Pavilion 14 v042tx: battery life is bad

Dear all users of the forum.

I improve my windows 64-bit for Windows 10 64 bit Windows 8.1, but there is problem with my battery life for laptop, point 8.1 of Windows my laptop battery life is about 4 to 5 hours in standard use, but in Windows 10 to 3 hours. I have already installed all the software driver from HP. Thanks for your reply.

The problem is solved, I just turn on the battery saver option, now my laptop battery life is more than 5 hours approximately. Thank you all.

  • HP Pavilion g6 - 1191ev: battery life

Hello everyone and thanks for your support in advance.

    I am owner of a g6 Pavilion - 1191ev.

My battery, which was included in the purchase of the laptop, for 4 years, is out of the life.

I want to by a new and I would like to know your opinion on where I should look for another (e.g. on the internet or on the official website of hp?), and what should be the characteristics that I should be careful, when purchasing the new battery.

Thanks a lot for your help.

HP has probably more battery in stock. Where do you live? (Single country)?

This is the official number of the HP Part for the battery:

    6 - cell Li - lon, 2.55 Ah, 55 Wh 593554-001

It is a MU06 battery, which is probably the most common laptop battery there are:

It is a 6 cells and your laptop might take rather a 9elements (MU09) that would go longer but the bumps on a bit:

You want to be sure to get a real HP battery. Many of the batteries sold there are 'compatible' (I call them 'knock-off') batteries and they can be very good, but they have a superior instance to be bad out of the box. They are much less expensive, however, and in the right setting on a laptop used where count pennies, I'll use them.

  • i290 battery life is bad, truly the worst phone EVER!

I've had this phone for 4 days and I hate to death. It shows only the last 20 calls (I do about 50 per day) and I have to charge it every night. I've had phones for $24.99 which hold the load better than this piece of junk.

in any case, can anyone recommend a better phone? Is there a list of phones compatible boostmobile somewhere?

    -Edited thread title, added tags.

If you make 50 calls per day and each is about 5 minutes, then you have reached the nominal life of the battery of the phone:

    http://www.Motorola.com/consumers/us-en/consumer-product-and-services/mobile-phones/CI.i290-us-en.Al...

There are other variables - the signal strength, other use, etc.. Since you have only had the phone for a few days, you should see all swap for something you like better.

  • Mid-2015 MacBook Pro 15 has Horrible battery life

I have a Macbook Pro 15 mid-2015 is the basic model, 2.2 Ghz and 256 with no graphics other than the Pro of the Iris.  I got it for about 3 months and I take off the power once a weekish and use it around the House.  Whole reason I decided to go Apple was because I wanted to the battery life that windows machines cannot offer with that kind of power.

I must have got a spleen or something because my battery life is bad.  I lance 50% screen and backlight OFF and do nothing to keep open.  My Dock has nothing open except for the mail to notify me and my browser if I use it (98% of the time).  The battery life is maximum of 4-5 hours to do this constantly, the only time where I got was more a road trip where I turned the backlight and display off and using only iTunes to listen to music through my headphones via bluetooth, it provided for 20 + hours this day here.  Just get here for the last minutes went from 38 to 19 percent more than 31 minutes of battery time.  I know a decent amount about computers and I am a saver of energy mass unless I'm hip, low light, no backlight, no program didn't open that I do not use etc and yet I get a ridiculous autonomy.

What should I do? Any suggestions? I read somewhere on the power off and then when you power back up hold down Option + command + R to put something else inside the machine.

My battery life is normal for what I described?  It of not like I'm that fool who knows nothing about computers and leaves open pages, mail, messages, itunes, Skype and browser just because I can.  I leave nothing open (so no programs on the platform were the 'point' under them), erasing everything that isn't necessary VIA activity monitor, such things as creative cloud.  I'm just puzzled.  I must have got a dud.  Please help and advise me on what I should / test.

Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3, but it's not just because of El Capitan, this has been like that since Yosemite when I bought first.

    Thank you

Your computer is still under warranty, so do the logical thing: make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store and bring it into service. If you are in the United States or is unable to make an appointment in this way, contact your Apple store. Don't forget that you have free phone service for 90 days after purchase.

I do not use much for this to be dying so quickly. Someone has the same problem or have any recommendations on what I could do to solve the problem. I love the phone and more, I need power! • The battery life on a stack of old vs new

Hi I just bought the HP Pavilion g4 (1100au) and run the battery check utility.

I noticed that the battery is already 6 months old. How is this affecting the life and capacity of the battery? And the warranty will cover the fact that the battery is already "old" purchase? (For example if it is less than expected performance for a 1 years exactly one year after the purchase, the warranty replaces the battery?)

Although there is no mention on the website of HP, some online stores, sales of HP Pavilion claim a battery life of just over 4 hours (not using the dvd player or playing graphic intensive games). Is this correct? What should I expect in a year, 2 years and 3 years?

    Thank you very much

Any site on the battery life and usage will tell you that it depends on the number of charge cycles and the level of support that keep you the battery in.

If you keep a battery to 100% it will dramatically decrease the life.  That's why a new battery will be delivered with a load of say 50% or 40%.

Get 1000 cycles or even 500 cycles a Li-ion battery is overly optimistic at best.  Old batteries would degrade over time so that the AMM would go to 0. They would be too hot for the charge cycles and have minor shorts that would be ignored by the jury of the battery.  A short circuit in a battery is a major problem.

Today, the batteries are chips in them, a diode to control temp, a lot of security.  If the smart chip detects the slightest defect in a battery, it will just stop it.  That's why you see seemingly good batteries just suddenly stop working.  Once the Mah side gets down to 50%, a battery could just stop at any time.

Spare batteries are not these safety devices integrated into them.  Most of them don't even have a diode temp. They show only a static temp all the time.  Then, they could short-circuit and ignite a fire, they could overheat and get out your laptop system load or worse.  I've seen worse, it isn't pretty.

I do not do anything to increase the life expectancy of my batteries, I just keep 100% of the fees and use them.  I'm lucky if I get two years for use on a battery.  I usually get a year and a half out of them. After that about 100 charge cycles, they start to degrade the mAh rating.  If they go to 50% without stopping, I just replace them.

Batteries are not yet considered to be a component, they are considered a disposable commodity.

  • swr30 bad battery life?

Hi guys and gals, Ive had my swr30 for a few days now and I find that I get battery life far less than satisfactory.

don't get me wrong, I didn't expect ever 3 days announced, but I expected to turn it into day 2!

the first day or so was obviously 'new toy' time so I was completely expecting if flow more quickly than normal but I did 2 loads per day for the amount of play seemed a bit ridiculous.

the last 2 days, it was as I use it normally (barely at all) and yet it is necessary to load at the end of each day. I wonder if I have an application that is chewing power? or if something is actually wrong?

Here is today the race to the bottom of its use:

charged to 100% at 10:30 last night

as soon as she would have been charged I Wen to bed, then nothing has been touched on the watch.

0600 my alarm to wake me up and alarm to the notifaction was sent to my watch just a second or two, until I hit the kill button, by getting down the watch had already fallen to 70%!

07:30 that I got work, during the day I had 4 whatsapp notifacations + 3 battery level controls (manual NOT the voice command)

1700, I'm at home and the batery is now down to 48%

2030 the Watch has not been used at all otherwise as a watch and is now 37%

Personally I would not class as in the slightest as intensive use! Surely, this is not normal?

10 hours later and he sits at 80%, I would say that a victory! Laughing out loud

very happy, it seems that the calendar application has been the main cause of exhausting the battery and the face of the fierce weather.

  • X201T standby / hibernation / bad battery life

    Hi guys,.

I bought a X201T tablet a little over a year previously, but since a BIOS update (has happened quite earlier), I was not able to Hibernate or put my tablet to sleep more.

When I close the lid, the laptop screen goes black, but he keeps running, so once I open it, it immediately turns back. If I try to manually put it in sleep (Start, sleep/hibernate), these options are grayed out and I can't select them...

Also, since then my battery life has been terrible (approx. 2 hours on high performance, maximum 3-4hours on low performance) Although the battery is in good condition... In addition, the option for Intel turbo boost appears no more when selection the high performance

I did have a problem with it keeps not given that startup is fast enough with SSD and everything, but it is not always very practical and would like to find a solution. The shortcut for hibernation (FN + F12) does more either.

Not sure if this is enough information for someone to help me, but I would be happy to provide you with more information if necessary and I would be grateful for any help or suggestion.

    Thank you

    Thibault

I was so a lot of work lately have a chance to try this fix, but I uninstall a program and accidentally also reinstalled the driver Intel HD...

After reinstalling it, the problem seems to be fixed so I guess it could have been a driver after all problem

    Thanks for the help anyway

  • MBA mid 2013 battery life

    Hello

I use a lot for the lat three years my MBA 13', now the number of cycles is about 560 and battery life is at 85% of the nominal capacity. Fine with that. Battery life, however, is bad enough. I think I can get half of what I used when first got (12 hours with WiFi, 16-18 without connection). Can it be considered normal due to wear of the battery? Maybe I should change? This is a common problem and it is because of the different OS (I'm on El Capitan, always up to date)?

    Thank you.

Batteries do not last forever.  From what you posted, it is within the limits of what could be expected.

According to the specifications of Apple, when the level of maximum load is 80% less than the charge level of the original design, the battery then is "exhausted" and must be replaced.  Not quite there yet.

If your situation requires a long battery operating time, replace, otherwise continue as you are.

    Ciao.

  • DV9000 laptop battery life

I have a HP dv9000 series laptop for about 2 years and my battery is in poor condition.  It is typical of this battery life is only 2 years? Given that I keep my PC plugged in most of the time, he wears on the battery? I just want to know if I should buy a new battery or do I check to see if it is covered by the warranty.

    Thank you

I'll save you the trouble. Even if you get the longer warranty the battery is covered with padt 1 year generally not unless you have obtained the guarantee of store on top of the HP warranty. 2 years isn't a bad battery life. That's all what I expect to get. Battery life is governed by the number of cycles of discharge and duration and charges since. If you take a battery that is new in the box, it will be lower after 2 years when new even if you do not use. If you literally never use the battery you can remove it during the execution of the laptop on the sector. He unloads up to like 30% and store it in a cool, dry and dark place (but not in the refrigerator).

  • Satellite A100-493 - short battery life

    Hei,
I installed windows 7 on my Toshiba ' Satellite A100-493. After the installation of the battery life drops to 20 min. What can I do?

And I read in the support that toshiba has a battery for this model Exchange program, it is now possible to change the battery?

    Welcome them
    Kalle

    Hey Buddy,

Where did you read about this procedure to Exchange battery?

In my opinion, the dough is near end of life because Satellite A100 is old laptop model and if you didn t exchange the battery yet it seems to be bad now.

Usually, a battery can be recharged 500 - 1000 times and after that, need to replace the battery because it s a part not reusable.

  • Want to m6-w105dx: m6-w105dx battery life

    Hello

I have a laptop Envy m6-w105dx and it is mostly used at home. For this reason, it is still connected to the power. As I am not able to remove the battery, I was wondering if being connected to the power supply of all time could damage the battery or decrease its average life expectancy.

If I damage the battery, what would it be the solution for this problem?

It is a common question. Connected to power all the time is not damage to the battery, but it may result in a little less than life. The battery has a microchip inside that account of the cycles and if you turn it off let it sit for a few days and then turn on the computer back will have to charge the battery upward, less than 95% and it will read as an undergraduate and the battery has stop working after a certain number of cycles to prevent it from being a danger to the power. Older lithium-ion batteries can become a danger if they have too many cycles of charge/discharge on them so batteries are actually pre-programmed to stop working until they're really chemically dead.

The battery may not overload, however, for plugging it on food all the time isn't a bad thing regarding who's going. The cycles can occur only if you have the power and turn off and let off and have the power adapter to the coast for a few days or more. Even if you remove and store the battery it will lose the ability only to sitting in storage, so there is really no perfect answer to the laptop battery life.

So basically, for most people, the battery is something 'use it and forget it ". Don't let him lead your life, just leave it in place and use the laptop as you want. The only thing that you should avoid is discharging the battery below 15-20%. They do not like a lot. There is no memory effect most so you can use it on battery, run it to say 70% then it load up. No problem with that.

You have to assume that you will have a new battery at some point if you keep the laptop more than about 2 years.

    Post back with more questions.
