Pavilion 15 M1Y29UA #ABA: manual Bios Update p78

HP Support Assistant says update BIOS version p78 is available but fails during installation.  I downloaded the update to the BIOS (SP75294) and ran that manually, but it says the BIOS update is blocked (on Windows) and only gives me the option to create a recovery USB disk or copy the files to another location. I created the recovery USB and followed the instructions on the site to update the BIOS via the HP boot configuration utility, but it is said to use the bin file corresponding to the ID of the system board.  Unfortunately, the ID of the card system on this laptop is 8093 and bin files are:

  • 08092.bin
  • 0809B.bin
  • 080A0.bin
  • 080A9.bin

Anyone happen to know which of these files is the correct bin file (if any)?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @desk_jedi

Thanks for the reply!

Try to download the new revision which was transferred yesterday and create the media as stated in the document of restoration of the BIOS, which would be the second safest way to update the BIOS. The safest way is to let the BIOS update occurred on its own thanks to the Assistant de Support HP, which may or may not have the new revision again as the site.

I hope this information was useful!

  • Pavilion x 2 10-n155sa: bios update does not install

HP Support Assistant on a new Pavilion x 2 detachable (10-n155sa) said that the needs of the (Doritos 2.0) bios updated. He is currently F04 and offered new is F06.

I accept the option of automatic update and it downloads etc and to sit down again 'installation' for too long. The PC is not suspended and the update can be cancelled OK, to keep the laptop on F04. It seems not really 'out' at all and immediately cancels the installation (I expected to take a long time to regularize).

The laptop is running. I tried several times now and just on the installation screen.

Someone at - it ideas? Is there a problem with this update? Any alternative to the automated mechanism?

    Hello KB10,.

You try to update the bios through the HP Support assistant or you download the file directly on the site of HP?

    IF not, I'll try later.

    Here's the direct link... SP73945.exe

But in all reality, If it's not broken don't fix it. IF you don't have problems with the bios, then do not update!

BIOS update are a different animal than updating a driver. If something goes wrong, you have enabled your system in a brick.

And the HP Support assistant says you need to update the bios is not because its necessary. Don't do that if its absolutely need.

    But good luck anyway.

I have a Pavilion dv6-1050us, and before the update of the bios as recommended by HP my charger would show in the taskbar as well as the battery is charging and it has been plugged in as well as the led at the front left side of the laptop.  Since the update of the bios load icon in the taskbar does not display and the led light that recharges the battery watch is no longer turns upward.  I know it's power goes to the battery because the battery shows 100% remaining and unload only after I unplug the power.  Is there a way to restore the bios to the previous version, even if the bios has been flashed by the HP program uses?

Hello erosfaus, here is the link for the specifications of your system. Since you don't mention which version of Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) you want to install on your system, you may want to download and run the Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if your system can be upgraded to Windows 7.

I also checked for an update of the BIOS and did not find one for your system.

Because your system was shipped with Windows XP, you would not be able to upgrade to Windows 7, but be required to perform a new installation. It is of course, if your system can be upgarded to Windows 7.

Here is the link for Windows Upgarde Advisor.

  • HP Pavilion 15-e017tx - button Wireless does not work after bios update

    Hello

I have the HP Pavilion 15-e017tx for the past 8 months.

Press f12 to this machine is shared by the key wireless button, which was working fine until there was a BIOS update last week.

Now I try to turn off the wireless using this button it will not respond (light orange).

I checked the Device Manager, there seems to be a problem with the driver.

IF you have knowledge of this problem please let me know.

    Thank you

    Hello:

The update of the BIOS should affect the driver wireless button.

I would recommend that you reinstall as the unknown device is probably the one.

  • The HP Pavilion a6560z bios update

    I have a HP Pavilion a6560z. Product #: KZ851AV

I tried to upgrade the processor of double base installed to a phenom x 4 9550, that my research shows is compatible as long as I have updated the bios. I am currently running bios version 5.14 20/06/2008. My problem is the OS original on this PC is Vista, I erased this OS and now run Win 7. I found an update of bios, version 5.49 but she said do not be there except if Vista is installed. Will install this bios brick Council since its desingned for vista?

I can't enter the bios with the 9550 installed but it does not start in windows. The bios shows that it is a blah blah Phenom quad core, so at least he acknowledges that, but when I try to load windows it says "the file is maybe damaged. The file header checksum does not match the checksum calculated. "I read that had a memory problem and tried 8 different sticks, all with the same result, so I thought it was a bios problem. Anyway, any help on a version of bios, I can try without bricking advice would be greatly appreciated. Even if its for Vista that I am always willing to try. This pc is not much of value. Thank you.

    You are welcome.

  • Pavilion Media Center M8400f Bios Update for Windows 7

HP Pavilion Media Center m8400f. The Vista operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 (64 bit) a number of years.

I've updated one of my hard drives with a SanDisk SSD (it is now my main drive with the operating system and all my files on board).

The bios on the PC has never been updated.

The SanDisk SSD dashboard software will not recognize the SanDisk SSD as the system has designated the SSD as a SCSI device. I need to access the bios for this change to AHCI. The current bios does not support this.

The PC has a card mother MCP61PM-HM. There is no update for Windows 7 BIOS for that motherboard I know (updates Vista only).

SanDisk gave me a link to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-82094-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... that shows a card mother M2P61PM-HM for m8400f desktop PC. This Bios download supports Windows 7 (64 bit).

Can update the Bios to download safely a card mother M2P61PM-HM for card mother MCP61PM-HM I currently have?

    Hello

The HP BIOS update link provided SanDisk is an update of the BIOS of your PC. It is listed under Win Vista 64 bit driver downloads here.

If you look at the site to download the drivers for your PC you'll only see driver support for Win Vista but on 2010-04-08, Version 5.29, 1.47 M BIOS updatedshows support for Win 7.

But the problem is this: the BIOS updates must be performed using the PC operating system comes with; in your case, Win Vista. Extreme care must be exercised when updating the BIOS under normal circumstances. I would not classify your situation as usual.

I saw others download an update of the BIOS for their PC and try to install an operating system upgraded with disastrous effects. The PC was bricked.

Be prepared for the worst case if you try to install the update to the BIOS.

    Hello

Disconnect the PC and press and hold power for 30 seconds. Remove and replace the battery CMOS. It's a $4 item. Now let's see what happens. If no joy, then try the steps above once again.

If your PC support has been changed or modified then put it back in its original state.

  • HP Notebook X7W81UA #ABA: HP BIOS recommended update: should I update?

Hey guys. I just bought a new PC for the school and the HP Support Assistant program recommends an update the BIOS. Now, I know that the update is available, but I also know that you should only update in general if there is a problem as the BIOS update is risky if not done correctly.

Now since is a recommended update, I tried the update and there not twice. I don't want to keep taking chances to spoil a whole new machine just for an update which may even not been necessary in the first instance.

What I would like to know what exactly this release Add/fix on this machine? I already searched the Internet but have failed to find a description for this particular update. If someone could please take a look at the attached screen shot and let me know what this update is for, I would be very grateful. • HP Pavilion Notebook N9R33EA # a: problems with the BIOS update (HP Support Assistant)

I was offered an update of software SP77359, which seems to me to be an update of the BIOS provided by HP Support Assistant. Version F.82Ap1. Two days ago, I updated the BIOS via the support and, on the report wizard got an other update via the support Wizard. I applied this patch to find that it was still an other BIOS update and now, which has been applied this third update has appeared. Please let know us how I do.

The model number of my machine is actually N9R33EA #ABU (as reported by the Assistant to support) but ths was too long to type in the name of the product.

Your laptop is a HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab208na (ENERGY STAR) for later use.

I wouldn't update. Simply click the X to remove the download and install the list in the help Wizard.

The current version on your laptop support portal is F.8.1

  • Pavilion 15-p246sa: BIOS update successful but cannot now access the BIOS screen

The recommendation in HP Support Assistant I've just updated BIOS version f33, f34.  This succeeded and the Pavilion starts normally.

However when I try pressing ESC at startup key is ignored and the trunk.

How to reactivate the computer to respond to the ESC key and allow me to access the system configuration utility?  Have I somehow corrupt CMOS data?

SOLVED!  I discovered the site of download drivers HP there is more BIOS updates for my Pavilion, the last being F.42.  So I installed this.

At that time, it was possible to get the system configuration utility by pressing the ESC key.  However, it works a cold power upward, not reboot.

Also the window by pressing the key is very short, some say about one-fifth of a second, and if you press two times you do not see the system configuration at all.  If some patience is required.

  • G7-1329wm Pavilion: 1329wm RAM Dual Channel. Update the bios?

I bought 8 gigs of RAM laptop for my G7-1329wm Pavilion. Here it is:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B00OUK919M?PSC=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00

It is already much faster than what I had before. My problem is that I expected to run at a speed of 2133 MHz and dual channel mode. CPU - Z does not have these results.

The two RAM slots show the same thing.

It made me start to wonder. Maybe my cell phone does not support dual channel mode or these speeds. So I was wondering if I could do a BIOS update if everything goes well accept more modern equipment and their speed. I checked in CPU - Z that my bios is old path, return from 2012. I couldn't find any support for an update through HP. Can an HP expert please let me know what I can do to get the most out of my RAM speed?

    Repair:

DDR3/1333 MHz (DDR3-1600 (1 GB / 2 GB / 4 GB / 8 GB) modules of memory supported as an alternative source for the DDR3-1333)

So max the card/motherboard/BIOS processor speed will allow the memory runs is at 1333 mhz. I'm frankly surprised the memory you have installed works at all. It's the equivalent of putting gasoline in an engine that can be only ordinary.

The problem goes well beyond BIOS. The chipset can operate at the maximum of 1600 mhz, and HP has set up to run at 1333.

    It is the specified memory:

    Memory modules (DDR3 10600 1333 MHz 2): 4 GB 621569-001

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-621569-001-1333MHz-PC3-10600-SODIMM/DP/B005UF674S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1457907477&SR=8-1&keywords=621569-001

It may seem paradoxical, but your laptop can actually run a little faster and in double channel if you put in the slower memory. You can see there is a lot of information in gray in the CPU - Z I think because the system is not able to see all the technical features of memory, that she does not expect to be there.

  • Pavilion 15-n010tx: HP 15-n010tx BIOS update problem - no internet. Help!

    Hello

On how to solve the problem of Intel VT - X on the BIOS, even if I enable vt - x on the BIOS it doesn't allow me to install HAXM. So I decided to update the BIOS. My BIOS version was F.66 A. I checked on the HP software and the download page for the BIOS for HP Pavilion 15 - n010tx. He showed two results:

    http://support.HP.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-15-n000-notebook-PC-series/5401225/model...

I downloaded the update of the BIOS to F.67 and used the Setup program to update my BIOS sucessfully. But then I noticed that I can not internet CCADE on Google chrome. So I decided to restore the BIOS. But on his way, I chose the version F.67.A himself to a restore to. this has changed my current versions and earlier BIOS F.67. I tried to install the F.66 A by downloading its download file, but does not have that, the update of the BIOS in the installer option has been disabled.

Tried to install A F.66 via external USB using HP_TOOLS and create image files. But during the installation it management through Firmware utility, it says "Unable to BIOS Open File signature."

Maybe if I can find the correct SIG file, it will be solved.

I messed up a lot. My pc boots fine. Everything is going well except the internet connection.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
