Pavilion 15-p079no: HP Pavilion 15-p079no keyboard disabled

I posted this first portable other issues, but it seems that is better suited for her

Hi, I had this problem with my laptop (HP Pavilion 15-p079no) since yesterday. I don't really know where the shoe pinches.

The problem is that the keyboard stops working after that I connect with the computer. Before you connect (Windows 8.1), all the keys work perfectly well. However, after the signing, they stop working. When I try to press a key, the computer lets a little voice from the speakers, this pretty much signaling that the computer recognizes the keystrokes, but just do not do anything.

I doubt that it is a hardware problem, given that the keyboard works perfectly fine until I have decide to open a session. But what causes the keyboard disabled, and how to activate this new?

Hello

As the keyboard works until you connect, check the following.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select the "ease of access Center.

Select the option "make the keyboard easier to use".

If there is a check mark next to 'Turn on filter keys', click the box to Remove , and then click apply and then click Ok to save this change.

Kind regards

Please help if you can I have a paper to write, and this problem is difficult/impossible to work with.

    Hello

Maybe it's a hardware problem, but it is always worth trying the following.

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right-click on the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" entry and select uninstall.

When this is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  • Pavilion ab032tx: double keyboard press

    I have the HP Pavilion 15 laptop - ab032TX.

The keyboard is funny stuff when I try to type some special characters.

For example, when I press on the "^" (Shift + 6) key secret, nothing appears on the screen.

When I press it again, two of the carat characters appear.

    1. press SHIFT + 6

    [                    ]

    2. press SHIFT + 6 new

    [^^                  ]

    or

    1. press SHIFT + 6

    [                  ]

    2. Press any other key (example b)

    [^b                 ]

The same thing happens with the characters

    '

    and

    "

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply!

However, I found the solution to my problem, just after the posting of the question.

    My solution:

Go to the control panel-> clock, language and region-> language

For the language 'English (India)', select the input method: keyboard as "English (India).

[Earlier the layout of the keyboard is "United States - International"

who supports probably typing in German, Spanish and other languages.

The problem was solved by using the configuration of the English keyboard (India)]

  • Pavilion P6-2378: keyboard driver

Hello, I have just completed an update of Windows 8 and lost the on-screen order of volume that would normally show on the upper left of my office to win 8.  I was wondering if someone could provide me the SoftPack containing the keyboard for my Pavilion P6-2378 Desktop system driver? I already watched all the drivers available, but the keyboard driver wasn't there.  Thank you in advance!

Hello, I, m you just answer myself (to see and help) that I found the answer to my problem in a previous post.  Most of the credit goes to:

Dunidar, who said the previous displays the following:

"I understand as your controls audio keyboard are disabled and you are looking to reactivate without performing all of the computer." You should be able to restore by simply reinstalling your Audio drivers. You can do this by downloading and installing the IDT High Definition Audio Driver for your computer. »

So I uninstalled the existing driver and reinstalled the original driver of the HP pilot area.  I have also told me on another site to run the following batch program after the installation of the driver and before a reboot:

    off @echo
departure of kbdhid sc config = request
    output

This helped my keyboard volume controls and volume screen to work.  The batch program, run before a restart, has also worked to restore the volume on-screen display when the keyboard volume buttons still work.

This problem occurs if you start your computer in Safe Mode? Your keyboard is connected to a PS2 or USB port?

  • Pavilion G6: My keyboard is not found

Hi I have a problem with my laptop HP Pavilion g6, which is not the keyboard works me before hitting a button and I got a number and letter. But now do not work me across the keyboard and what I write with the keyboard of the screen that occurred just after cleaning my keyboard can anyone help

    Hello OskarGomez,

Have you tested the laptop out with an external keyboard by chance?

If the keyboard is not responding after it cleaned, it is possible that the cable Ribbon connecting to the motherboard was loose, disconnected, or broken. Try to connect to an external keyboard if the external keyboard responds, maybe try to put up the keyboard while he would inspect the cable for any visible damage.

See this document for a walkthrough on how to remove and replace the keyboard properly.

I have a Pavilion HP 15 months I bought for my mother, but she's not interested. It was rarely used, the last time was when I upgraded to WIN - 10 in June 2016.

  • HP Pavilion g4 laptop keyboard does not

    I have a laptop HP Pavilion 1015dx g4.

In recent weeks, my laptop was very loud and also work well. So, I read an article in the HP website on the cleaning of the fan.

So I disassembled my laptop and cleaned the fan. Then, I put in place what it was before (at least I think I did). Then I turned on the laptop and the keyboard was not working. I checked Device Manager and it showed 'keyboard works correctly. So, once more, I disassembled the laptop and I couldn't identify the problem. There are three bands of clamping plastic connected to the motherboard of the keyboard case. It runs from the power button and the other two for the touchpad. So I don't see any wire connected directly to the motherboard of the keyboard. In Device Manager, it shows the PS/2 keyboard.

I haven't lost any laptop internal parts and to the best of my knowledge, I kept things as they were. Can someone help me with this problem?

Yes and again one thing... There was a BIOS update before do me all these things.

Never mind. I forgot to plug in the cable to the motherboard keboard.

  • Pavilion 15-b142dx keyboard some keys not working not

A friend gave me their 15-b142dx sleekbook Pavilion, apparently AFTER they spill some type of liquid inside. I was able to start the computer, however, there is still a problem with the keyboard.  When the keyboard is installed in the laptop, several of the keys do not work. However, when I go out (and hang with some plastics) it works fine.  I disconnected the ribbon cable and took little alcohol to clean the area. I was also able to run HP diagnostics on the startup, short and long versions and they come back ok.  In addition, I connected an external keyboard and it worked fine. I searched the forum for this type of question and do not see. If someone has had this problem, or I'm looking to replace the keyboard?

I am currently running windows 8.1. I don't get any error messages, but I noticed that HP does not have a litmus test of keyboard in his diagnoses.

    Hi there @MrKen99

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that some of your keys do not work, after that little liquid has decided to make an unwanted visit to the Board of Directors. I'm happy to help you with this.

In my sordid past that I've seen some really messed up keyboards, due to things like, coffee, cola, water, whatever. My most memorable was someone who gave me a computer that has been used in a kitchen and was close to a deep Fryer, and the keyboard was not only covered with oil and fat, but a generation of fuzzy dust throughout the keyboard upwards. In this case, I have recommended a replacement as the cost to clean it was more expensive than a new one.

In any case, it sounds as if you have already tried to clean it up, but if you do not jump off the keys to delinquency / inactive, the contacts could be "sticky". Make a note of the keys that are the problem and treat them individually. This document shows how to remove and replace the keys on a standard notebook keyboard.

Computer keyboard laptop troubleshooting (Windows 8)

If you don't have any success doing this then I would look at the keyboard, or by using an external keyboard replacement. If you choose a replacement you can check the service manual for it, and it will give a list the items supported.
