  • RALink RT3290 802.11bgn adapter Wi - Fi doesn't work does not correctly

I bought a HP Pavilion TouchSmart with Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter. Everything worked fine until I can't say when it started really, I've had a few problems with my WiFi connection. I'm not really sure, but I have the feeling that it has been getting worse over time. Suddenly, the internet connection is lost. Troubleshooting gives me different results, most of the time that it is "the default gateway is not available." Sometimes it is fixed, sometimes not. I looked online, what could be the problem. Then I opened my device manager and checked the network card, unchecked "allow the computer to turn off this device...". ", but that did not help. Once the power management tab was not yet available. Sometimes, the card is disabled. Do not know why. Sometimes I can turn it on just by clicking on activate. This average doen't, that I have no internet, only that the adapter is enabled. Sometimes she even let me enable it.

    - And he dropped my internet connection again!

Troubleshooting: 'the default gateway is not available"- fixed

I've updated the WiFi card to the 5.0.37.0 version. Does not solve the problem.
Sometimes my computer tells me that there are no available connections. But I know that there are plenty around.

Someone help me please! I'm desperate!

    Thank you.

    Silke

I think that my problem has never been with the WiFi adapter. A month ago, I went to Comcast (with 105 MB/s) to AT & T (with 18 Mbit/s). Since then, I didn't at all connectivity issues. And as incredible as it may seem my internet speed is the same, since the speed of Comcast almost never reached above 20 Mbps. If I would have known that sooner! Would have saved me hours or even days with internet connectivity and problems on the phone with the Comcast people!

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice. Maybe my information can help others with the same questions.

I use HP PAVILION 15-E015TX. I have reset my windows 8 OS recently due to a corruption of the data. After the reset of the operating system, everything is reinstalled to its original state. But the Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter does not detect the wifi is working normally before you reset the operating system. • RAlink rt3290 b/g/n speed 54 Mbps

Hi, I recently bought a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b001sq with RAlink RT3290 radio.

I installed the latest driver for WiFi: sp59525 .exe [Ralink 802.11 Wireless LAN Adapter - 2012-10-29, Version 5.0.5.0]

My router is b/g/n; other computers in my house are connect to 150Mbps without any problem.

Yet, with flag Sleekbook maximum connection speed is 54 Mbps.

Why is this and what can be done? I need a response a.s.a.p. because I can't stay at that speed, and if this problem is not solvable, I go back to the seller and buy another brand. Help, please. Thank you.

In fact it is not a problem with the adapter.

  • HP 14-r015tx: replacement of the Wi - Fi card on HP 14-r015tx of Ralink RT3290

    Hi all experts out there.

Previously, I posted about my problem with connection Wi - Fi here. Finally, I just get my laptop to HP Service Center.

They told me that the Wi - Fi card I have (Ralink RT3290) is broken. They want to change it for me, but it cost me a lot.

So, I think to replace it myself. The problem is, is my (HP 14-r015tx) laptop has BIOS 'white list' of the Wi - Fi modules? If so, what cards can I use to replace the current Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn card WLAN? If not, what cards can I use to replace the current Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn and where to buy?

Here are a few on my PC:

    PC portable HP 14: 14-r015tx

Intel Core i5-4210U 3 MB of L3 Cache

    2 x 4 GB DDR3L 1600 MHz RAM

    NVIDIA GeForce M 820 2 GB GDDR3

Windows Home 64-bit (original OEM) 10

    RT3290 802.11bgn RALink WLAN + Bluetooth 4.0

    Realtek Ethernet

    Thank you kindly.

There is no white list but you address a quite difficult job here. This is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

See p. 71. The list of original HP components is on p. 71. I fear that there may be only 1 wireless antenna provided that will make it impossible to use the wi - fi cards really high-end market.

Since your module is Bluetooth and WiFi I guess you want a card that can do both, so your only choice is to get a replacement right for what you had or get the Realtek. Realtek or Ralink is a choice with no good answer.

Perhaps the best thing to do if you really want to do it yourself is to open it and see if there is a single antenna or 2. Once we figure that out, we can advise the best module for you to buy. Amazon has them and you can get fast delivery so need not leave it outside for a long time.

Ticket back for additional help. If you just want to go forward, this is the Realtek card.

    And the Ralink:

The price, you can see pretty good salesmen these give away because nobody really wants one.

  • Windows 8 pro and windows 8.1 pro 64 bit drivers ralink rt3290 and lan realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion GP A10 AMD laptop 2313-AX. The latest drivers from the HP website for windows 8 pro and windows 8.1 pro 64-bit drivers ralink rt3290 and lan realtek PCIe FE Family Controller appear limited in my laptop, but in the same laptop connectivity when I start in Windows Server 2008 R2, both LAN and wifi works very well.

Are there drivers available updated 2013 for these two hardware devices as dated?

Are there universal or generic drivers that can act as a workaround?

If so, please give me the URL for the same thing.

    Kind regards
    Sriram.

    Hi Steve,.

I came across similar issues where the driver manually enabled users to solve the problem. Uninstall the current network adapter drivers and manually install drivers that you previously downloaded.

    a. press Windows key + R key, type devmgmt.msc, hit the Enter key to open the Device Manager.

    b. expand network adapters, right-click on the listed network adapter and select Update driver software.

    c. click Browse my computer for driver software, click Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computerand then click on disk.

    d. in the dialog box to install from the disc, click Browse, locate the drivers, and then click Open.

    e. follow the steps described in the DeviceName update driver software dialog box to update the driver.

Try these steps and let us know the results.

  • Envy by dint of bad connection Ralink Rt3290 m6

I hope someone here can help me with a problem I have experienced with my computer. My adapter (ralink rt3290) wireless worked fine out of the box for some time now, but all of a sudden I feel a drop of signal strength on the 2nd level of my house. This has caused drops frequent internet connectivity. I've been browsing google and some of the HP support the forum topics to see if I could give all the answers and tried many solutions with little improvement.

    HP envy m6 - 1184ca

    Model no. C2L94UA

Wireless LAN adapter model: rt3290, last Ralink driver installed 5.025

    Updated BIOS updated to F.32

    Operating system: Windows 8

-Another active wifi devices work fine on the 2nd floor. I don't think it has to do with the router. I will restart it after that I have post this thread.

-J' fiddled with several revisions of driver without end I had similar problems with a card atheros on a Toshiba laptop that has been repaired with a 3rd driver. Currently, I'm on the latest driver 5.025 and fiddled with the settings of wireless network without success. I'll try to run a windows update to see if that fixes the problem.

-J' opened compartments accessible user on the bottom of my computer (and nothing else) and made sure the antennas are well seated in the card, no luck. Fortunately, I did affect all the components in the process

-I did not fell, spilled something or manhandled this laptop since I bought it.

Everybody don't think that the network card is defective, at this point? I sure hope not, but I'm starting to get suspicious: [if I can fix it at home somehow I would prefer that.] I understand that the card itself is not the 'higher end '; I got what I paid for. I have a repair pending for a defective LCD for this specific model, so I would also like to know if I can ask HP to replace the network adapter as well before I send, with the hope that it improves the issue? The laptop is fairly new and I'm still covered by the limited warranty. Otherwise, I would like to know what would be the other alternative and more stable network adapters is compatible with my motherboard, OS and wlan slot (I'm not too familiar with computer hardware) because the issue is now beyond my knowledge! Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

OK, I was using the default windows driver and while my connection is always to 2 bars, my connection has been constant and school drop-outs were not held. So far, it has been difficult to my problem as the ralink drivers seem to cause more problems than they fix. If my connection is still not great... it's there, and so far it works great. I'll check with this topic to see if I put a permanent end to my problem...

  • HP Probook s 4740 and reader of fingerprints and Ralink RT3290

Hi, I bought the 4740 s ProBook HP - a great computer, but in the specifications, I bought a network card installed 802.11b/g/n Wi - Fi Ralink RT3290 hopeless. I would like to replace it with the Intel WiFi card with support for the band band and 5 GHz bandwidth 300 MB / s I wasn't expecting that in a such high computer model can be so small WiFi card. Which Intel model I am looking for? I copied a large number of media files via WiFi and the above characteristics are essential for me. Goes the same for the fingerprint reader in old my ProBook 6550 b, accustomed to the use of this device, but the new computer did not - I would be purchased and installed on the computer (in the case is taken to the reader). Is someone can you please tell me the part number of the reader matches the 4740 s?

    Kind regards
    Robert

    Hello

#3 on the following manual page displays a list of supported cards:

    http://bizsupport2.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c03531708/c03531708.PDF

For the fingerprint, is there a small "windows" for the reader? Otherwise no point to install anything. A plugged in the card reader will have everything you need.

    Kind regards.

  • Unhappy with Ralink RT3290 h9 wifi - 1440t

I received my new PC of office h9 - 1440t yesterday... and I love... except for one thing.  I "upgraded" to the Ralink RT3290 wireless adapter, and it seems to get a bad reception.  My old HP laptop a lot better (5 bars) in the exact spot even on my desktop as RT3290 (3 bars).  Download / upload speeds are clearly and obviously more nits with the RT3290.

Question for HP - be remedy you this somehow?  I should get a good reception for the money paid for this system.

Edit - also - just checked using speedtest.net - download speed with the RT3290 is less than 10 Mbps.  My old HP laptop, at the same time, gets 23 Mbps.  Something is wrong.  It is a PC game and I need fast internet.

    Thanks for any help.

  • HP Envy 15 with Ralink RT3290 loses wireless n If windows updates 8

I have a HP Envy 15-j040eo that has worked well until about two weeks ago, but there is no longer recognized my wireless-n. At this time, I win 8.1 64 bit with automatic updates. Other computers and iPhones is always recognized my wifi.

After spending hours and days with the support of HP, we finally did a complete reset of the computer. Now I have Windows 8 with the works of disabled and wireless-n updates very well until I allow windows to date. If windows is allowed to update the computer does nor recognize the network. With other networks - n or with cable it works fine. The only way that the HP Support and I found get wifi work is to reset the computer. If I only update the wifi still doesn't work.

The wireless adapter is a Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn and it works with the driver 5.0.25.0 on windows 8. When I had first of all the question I tried to update driver V5.0.46.0 but he still has not found the wifi-n in windows 8.1.

BIOS is updated to the latest version and even if I turn auto updates of the network was cut when the upgrade of Windows 8 to 8.1 but on Windows 8 it works until I decide not to update the wireless adapter driver.

As I'd rather have 8.1 and updated windows up-to-date with automatic updates; How can I configure to always work with wireless-n?

I understand that you have problems with your card wireless after the upgrade to Windows 8.1. I'll be happy to help you with that. One of the things is recommended when upgrading is deleting or disabling all USB devices one thing that many people do not know is that the wireless card uses an internal USB connection. So, before you upgrade either your device manager under network adapters find Ralink RT3290 wireless adapter. Then right click and select Disable. With the wireless you will need to connect via Ethernet temporarily. Once the update is completed, activate the card and install this driver Ralink RT3290. Give that a try and let me know how it goes.

    Hello

Yes, I can confirm it for you. The same series Dv6, the same card with nVidia GT 650 M 2 GB and Intel 6235 works well. Intel 6300 Ultimate (installed the third antenna myself) and Intel 7260AC works very well also. All tested on the mobile signature.
