Pavilion 15: Power problems all around

OK, first of all: when the computer goes into sleep/hibernation, it will start. Turns on the power button, but clicking, pressing the buttons and lift the lid do nothing. I have to press the power button and turn it back on.

Secondly, when I stopped it (correctly, in the menu windows) it is not off! The power button is still on and brings me to the #1 problem.

I make more from holding the button down.

Hello

If your laptop has an Intel chipset, try the following - (if you are unsure, post back with complete your laptop model number 15 series).

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close the open windows and restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download the driver directly from Intel IMEI on the following link, unzip the and run the installer.

https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/26127/Intel-management-engine-consumer-driver-for-Intel-nu...

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

When the machine rebooted, re - activate the quick start and restart the computer once more - let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking.

Kind regards

DP - K

  • Pavilion 17F061us: power supply problems

Yesterday I noticed that my laptop is running on battery power, even if we connected it with the adapter/power cord. If we unplug the power cord from the battery is exhausted and visualizes time on battery.  While we have plugged into the wall it still shows on the battery, but it does not destroy.  She remains stable at the current level of battery power (ex: all day yesterday, it was plugged in and showed the other 70%.)  To do this, not fees, but also not to lose more power.  When I unplugged the power cord battery power starts flowing as expected.  The box on the adapter cord feels slightly warm, will be especially warm before this current problem.  Taking wiggles but only slightly and waved to does not affect the power somehow.  I shutdown, removed the battery and tried restarted with the power supply cord is plugged in, it does not start.  I am currently planning to order a new power cord/adapter charger but not sure that this is the problem.  Is anyway to know if it's decision and not the wrong other than exclude with a new shot cord cord?   Also, is there anything else I may be missing it could be?

    Hi there @Aeg50,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I read your post on the Forums of HP Support. I did some research and found some documents for you based on a problem that you had described.

Please follow these troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know the results.

  • possible power problem

    Hello

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 7865 has started to give me some power problems.  I followed the troubleshooting steps to

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph06788#n414

The first time it's happened that I noticed that the power light little would go as I connect the power cord to the back of the unit.  But the little green light and then returned.  After some tests, the power light remained on and I was able to turn on the pc.  However, it started again this morning so I finally took my monitor power cord and used this one to connect the power supply to the back of the computer and to a power outlet and it works.  I plug the pc power cord into the monitor and my monitor works too so I don't know if it is or is not the power cord, but I'll go out and get a new one and see if that solves all my problems.

However, my question is this... If the problem is with the power supply that I plug in can be replaced?  If so, it is something I can do myself or should I consider somewhere to do?  Also, if I need to replace the power supply and I can do it, how can I know what type of replacement power supply unit power I need to get and are there any other cables that I also need?

Thank you so much for all your help.

  • On the Satellite P30-131 power problem

I have a power problem and I tried the process of elimination, but could do with help, I gave as much detail as possible and appreciate any help or advice.

This started a few weeks ago and seems to be deteriorating slowly.
I turned on the laptop and all 3 lights before the main power on fully charged battery light and light green...

I started noticing a few times when my power cord is plugged into the laptop that, without warning, the laptop switches to the battery power and also turns off power light, battery light turns off too but which may or may not happen, in any case the laptop is still on but now running on battery.

I then out of the supply cable and reconnected it hoping that power is restored, but it has no effect, I have to close then low laptop unplug then Pug back in and I get all 3 lights and then I can start.
Now, when I boot it does not always solve the problem and I can finish on a few seconds of starting battery.

Its certainly not the battery because it has a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

The reason I think it is perhaps one of them is when the laptop going to battery, lead that is always plugged into laptop, I moved, and this can cause the return of t lights and also the laptop back in, power once again, but if I let go then it goes to the battery again one the light turns off. I also took the battery out and kicked and the laptop works but has lost the power sometimes when I moved it turned off my tour so I'm sure that it is related to the lead, but do not know if its internal or external.

    Any help or advice appreciated

    Thank you

What kind of help did you expect exactly?

    > Its certainly not the battery as it was a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

It seems you have tested everything that could be tested using common control procedures, I think that more is not possible
I can provide also a few suggestions and I m coming to the conclusion that neither electronic power supply is not ok or your power adapter.
But I would tend to the first; electronic power supply.

As you can see that these are only suggestions

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

    Hello

In Diablo 2, it must use a Glide Wrapper to get wide format support, and who should set the borders of balck.

Make sure that, if the Aero glass theme is enabled. If this is the case, disable it.
The wrapper uses the OpenGL interface. In Windows 7, the OpenGL interface is not supported, if Aero glass is enabled.
In the beginning-link Diablo2, you define, who at the game-start the Aero glass theme will be disabled automatically. And to put an end to the program automatically activated again:
in the properties of the D2-beginning-link go to compatibility, put there the brand to "Disable desktop composition".

    Also try this;

Right click on your desktop and go to "Graphics Options" then "Panel Fit" then click on "full screen (no border).

  • HP Pavilion 23 touch screen all in one

After I upgraded to Windows mytouchscreen does not work, when I look for the stylus and touch it says that I don't have, I tried to download

    Hello new @YOLIE80S,

At this point, I would say we have all the drivers for your computer on Windows 8.1. I would like to have you go to the drivers page from PC Desktop HP Pavilion TouchSmart 23 - f217c all-in-one and start with the Chipset drivers. Once they are installed you should re - install ALL drivers for your computer.

If the above does not work, we will have to back up, recover your computer to factory settings, run ALL the HP and Windows updates and try again Windows 8.1 update. To save your personal information and ensure it is not lost, I would like you to look at and follow the steps in the HP Support document: backup of files (Windows 8), who will be your personal files are up to date.

CAVEAT! If you want to keep the e-mails or bookmarks/favorites that you want to save them as I do not think they are saved in the backup HP process.

Then, I would like to see again you and follow the steps in the HP Support document: performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system, which will allow you through to get your computer back to factory settings.

IMPORTANT - your staff of files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts and desktop themes are permanently deleted. The settings on the computer are returned for values by default (as it was when it came from the factory). All applications and software installed on the computer when it came from the factory are relocated, and their settings are reset to the default values. In addition, software, applications, programs, and everything you have installed or saved on the computer are deleted permanently.

Once you have recovered your computer, don't forget to run ALL the updates from HP and then run ALL Windows 8 updates. Finally, run the 8.1 Windows Update, and then install all the drivers on page all-in-one HP Pavilion TouchSmart 23 - f217c drivers PC Desktop that I linked at the beginning of this post

If ultimately it does not work the Pen look and Touch of your computer is perhaps not currently compatible with Windows 8.1 and you may have to wait to see if new drivers are validated. I want to thank you for display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
