Pavilion 15-p053np: Wi - Fi, screen LCD FHD upgrade and second HARD drive

Hello

I have a 15-p053np Pavilion and a card Wi-fi/bt RTL8723BE 1 x 1, I want to replace it with a better card, but I can't find a service manual.

also, I see a model like mine, but with a Full HD screen and want to know if it is also compatible.

I replaced internal 500 gb HDD with a SSD 120 GB and I do not use the dvd player, if I buy an internal basket and replace it with the 500 GB hard drive, it's going to work?

Hello:

Here is the link to the page of user guides for your laptop model series, which includes the maintenance manual.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-15-P000-notebook-PC-series/6936226/model/7174371/manuals

As your model has an AMD processor and chipset, you cannot replace the existing wireless card with a processor Intel, one.

There are too many cards Intel does not not on models with AMD hardware.

My recommendation, if you want a card dual band N Wireless with bluetooth, would be to get the Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2 × 2 adapter Wi - Fi, Broadcom Bluetooth4.0 adapter - part # 730668-001 HP

You can get the generic card cheaper on Amazon than recovering from HP.

I can't answer your other questions.

  • Adding a second hard drive to a 500-380nf Pavilion?

    I just bought a new 500-380nf Pavilion.

In the store I did understand the seller I was intending to add second hard drive to a 1 to SATA (which I already loaded with all my media files).

However, now I am home and have taken the side panel, it seems that the system a capacity for 2 more SATA connections on the motherboard, power cable from spare at least one and a lot of physical space.

BUT the chassis appears to have been designed with ONLY 2 bays - that are occupied by the existing hard drive and the optical drive.   Am I missing something?   There is a place to mount the second hard drive, isn't there?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Some models of the HP 500 - xxx series are provsioned for a 2.5 device "(SDD ou HD)."  See the image below.

If you have removed the optical drive you can then use a 5.25 "to two hard drive adapter 2.5"since you mentioned a 2.5 hard drive".

    Hello

You need two cables, one is a sata cable:

    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/30305659/706331346/STARTech-com-6in-SATA-to-right-angle-SATA-serial-ATA-cable-female-SATA-female-SATA-6-inch-red/ListingDetails.html?_%24JA=TSID:13315% 7Ccat: 30305659% 7Cprd: 30305659 & kw = {keyword}

This cable is only for data and connect the hard drive to the SATA connector on the motherboard.

    The other cable is energy:

    http://www.itpartsdirect.com/STARTech-15-24cm-4-pin-Molex-to-SATA-power-cable-adaptor.html

It connects the hard drive to the PSU.

You can also buy a combo like this cable:

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/DP/B00064GBT4/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9550951989&ref=asc_df_B00064GBT4

All you have to do is to connect the hard drive and that's it. Make sure that the main drive with the operating system is connected to the primary SATA connector (I think there are the numbers 1, 2, 3...)

I installed a seagate (seagate 2 TB Barracuda SATA) second drive on my desktop computer.  When I got to the top I could go to the control panel and not see under the heading records.  Seagate said to go to the BIOS and choose 'Auto Connect your new drive', but there is no other choice to Auto Connect.  If anyone can tell me who is the right choice on the BIOS screen to find and identify my new second hard drive?

    Hello

In the disk management window, right-click on your new HARD drive and select Format to start the wizard.  Windows 7 will affect a Volume label so if your happy with it, just leave the default.  File system is NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once this done, your new HARD disk should now appear when you look under the computer.

I want to add a second hard drive to a HP Pavilion A1700n Pc desktop to a new HP Pavilion P6-2100 Desktop Pc, so I can transfer files.

    milehisb,

Welcome on the user forums.  Section manuals PDF from HP did not offer a guide to upgrade and Service.

There are several options, depending on your needs and your expertise with the internal components of a computer.

If you goal is to simply get the data off the drive, then put it back in the A1700n, I would use #1.

    (1) use this external adapter for occasional use:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232002

    (2) first search to find if you have a spare Sata power plug. Or you will need an adapter (molex 4pin to Sata).

    Hello

How fast is fast is the real question.

Have you looked at hybrid drives OCZ? Expensive but probably the fastest option.

Seagate also made a hybrid hard drive.  Good price... You will need a 3.5 "to 2.5" support if the player does not support.  If you install the drive in an empty optical Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 2.5" support.

Your other choice is 7 200 or 10 000 rpm traditional hard drives.

Another option would be to add a PCI sata and two external hard dirves configured in RAID 0.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-4180ea second hard drive

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv7-4180ea (XE274EA #ABU). One of the reasons why I chose this laptop was because it was announced as being able to have two hard drives.

When I open the HDD I discovered that it there is no way to install a second hard drive, because the cable and the caddy is missing.

Anyone know the part number for it? The necessary cable is longer, so the previous parts for DV7 don't work with it. I called my local provider of HP, and they did not know the number of the piece, which is a little ridiculous. I probably have to pay RIP-OFF prices for something that should have been included in the laptop in the first place.

HP has not yet, but do to the sites of third parties.

    NewMode

These guys are the main suppliers of spare hard drive caddy. It will work. HP eventually will do the part available but don't hold your breath. $40 is a bit strong but not terrible. HP will charge more when they make available.

  • Screen LCD HP w1907 and placement of external hard drive.

I was wondering if my new set-up is safe. I mounted my monitor on a wall bracket and I have a drive external hard iOmega 1 TB on a half inch behind it. Is this safe, or will I have to move the hard disk so as not to affect the performance of each device? I don't want something bad happens or, but especially not the hard drive. I'm including two pictures so you can see what I mean. You'll excuse the mess, because I just finished the installation, a few minutes ago. A picture is a front view, to show what looks like the establishment. The other is a side view, so you can see what kind of game I'm talking about. The hard drive and monitor do not touch each other, but it's less than an inch between the two, and like I said before, I don't want to take any chances on ruining the monitor or the hard drive. Thanks in advance for any input you can give me.

Thanks for a quick reply Aussie. The pictures she showed not too well, but there is a gap of 1 inch between the top of the screen and the bottom of the shelf I rode slot, maybe a little more. I made sure to leave enough space for the power button as well as I wanted it to have the appearance to be suspended in the air, more or less. I'm not really worried about the heat out of the hard drive, because this is only on the top, which is closer to the screen, BUT, I have a small bedside fan that I mounted in the thread hole to extract hot air out, and it works fine. The upper part of the hard drive gets that warm now, rather than being about to burn a helping hand when I had put it on the desktop, on the side walk.

My main concern had to do with magnetic things, which apparently does not apply to LCDs, because this configuration has worked very well since I had finished it. I think that only applies to CRT monitors, because everything I pulled hard in the last week and a half the disk worked fine!

Thanks again for the quick response!

  • HP Pavilion 17-e119wm: reinstall Windows 10 operating system after replacing the hard drive

Hello, I bought a laptop HP Pavilion year last for work or school. He perfectly managed until yesterday when it was freezing to close unexpectedly. Waited about half an hour to see if it would work himself, I had several programs running at the same time. With no results, I did a hard shut down and left for about two hours. Trying to turn it back on, I was stuck on the HP Home screen for almost an hour. I turned off the and tried again. Sometimes I would be stuck on the startup screen, and sometimes he would show that he was about to auto repair, then the screen turns off. In addition, the recovery menu of the system through the F11 key did not work, so I did a Quick Test of system and received a short Drive DST hard failure.

I plan to buy a replacement HGST 5 K 1000 1 TB hard Drive from the manufacturer; However, my warranty expired last month, and I'm not sure how to reinstall the OS (installed with Windows 8.1 then upgraded to Windows 10 factory), once the new hard drive in place.

I've never done a HP system recovery Image, and I'm low on funds, so I'm not able to contact HP directly. Help, please. I am a student and I work from home, so I am at a loss without my system.

If you want to reinstall Windows 10, then this is the part the more easy and free.  I understand, completed after the upgrade to Windows 10, then you can clean install Windows 10 site M$.

On a work computer, go to the WINDOWS 10 DOWNLOAD, scroll down to the purple 'Download tool now 64 Bit' click that to let do its thing.  On the next screen, choose 'Create the installation media for another PC', then what kind of media you want to use DVD or USB flash.  Once created, install Windows 10 on the PC in question - when everything that fact it is activated.

  • HP Pavilion t770.uk: SECOND HARD drive IS NOT SHOWING in DISK MANAGEMENT

I fitted a new HDD in my desktop Pavilion PC second, and the device appears in the DEVICE MANAGER and the BIOS. However, the second HDD does not appear in DISK MANAGEMENT and so I can't initialize it or return a drive letter. The power and serial data cables are OK. I also tried a SMART scan to check the problem. A little SMART hard drive test should take about one minute, but after 10 minutes, it's still a test on the HARD drive. The drive is defective?

It seems that the resolution has been set to a low value until the operating system executes the features of the screen and the graphics card.  The boxes on the anouncement screens are larger on low reslution settings.   Windows XP is not as alert as the Windows 7 operating system, but he eventually came around.

I'm happy that everything is good now.

STIL, blue screen, F11) key doesnn can't work, not activate the product key... Please help...

    Hello

Here is the HP for Vista recovery information.

"Performing a recovery of the system HP (Windows Vista)"

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '
