  I recommend you to try the following steps to check the USB ports. First of all I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling concentrators root USB from Device Manager. Please follow the steps below to reinstall the USB root hubs:

  I have a HP Pavilion dv3t - 2000, Windows Vista-based computer.

  Touchpad volume above, that the keyboard does not work properly (it there is no sound coming out of the speakers or the headphones), if you touch the part above the keyboard touchpad megaphone, then it remains red, but the sound icon on the taskbar change mute to reactivated when you touch the Red megaphone. The volume on the touchpad slider works amazingly.

  After buying my first HP PC 18 months ago the motherboard failed & rather than pay a ridiculous price to my PC local store (Curry / PC World) for the expelling, diagnosed & fixed, I decided to have a card mother ASROCK mounted to find the two ports on the front 3 USB front panel do not work.

  I have not bought a 'big name' PC brand for years & will never buy one again because of these problems of materials compactabilite & inaction of HP to solve my original problem on a PC for 18 months, because it was out of warranty of six months only.  500 books by windows!

  If it is any what review, the front USB ports may not work because of the way the USB connectors are molded together in their own country and may not match your card mother ASROCK.

  Maybe bought a third party USB connector that connects via the façade of a spare Bay 5.25 inches?

  Second Montor doesn't work-

  I bought my HP Pavilion in November 2014 with two 27xi of HP monitors.  One is plugged into my VGA, the other into my port DVI port.  Well worked, until today.  MY DVI monitor is black.  I swapped the VGA DVI on the back of the monitors.  The issue moved to the other monitor (DVI cable), I checked the Device Manager and 1 single monitor is showon.  I did the updates of the pilot, no help.  When the computer starts, the DVI monitor is a different color and shows no signal, so I suspect the computer.  Thanks for any help.
