Pavilion AiO 23-p114: Pavilion 23-p114 start out of the box

System-Pavilion 23-p114 All in One, AMD A8-6410 processor, Win 8.1, 8192 MB core, UEFI BIOS (80.01) 16/10/2014.

After unpacking and setting up, system went through his customary decompression of the 8.x Windows software. This step completed to the point of asking for user name, language, country, and time zone. Unfortunately, the keyboard and wireless mouse had apparently dead batteries that the mouse had the power, but the keyboard doesn't have.

We changed the wired keyboard/mouse and these devices were found and Setup continues. However; during the reboot step we never regained control of the system. IE, reboot, start LesBlue HP logo appeared (on black background) and we never went forward.

The button market / he stop and attempted to revive the process, no luck. We have allowed the system to stay in this State for more than 24 hours, still no luck. Again press the power button and then shutting off the power completely the system. In approxmatly 20 minutes we still once applied power, pressed the power button to get to the same place.  No beeps, no Flash, just a hint of HP hung.

We then consulted with the process HP support on a 23-p114 identical and followed by the restoration of the system through the power process and press F10 process.

This process hangs at the BIOS screen, inviting us to (ESC) to get the menus (F-Keys). Again, we off with the switch power, power up and press the F2 key to start diagnostic system tests and start the Quick Test of the system.

Everything except "System Board check"Device not found". Of note is that the main memory chip is in the Bay of '1', not '0' of the Bay, but we don't know if it's important.

Because this particular all-in-one is not very heavy, it will not be useful as a boat anchor, but maybe a weight of fish. However, we would like to use it as a business desktop processor.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. Another one on HP support, a set of HP Diagonistics and restore DVD were sent for me.

Following the exact instructions with the DVD we still could not retrieve system. We then followed the other included instructions and support.

After an hour and eight minutes of customer support guidelines, it has been determined that the DVD player was not given or some device controller within the 23 HP - p114 had failed.

Basically, the machine has a weight of sin.

However, CSR sent me a box of (FedEx) return to return the machine for HP, (all expenses paid by HP) due to the warranty coverage.

I couldn't ask for more! HP support has done everything possible to solve the problem. Regardless of the nature of the failure, HP Support WORKS!
I take it as a complete success.

We await the return of a refurb from the original machine and go on with life.

  • Where can I find the line start/run in the box start Windows

    I want to use the Msconfig function but cannot find the start/run line in which to enter.  When I hit the start icon (the microsoft logo), it is not clear.  I'm looking in the wrong place.  If this is the right place where it appears.  If this is not the right place to be looking, where should I look?

    1. you can use the search box instead of running it. It all works the same.

    2 in this case is to know how to restore/enable option run in the right side of the Start Menu:
    Right click on the Start button > properties > at the top, click on Start Menu tab > click Customize > scroll to find command run, put a checkmark in the box > OK

    You check Startmenu. Execution option should be there now.

    I am totally going to embarrass me with my lack of knowledge of actionscript... but I hope someone can point me at least in the right direction.

    Here's what I'm trying to do:

    I'm designing a flash site that has 5 buttons, each corresponding to a different company. When a button is pressed, this company's logo appears in the body of the site and a brief description of company. So far, it's all very easy I know. But here's where things get complicated (at least for me):

    I implemented the motion tweens (25 to be exact) so that every logo can 'interpolation' in any of the other logos. The goal is to have it so that when you click on one of the buttons of the company, the logo will shape tween of the current logo displayed the logo of the company button you clicked. Make sense? I hope so.

    When a key is pressed, the script needs know basically what logo is displayed, so that he may know what shape tween movieclip to play.

    I put up all the tweens on the timeline with image tags: logo1ToLogo2, Logo1ToLogo3 and so on. And then Logo2ToLogo1, Logo2ToLogo3 and so on...

    Can someone help me get started? It would be very appreciated!

    First, one thing, you'll probably want to do is to create a function that will disable/enable your buttons, so that you can prevent anyone from use during a transition period.

    Interpolation selection from which to choose, you will need to create a variable to keep track of who is currently displayed logo.  The value that the shims variables will be a string that identifies the logo... 'Logo1', "Logo2", etc Let's say you name this variable 'currentLogo '.

    When you click a button, the button code will use a gotoAndPlay call that incorporates the variable currentLogo with the logo associated with the button...

    gotoAndPlay(currentLogo+"ToLogo#");

    where you put the number of the planned logo instead of #.  Following this line that you want to assign the new value followed currentLogo of a call to the deactivation of the buttons function.  The activation of the buttons call can be made at the end of each of your pre-teen.

    Try this:
    Switch on and press F8.
    Select repair my computer then HARD drive recovery.
    Drive recovery HARD should restart and you should be able to reinstall the OS.

    Any new system.  All the network settings on the PC and the router are "out of the box '.  The system will not connect to 1000 Mb (Gigabit), even if the other 2 on the same router (1 XP, Linux 1) connect without any problems.  Swapped cable and ports without difference,

    And before anyone asks, it that a Realteck Gigabit Ethernet chip on the motherboard.

    Tech came out at 08:00 as expected.  Replaced motherboard.  We have video, we have Gigabit Ethernet.

    HP should really look at this whole incident.  In addition to taking almost 4 weeks to fix the problem and let the client without computer running for more than 10 days, this event has cost thousands of dollars support HP.

    Process of elimination said that it was a hardware problem. IMHO, this kind of problem should have been taken before his departure from the factory (certainly not a HP has / operates the plant).

    If HP has spend this amount of resources to solve this kind of problem, it is not surprising that they want to get out of the PC business.

    You can try to uninstall entries of Google chrome under programs and features and check if it appears in the start option of Internet link menu.

  • In the start-up procedure, how can I remove "press ESC to access the Start Menu" when the machine hangs at the HP logo screen?

    I am running 64 Win7HP on a laptop HP dv3, processor Core 2 Duo 4 GB DDR2 Ram, 320 GB HD, just as it came out of the box when purchased directly from HP replaced EXCEPT Vista OS with 64bits Win7HP.  Machine worked fine until the LAST update of Windows, where during the reboot, I got to the HP logo screen and in the lower left corner of the screen appeared the statement (for THE FIRST TIME) "Press ESC for the Start Menu."  Pressing Esc translates into another command "press Esc...".  Break. " When you press ESC, you get a black screen until the machine goes to sleep UNLESS you press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. If you press the 3 key combo, it will continue to start and brings you to the screen of your password for access and then operate nicely, until you turn off the system. So, how can I get rid of the superfluous instructions and get this thing here where he turns and goes directly to the screen of password without intermediate steps?  Restore points are long since gone for immediate access to the front last Win Update.
    The answer may be simple, but until now it has escaped my low range.  Any help is appreciated.

    I remove the hard drive and attach it to your desktop and use the host operating system to run a check disk on your drive.  The laptop goes hard disk looking for instructions to start and he does not see the correct code.  This is probably due to a damaged boot sector.  Another idea is that your bios has changed and you have changed the SATA from AHCI to IDE type somehow or vice versa. You also left a non bootable disk in the DVD/CD drive.  Remove all disks from your DVD.

    After the upgrade to windows 10, "sleep" mode did not work, however a windows update corrects this problem. The only problem I have seen today is that when I stopped my laptop the power button stays on your battery and I have to manually turn off (by pressing for 5 seconds).  What I do is turn on the computer again and stop it again, and then it turns off completely.     1. Download version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.

    2. Download the Package of troubleshooting Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
    3. Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
      • In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
      • Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
      • Click on stop to stop the service to run.
      • Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
    4. Install version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  If you receive a warning dialog box about the replacement of a newer version of the software, accept it.
      • NOTE: You have NO need to uninstall version 11 before installing version 9 or 10.  The presence of a version of the driver is required to 'upgrade' (or demote in this case).
    5. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for version 11 of the pilot).
    6. Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
    7. Restart your computer.
    8. Rejoice!  You can finally sleep and stop again.

    I have two devices paired bluetooth connected to my computer laptop, but audio still plays through the built-in speakers of Realtek.

    The device is introduced, my laptop confirms its she paired up and I do not see in the circles where I'm wrong.

    I understand your message that your Pavilion laptop - 17-g012na will only play audio through the built-in speakers and not the Bluetooth devices are paired.

    These speakers have worked in the past with this laptop? Have you verified that your system is up-to-date available throughout drivers and software?

    Microsoft has a background paper on connecting devices Bluetooth here and also a document of difficulty connections Bluetooth.

    I know from personal experience that some Bluetooth speakers and other devices, even when it is associated with, should click you on them to connect before it will actually start communicating with the PC.
