Pavilion 17F1023CL: lost my ethernet cable connection.

Have 2 pavilions and lost the ethernet connection, with cable, on one of them, yet have the wifi capability. When you attach the ethernet cable, the port light does not illuminate.

Currently using my second Pavilion, with the cable is connected, and the light on the port is light.

The problem would be with the connection/WiFi wireless card? This card Realtek manages cables and wireless?

Prefer to do my own repairs when possible, as labor costs are far too high for my budget.

Hey @dwflo,

Please use the forums.

Sounds to me like the port has been disconnected somehow, as it should be a combo wireless connection/WiFi card as you requested.  You can check to make sure that the port is still connected properly, however it is likely that it will need to be replaced.

See you soon,.

My desktop HPE H8 computer - 1280t lost Internet using USB3 and vice versa.  If I disconnect the external drives connected to the USB3 ports then I have Internet back.  If I connect external drives to USB3 ports, then I won't have Internet.

The computer in question is running on Windows OS 8.1 for several months and no other software added recently.

Problem has been resolved.  Because of several power is needed for 3.0 external drives to work, I replaced the power supply HP 400 watts with a power of 750 Watts.  Now, I have all external hard drives of 3.0 and Internet works perfectly.

  • How properly I fill my wifi to ethernet cable connected to my Xbox

OK, I have wireless internet in my house but I don't have the adapter wireless for the Xbox 360. I watched a lot of youtube videos on how to implement a bridge so I can get on the Xbox live using my laptop. Basically, what I do is go in the network and sharing Center, and then on the left side of the screen, I hit 'Manage network connections'.  I select the 'connection to the local network' (my ethernet cord that goes to my Xbox) and the "wireless network connection" and I right click and "bridge connections" it then creates the bridge. My Xbox is unfortunately still not able to connect the internet. When I type status it sews the 'connection to the Local network' is not receive data. Any help?

  • stretching from the internet connection via a wired ethernet cable

    Hello

First time poster. I have a netgear R8000 Nighthawk on my 2nd floor. I intend to use an ethernet cable connected to the R8000 and bring it downstairs in my living room. My question is, is - it possible to be able to connect the ethernet cable in the living room to another router and then connect up to 3 devices (apple computer, smart tv, tv) via ethernet cables? I prefer wired connections. I am aware that I can use as the EX7000 netgear router as access point, but other devices may only be connected wirelessly.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you very much!

  • Compaq 6910p - wireless adapter turns off when the ethernet cable is connected

    Hi all

Then, when I plug in an ethernet cable (connected to a router), my wireless adapter turns off.

He immediately turns on when I unplug the ethernet cable.

It isn't really a problem, either connection will provide my needs of networking, but it's just weird and I don't like it.

    Using Win7 Ultimate 64 bit.

    advice would be appreciated.

    Hello:

This is the default setting to save the battery.

If you always want the wireless on, go into BIOS > Menu of device Configuration and activation to deactivate WLAN-LAN.

  • Using an Airport Express to listen to music - ethernet cable or not?

My wife - who bought me an Airport Express 802.11n Wi - Fi for Christmas - was reassured in a certified store to which he would have a wireless connection to my existing wifi to stream spotify on my stereo, but I could not set up like that. According to Apple's Support, the Airport Express must be connected to a modem via an ethernet cable to work, which totally contradicts the advice she was given. This will not work for me - the stereo is in a completely different room for the modem.

    Who is right?

I can't find clear indications on the web.

    Thank you very much.

A "modem" , it's just that... a device that connects to the service of your Internet service provider to another router with a wireless Ethernet cable. "modem" does not any signal wireless... only an Ethernet signal.

A ' modem/router ' or the 'bridge' is a device that combines the functions of a modem and router wireless in one package. It provides a signal of wireless network for other wireless devices can connect to the Internet wirelessly.  The modem/router or gateway also provides several Ethernet ports... usually 3 or 4... for devices to connect in this way as an option.

An AirPort Express can only connect to a modem using a wired Ethernet cable connection.

An AirPort Express can connect to a modem/router or Gateway using either a wired Ethernet connection or a wireless connection.

    Who is right?

It all depends on if you have a modem... .or you have a modem/router, also called a gateway.

If you do not know what you... then post back with the number of brand and model of the device that you call your modem... and we will try to find what it is you have.

  • LAN is not recognizing my Ethernet cable

Hey everyone, I have problems with my Local network setting on my computer recognizing that there is an ethernet cable connected.

I run a Toshiba Satellite A210 with Windows Vista and a D-Link Wireless G router.  The router is not the issue, because I ran each diagnosis than i've got, and I have a tough line of work running on another computer.  The ethernet cable I use is too new out of the box.

When I plug my ethernet cable into the laptop, nothing lights up and it does not recognize it existing.  The pilot, he points to what is a Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller and not its own driver ethernet.  Is there a generic driver I can install that will recognize my ethernet port?  Help!

    Hello

The WiFi configuration runs on the router and the computer? Have you checked for a firmware
Update for the router? You have to check the router on other computers? Have you checked the
computer on all other routers? Tried another cable?

The material could be at fault. If nothing works, you can disable the NETWORK interface integrated into the BIOS
and/or the Manager of devices and use an out board NIC USB is not that expensive.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Try these methods:

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

  • Pavilion dv7 Notebook - how will I know if I'm connected with the Ethernet cable or wireless?

The notification area icon displays only a wireless connection, although the ethernet cable is connected to the laptop.  HP Connection Manager shows that both wired and wireless connections are active.  All of my previous laptop (not HP) had different icons for wireless to a wired connection in the notification area.  HP has a different icon for a wired connection?  If so, why it doesn't show in the notification area?

    obxperson99 wrote:

Enrico, thank you.  I have installed Win7 Pro.

The Network and Sharing Center says I'm connected wireless.

Program of HP's "Connection Manager" shows that both the wired (ethernet) and wireless networks are connected.

If I am always connected wirelessly with the ethernet cable plugged into my machine, how to move from the wired connection?

Open the network and sharing Center. Look at the picture of what I have posted. Do you see where it says log in or out? Select it, and then disconnect from the wireless network. If you are also connected to the wired connecttion, then the connection should be almost transparent.

I have a desktop HP Pavilion Slimline s5623w with Windows 7 64 - bit o/s.  This computer connects to the network via a Belkin 54g router that connected to the Internet by cable.  All of a sudden I can't access to the Internet (cable) and get a message that I need to connect the Ethernet cable.  The cable is connected and the LED will Flash next to the Jack at the back of the computer ethernet.  I even tried to connect directly to the reception by cable without success.  I have connected to my Belkin Wireless with a new cable, still nothing.

You can also check out the link below on the Site of Hp Support:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support-topics/network-Internet-support/cant-connect-Internet.html

Here are a few basic things that you should check if you get flashing link lights what activity see the:

1.) check that you have found an IP address after you have connected the ethernet cable:

(Enter the command line and run ipconfig)

2.) while in the command ping 127.0.0.1 loopback line

(This will verify that your card is able to communicate)

3.) check that the driver does not work correctly:
(Right click "Computer", click on manage and check on the network tab, if you see the driver Ethernet)

If the wireless connects successfully as directed by your computer to perform the following acts:

1.) Ping a site command line:

(Enter the command line and ping google.com)

If these steps are followed and you managed a communication & there is no problem of driver, that contacts your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and they will be able to provide support remotely.

I have a laptop with Win Vista (Hp Pavilion), and I always have to connect to my wireless router (Thomson). Until now, I had a problem, especially with the bad weather a few times and I thought is about the quality of line.

I almost every time to reset the router, to establish the wireless connection. No matter if the computer mac laptop is connected or not if a cable, I have no connection to the network, and I have reset the router. Subsequently, all right. Someone knows a possible reason?
