows just the connection TCP and Reset.  An error occurs when you try to run the open in the event of reset tcp protocol.

As writing that your code should be fine. There is nothing inherently wrong with it. However, depending on the device, you communicate with you can try to restore the connection too quickly once you have closed the connection. The device allows multiple connections to it and may require some time to clean up the things on his end after you close a connection. An experimental basis try wait little time between TCP and the TCP Open shut it down. If possible you can try using Wireshark to see what is happening on the network. It may be useful to diagnose what is happening.

    attaches to the iPhone

Whenever I use my iPhone attaches to internet connection, in the window 'Connections available to the general public', my iPhone is presented as "iPhone 1" the next time that I used it, «iPhone 2 "then 3 then 4 etc.»»  Currently up to 9. How can I stop this from happening? Or is it still important?

    Hello StevenHuurman

    Try this.

    1. turn on WiFi tethering via the iPhone.

2 connect the system to the iPhone tethered via the wireless connection.

    3. without closing the iPhone tethering, disconnect the straps of the iPhone system.

    4. now reconnect the system to the loin and Note If the wireless connect denominator increases.

For the above steps, if you have access to other computers, then try the same steps and allow to know the results of these institutions.

If the denominator goes up so we know it is a problem with the system and if not then whenever you turn off modem, then again on the iPhone are considered as a new network connection and something has changed in the phone.

Another thing, you have selected the option for the system to connect automatically when this network is in range?

Unfortunately I do not know what version of the OS you have here are the steps for Windows Vista and Windows 7. During the installation process for Windows Vista and Windows 7, you will see the option "connect automatically when this network is in range. Make sure that you click this box when you configure the connection to the loin.

Let me know the results. Thank you.

  • How to reset the windows media player 12 default settings

Original title: how to reset the windows media player 12 default settings

My Windows media Player 12 has stopped play all the sounds (Win 7 HP 64 bit) - I can play sounds with Windows media Center, DIVX, etc. of Winamp, but not with Win Media Player. I would like to reset Windows Media Player 12 to its default state, either by doing a reset or reinstall. Can someone tell me how to do what you please?

Do these two steps [they are the closest thing possible to uninstall then reinstall WMP & will actually provide a new installation of WMP]

1 unload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn on or off has Windows, multimedia features, clear box Windows Media Player, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

2 reload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn Windows features on or off, multimedia features, set the Windows Media Player box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

  • Some applications are empty after I reset my windows to default

    Original title-

    Help!

I have reset my default windows, now some of my applications are empty, any ideas?

Thanks Srimadhma B for helping me with my problem app, in answer to your question, I have reset my windows 8, the answer is Yes.  In doing so, my applications were pending for quite some time.  I have updated their but always had trouble with some of them.  I did download your suggestion and then solve the problems and fixed some issues, thanks.  Also, when they say uninstall it means delete (then I found), I just bought their return (a mainly, (new Bing), I figured out how install my apps now by clicking at the top instead of bottom.)  This could help someone who had the same problem!  in any case, everything is good Srimadhma, made careful and thanks again.

  • waitForUpdates method does not detect updates after reset of the connection

    Hello

In my case, I use waitForUpdates() method to detect the VMotions (. i.e. whenever a VMotion arrived I have trying the GET the update using this method). It works perfectly in case of normal use.

But all of a sudden after a reset of VC connection. This waitForUpdates() method makes me not updated.

When the session id gets modified waitForUpdates (propertyCollector, version) would also have a new propertyCollector object (to give you the new collector of property obtained with the new connection object), so even now why it does not return me the updates after the reset of the connection.

Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong in the treatment of this.

Please let me know how to handle the connection reset and collect updates later.  Which can affect the waitForupdates in updates outside the collector property object to return.

I even tried with the checkForUpdates method was the same behavior.

    Thanks in advance.

Please check if you create the PropertyFilter after reset connection. Good initialization of the filter property should solve your problem.

    Thank you

  • Need to reset the Windows Live ID password, but none of the standard options will work, can explain

Xbox installation for my 6 year old at Christmas and created a windows Live ID to install Xbox live trial. All is well, but now subscribe said direct gold and buy points. To do this, I need to connect to my windows live Id and payment method. When I enter the password that it fails so thought that I could do it reset in case I had not remembered properly. Then I noticed that I had lot to put up with the suffix @gmail.co.uk rather than @gmail.com, which means the registration and activation email went into the ether (gmail.co.uk addresses do not exist) so the account has not yet been activated... It's so likely I do not know the password but can not access as not active! MS reset options are e-mail, SMS and the client request. Email serves will send to not existing address. SMS does not work as well as I put my cell phone in I of course did not change the location then nothing happens so think he uses a prefix US on a uk mobile... Could be no activation you again if suddenly. When I fill out customer service reset I impersonate the identity test but got an email telling me reset, use electronic mail, which totally missing the point. I guess it was an automatic response and you can't answer. I also tried to obtain a unique access code, but who still uses SMS that doesn't work for me. Hints tips or suggestions welcome - btw talked to technical support of Xbox that were very sensitive, but could not help

  • Reset password windows 7, is safe?

I installed windows 7 last Friday and then, of course, I forgot the password.

I used this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PILDBTObzLw to reset the password and now it works fine and I can connect.

I just want to know if I will have problems in the future with updates after I changed the name of some files. Can I find the files I edited and delete/rename them back to the original?

    Thank you!

    Hello Mello,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

I also appreciate your query on the updates of Windows and password reset.

Reset password is safe. However, we rename files "c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" and "catroot2" while that to solve the problem of update.

If you have remaned the files of data, then you do not have to delete or rename. If you have made changes to

Files Windows and then, although you can rename them, it can make no difference, or it can aggravate the problem.

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thank you

  • Reset my windows 7 to factory settings

I have a problem. My mother gave me a Windows 7 to use but I want to reset to factory settings, but I can't because she had a connection with a password, but since she she going on outside and I have no idea what it is. Is it possible that I can bypass the option password to reset to factory settings as I just want to clean and like new set.

    Thanks Len

You don't need any password. All you need is to press certain keys at boot time. Consult the manufacturer's web page for instructions on how to begin the process of restoration of the factory.

  • Windows connection problems and "Windows could not log in the Windows Event Service.

September 14, 2014, I installed the hotfix for Windows (KB2590550).

When I try to log on to a standard user account (not Admin), I would get an error that might say something like "Windows could not connect to the Windows Service Service event".  I click OK and then get a totally blank screen showing on the arrow of the mouse (which can be moved).

Around this same time, when I was able to connect, I got a "not genuine Windows" pop up.  My windows 7 came factory-installed by Dell (Dec. 2011) and I got no re-imaging, re - install or repair since I got the computer.  I've also been running Symantec Endpoint Protection (version DoD) for 2011 as well.

When I login as administrator (different account), I get an error "Failed to connect to the Windows Event Service" or something like it in a control bar bubble popup.

I studied the Knowledge Base, and he said to apply the patch to KB2590550.

Since then, the question is still common and works (sometimes) when I reset the password for the standard user.  In addition, all updates of the operating system, patches, etc. have failed since then.

Now, I get occasional blue screens immediately as windows starts to load (just after the initial windows graphics) which triggers a reboot.

    Service Pack 1 is installed.

    Help, please!

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the issue.

If the problem still persists I suggest to run the SFC scan to check the integrity of the system and see what it finds.

The sfc/scannow (System File Checker) command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

We can check & repair missing and corrupt files by the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
    2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
    3. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow
