Pavilion 500-160 ev: I've lost my windows key!

Hey guys,.
I had an accident with my pc so I changed my motherboard.
My pc is now turning and saying that the key is already in use. How to find my key?
Thanks in advance

It depends on the motherboard that has been used to replace the original.  In the order of things, Windows 8, the license key OEM is integrated in the BIOS, so assuming that the key is trying to activate with this new motherboard, that's why it won't work.  You are then left with a choice, either get a key retail for Windows 8.1 or use a different Windows.  You can load up to 10 Windows and then use it after the liberation.

More information needed to help - but no personal information such as your email address. Which is not allowed on the forums. Did you upgrade to windows 8? If so, the key will be in the electronic invoice that you received when you purchased the upgrade. Make copies and keep it somewhere safe. If your new computer came with win 8, you don't need a key. It is already integrated into the bios and your windows is activated at the factory.

  • HP Pavilion 500 PC series 327 - ng: installation of Windows 7?

Hello I need your help I really am at the end of my know-how and really desperate.

So I bought this PC today, I had nothing against Windows 8.1 in itself, but I wanted to use my internet and my (T-Online 6.0) software wouldn't work on Windows 8.

So I decided to install my Windows 7. Stupid as I was I of course removed the recovery partitions while I was installing.

As soon as I had installed W7 I noticed that my internet was not working, while a other hand worked in the internet on the laptop.

It turns out that some drivers were missing. So I had the drivers mentioned in this thread http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Desktop-PC-Questions/pavilion-500-ethernet-controller-driver/td-p...

After that, my internet worked at least partially. Partly that means my downloads kept in check different time periods. That includes downloading the latest driver from Nvidia, Adobe Flash and Windows updates. First of all, I thought it might have to do with the firewall, but the only active firewall was the Windows Firewall and disabling did not help much either.

It can, so I took Realtek driver Ethernet isn't the right one for me?

I'm back on my old PC now and everything works well, pourrais I switch my network of a PC card to the other, which would help?

Or I might have a virus? Cause I have several times had the configuration of message by-Side failed when starting a program, I had the same message on my laptop, where I have my drivers through the new PC.

I have never seen that message before and today several times... it always came when I wanted to start a Setup...

Also the internet sites charge even more slow than on my old PC (and I sometimes get messages: content encoding error) and the Flash does not work despite the installation.

I wonder why I was stupid enough to try and install Win 7 in a first time... I feel really bad now, because I don't know what do with my PC D:... done yelling at me...

It was the first thing I've ever bought with money I earned myself

I bet that there is no way to return to its original state, after I deleted the recovery partitions, right?

    You are the very welcome.

For the love of heaven, I don't even think to look on the page of the driver for your PC!

Those who will be fine, but you need the driver of this other model Atheros wireless card.

Specifications of product for your model page shows a picture of an Atheros wireless card, but there is no driver Atheros on your model support page.

I think that the Realtek ethernet driver you are interested in is this one... There are 3, and we can work better than the other 2.

  • 14 - r205nx: I lost my windows key

    Hello
My PC was with windows original 10.

I do format, after that I lost windows key.

I'm looking for my old key

    Bekwan

With the recent PC, the product key is embedded in the motherboard UEFI firmware and is not printed on a sticker on the PC.

HP keeps no record of individual product associated with individual computers keys, so they are unable to provide you with the key.

You must be able to boot in Windows or WinPE to run a utility to retrieve the key.

You must use this link to create an installation of Win10 media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

Then, starting in the media.  Once there, you should see if you can download and install this utility to retrieve the key: Showkey - Windows 10 Forums

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion 500-217

Quick question, the HP Pavilion 500-217 support an installation of Windows 7? Reason for this computer is for my elderly father died yesterday, and it's not worth repair. I want to get this computer for him but I know that he will never get Windows 8 (his computer had Vista). It will be just too much frustration.

Then... I want to buy a HP Pavilion 500-217, wipe the drive and install Windows 7 64 bit.  I notice that there are Windows 7 drivers for this model, but I have to make sure that Windows 7 can be installed on this system.  Thank you!

    Hello:

W7 should work well on this model.

There are 2 things you need to do first...

    1. your recovery media set.  See info below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

    2. you need to change 2 BIOS settings in order to install and continue to run W7.  See info below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03659945

None of the Intel drivers see you on the support page are applicable for this model.

    Hello

Problems with getting outside windows safe mode. BlueScreen message don't THREAD EXCEPTION HANDLED (atikmdag.sys) SYSTEM.

By restarting and pressing f5 and f8, trying to get a configuration with the mode menu without failure as a choice as well. I press the recovery of the system in the setup menu, then:

    -Troubleshooting

---> Advanced options I have no choice in the settings menu to start, then I go to

    -Command prompt

    His I type this information:

    bcdedit \set {default} safeboot network

The computer will not enter in safe mode! The message I get in command prompt after which type it is:

"Specifies the command line is not valid." "Run" bcdedit-? "using the command line.

I did, but I don't know what is my next move.

Can someone help me with my next move so I can't get into safe mode? Or is my only option to do a system restore and lost all my files?

Its your video driver ATI that is the cause, upgrade the driver to the latest version if you can never get started in windows.

Look under "Graphics-Drivers" and select "Driver AMD graphics card module" download and install.

  • Pavilion 500-336: updated drivers audio HP Pavilion 500-336

Here's the audio that I have on my computer: IDT 92HD65C

Looking at the Device Manager, I see that the driver date is 07/11/2013.  Where can I find the updated drivers for this?

The version of the driver I have right now is 6.10.6496.0

Is there still a good reason do not update the audio drivers?

    Hello:

    The audio works fine now?

If so, I would not update the driver.  Many problems with W10 and IDT audio.

There is an audio driver IDT W10 on your PC support page if the Beats Audio doesn't work properly or not at all.

  • HP Pavilion 500-297c: Boot failure now need to recoversystem

My Pavilion 500-297c will not start.   All initial tests HD pass ok.   I am running an extended test.   Resetting the system w/maintain files fails.

I guess even a hard disk failure.   I purchase and install a new HD.  The system came with Windows 8, which has since been upgraded to Windows 10.

So, I'm going to need some kind of bootable recovery disk HP.  No idea how to get a CD or bootable USB drive to restore the system to a bootable state?

Also, given that the current hard drive always seems to work at least in part, I hope to set it up as a second drive on the system once I get the new HD installed.  What is the best way to try that?

    > No idea how to get a CD or bootable USB drive to restore the system to a bootable state?

Because Windows 10 _was_ installed on your computer, a "fingerprint" of your computer is registered with Microsoft.

This 'fingerprint' allows you to download Windows 10, on any computer and create a bootable DVD that can be used on your computer, without having to enter a 25-character license key.

    Reference: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

There is no need to wait for HP to courier-ship anything for you.

Tip: buy a new disk drive and install, remove your current hard drive.

Install Windows 10 on the new drive and then attach the old drive as a "slave."

and copy all your files to it on the new drive.

  • Pavilion 500-056: accidentally disabled my speakers! sound/no

So here's the scoop. My computer (HP Pavilion 500-056) had been broken for a year now, and I finally fixed and reinstalled windows 10. Everything worked well and I was very happy until I realized that I had no sound coming out of my speakers. Through my process of DIY autour, check the cables and the entry and other output sockets, there seemed to be no problem. I went in the sound mixer, and there, I accidentally disabled my speakers, so they don't pop up on the list more! I have no idea how to turn them on now, and I still have no idea how fix my sound. If someone could help pronto, I would be very happy! Thank you!

    Hello

If they were just disabled, you can re-enable the as follows.

Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".

In the next window, right-click on an empty area and enter a checkmark against "Show disabled devices".

If your speakers are now listed, right-click them, then select activate.

    Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion 500-311no: the hp Pavilion 500-311no upgrade

Hp Pavilion 500-311no desktop PC, I bought a few years ago and now I feel like I would get some more power out of it then is it possible to upgrade this computer. I use mostly this pc for a game so what I'm looking to upgrade is the gpu. It seems that the motherboard supports the latest grphics cards and I think they should also fit the case. Incase of replacement parts, the power supply needs to be replaced probably as well. Also overclocking motherboard support and how the overclocking and replacement parts affect warranty?

    Greetings,

You have some positives on your side:

    PCIe available x 16 slot 3.0.

    UEFI BIOS.

Your chassis will limit the duration of the update of the graphics card.

You have only a 300 Watt power supply.

Most of the HP motherboards cannot be overclocked. I have a processor Intel 4820 K. HP offers limited overclocking abilities with this processor.

Check the measurements on the existing power supply.  A diet of 600 runs most new graphics cards high-end. NVIDIA cards tend to require less energy than equivalent AMD cards.

Check the height of the rear panel input/output where the x 16 slot is to determine the maximum length of a new card.

Shop for a new card graphics and power supply when you know your limits. The high-end cards are usually double slot. Make sure you have room to install a card double slot. You need to be able to burst a second plate of input/output rear panel to install a dual slot graphics card.

Modular power supplies reduce tangles of cables in the chassis.

    See you soon!

  • How can I replace a 5 in 1 memory card reader in a HP Pavilion 500-027c desktop PC

I bought a desktop PC computer given to nine HP Pavilion 500-027c Wal-Mart, 2 weeks ago... 5-in-1 memory card reader does not work... the Device Manager indicates that it works correctly, but when I put a memory card, nothing happens... The white light will come on indicating that the memory card has been inserted, but the computer does not recognize that something has been done... I would just replace the card reader itself... I see on the hp support where it is possible to replace the reader of card memory (before I/O), but I don't know where to buy the card reader itself real... I have an audio problem, then before moving to Windows 10 or the update of the anniversary of the audio working properly after the update I noticed immediately that the sound is distorted or "crunches".
I haven't identified the problem because it's random, very often and it's very annoying, my sound system is its IDT DTS + I tried to reinstall the drivers with the latest version but some of the problem persists...
Only, I noticed that the problem is more 'feel' when the bass setting is higher or when I change the audio setting to my taste.
I ask you to help also became very boring because without my custom settings is really horrible!
    Thank you.
Sorry for the English, but this isn't my mother tongue, I used google translator.

    Hi there @Alexcpp,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that, after the update of Windows 10 anniversary, you had some sound problems.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Check the support page for your model of HP Pavilion 500-215el desktop PC, there don't seem to be updated drivers, and you have already tried to reinstall existing ones.

You can always try to use the HP Support Assistant, HP PCs - using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) to see if there is a driver available that is not displayed on the support page. It is unlikely, but there is always a chance that the page has not yet updated.

Another possibility is to make some adjustments on your system, just in case there is another driver or software that interferes with the audio, which could cause problems of lag. You can try the search, even if these: computers HP - computer is slow (10 Windows), HP - slow Internet troubleshooting (10, 8 Windows) computers.  They are never a waste of time because often there is something that could help the overall performance of the system.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.
