Pavilion DM1-4000sd keyboard and touchpad not working not

Hello

I'm back from holiday yesterday and when I tried to power on my laptop that he had to go through the windows recovery. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but it seems the keyboard and touchpad are not working in windows or recovery recovery screens / normal boot selection screen. Also I can not access my bios (not), so this is most likely related to the same problem.

The laptop was working fine before and I've never had any keyboard / touchpad editions.

What can I do to fix this?

Problem solved, plugged a mouse usb and it worked in the recovery menu. Still confused but on how I'll never get into the bios...

    Hello

You have installed all the drivers for your laptop? I mean especially the chipset driver.
    Check this box!

If you have yellow exclamation points in Device Manager, you must install all the missing drivers.

Last but not least don't forget to install all Windows 7 updates available that you can get thorugh Windows Update.

I have problem with keyboard and touchpad. Laptop satellite A300 - 1 5

I have Vista home premium and when I turn on the computer, I put password in the user box then my keyboard and the touchpad do not work.

In the Bios my keyboard work but when Vista starts it doesn't have.

    How to solve this problem?

    Thank you!

    Hello

First of all, please check the status of the device in Device Manager.
Please check if the keyboard and touchpad are listed correctly without any yellow exclamation point.

But you should try to reinstall the drivers again, even if the keyboard and the touchpad have been recognized correctly.
In this case I recommend to remove the keyboard and the touchpad Device Manager, and then you must restart the computer once more.

After Vista has restarted the two devices should be recognized again and should work.

  • keyboard and touchpad not working not

    Hello

I hava a HP pavilion touchsmart sleekbook 14-b133tx laptop running windows 8 and is still under warranty because of a defective touchscreen. A few days ago my touchpad does not work correctly. When I tap the touchpad, it's a richt click and when I move my finger to resize my icons.  I look at device manager it says that the device is functioning properly. The touchpad works normally after starting but stops after a few minutes with the keyboard (I use the touch screen as I type this). When I go into the settings of the mouse there is an error "Unable to connect to the synaptics pointing device driver" it prompted me to uninstall so I did it, but the driver will not uninstall. I tried uninstalling the Device Manager, and then restarted my pc then reinstalled again, but the problem is still present. Now the touchpad is not at all clear and the keyboard stops a few minutes to hours after that connecting windows ang attaches when I restart my pc but stops working again after some time. In the Device Manager it is now an error in the touchpad "this device is not present, is not working properly or is not all its drivers installed." (Code 24) ». I've done a hard reset, the sfc/scannow, a system restore and I've used the system recovery to return to factory settings but the touchpad still does not work (again, code error 24) and the keyboard has still not responding after a few minutes.

I think that there is a problem of material and planning to bring it to where I bought it to control unless there is someone who knows how to fix this problem...

    Help, please... Thank you

    Hey @NoGameNoLife ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I took a quick glance through your previous thread and it's not really a hardware problem.

Reinstalling Windows pretty much confirms this, but you can also test the keyboard in the BIOS or the mouse in the UEFI tools (press F2 at startup).

I suggest you contact HP phone support to implement the service. Many points of sale will send the laptop HP to be repaired and not their in-store service. Only, this prolongs the process for you and will be probably faster if you contact HP directly.

Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click on the following link to get help from your region number: phone help around the world.

  • HP 14-b011tx keyboard and touchpad not working not

    Hello

I have windows 7 installed. Then I installed windows 8.1 and then keyboard stopped working as he was installing. I noticed when you enter the name of the PC Setup. Then, after completing the installation, I installed the drivers for the touchpad, and after the reboot, it is also stopped working.

    Concerning

    Hello toka.

I understand that you were installing Windows 8.1 your keyboard and the touchpad no longer works. As you have installed the drivers, and I guess it worked until you restarted, in which case he has stopped working once more. I would recommend that you download and install the latest version of the HP Support Assistant. This solfware is designed to make sure you have the drivers for your system. He finds them and installs them for you.

I think that this will solve your problem of driver and allow you to enjoy your system once again. Thanks for posting this topic on the Forums of HP. Have a great day!

  • Satellite 5200 802: keyboard and touchpad not working

    Hello world.

I was hoping that someone could help me with a problem I have with my 5200-802 Satellite. The keyboard not work DVRs, although it shows in Device Manager and report it as works fine. I updated the BIOS and tried a bunch other things basic suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It may be useful to mention that I also can't my touchpad driver to register.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Do you have an error message, or have you signs of bed on the screen?
You can use the keyboard to access the BIOS?
If yes then the keyboard has been recognized and works!

If you can not use the keyboard running OS then I recommend to remove the keyboard device in Device Manager and restart the laptop.
The keyboard should be recognized again after new OS reboot.

But I think that you will not be able to access the BIOS.
Due to the fact that the touchpad works too, I imagine that the hardware is defective or there is no connection with the motherboard. Maybe a lose cable

Maybe you should check this. But note; If you have no experience with laptop technicians. Good bye

  • T410 and T420 keyboard and touchpad not working is not windows 7

    Hi guys,.

hope you can help me with this. I have a really strange behavior, I have to say...

I received a T410 and worked two days on this subject. A desk, I moved to another location and worked for a few hours. After lunch, I started again the machine, but the touchpad or the keyboard does not work. If I connect a pointer through the USB port on the computer, the pointer is working, keyboard unfortunately not.

Ok. Installed new Admins. I worked one day, the next morning, same problem. Well, back to the admins, reinstalling. Once again, for two days, I was able to work without any problems. So as it happened the third time admins decided to provide me with a new hardware: I received a T420. I worked with this week without any error.

At Christmas, I took the mobile home. I had worked with him for an hour. I used a pointer USB bluetooth wireless. No problems so far.

I went to the office this morning a guess what? Same problem with regard to the T410: startup of Windows but the touchpad and kayboard does any work!

What I don't have? In my opinion nothing special:

    (1) to start the machine

    (2) pointer added

    (3) connected via WIFI network at home (Home-network application settings)

    (4) packed the laptop in my suitcase and fled.

    (5) back in the office connected to the network via LAN, connected via VGA for monitor, usb keyboard, added pointer.

What this may be? I want to say that I am able to destroy for different machines! Only town is Windows 7 and T4xx series...

    Any idea?

    Yes! Found round!

The problem is that I changed my mouse setting in Control Panel. I received a message asking me about uninstalling the driver for the touchpad. I clicked on "Yes" and restard after he is blocked.

A friend had the same problem he's changed the setting from the touchpad.

I reinstalled the driver, now I only get the message more and I can change my settings. After restarting doesn't always work.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - keyboard and touchpad are not working

    Satellite C660 - 28H

    Win7 64 bit

Kaskpersky antivirus deleted the file 'system32/driver/cekbfilter.sys' for reason of keylogger (Kaspersky Support says error of file anti-virus, Kaspersky is not virus or virused), and after I restarted OS I find keyboard and touchpad not working do not at all.

Also I already asked to [US Toshiba Forum | http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Keyboards-Touchpads/satellite-c660-cekbfilter-sys-deleted-and-no-keyboard/td-p/364673] and he has been Advisor to ask here also

I can't use Windows recovery (have no recovery point) and I don't want full recovery of factory default - there are many flexible and personal data stored.

So here how to get the drivers? As I have already said to US Toshiba Forum - I already tried to delete the driver of pad touch and installation of synaptic official site and I haven't changed anything.

I also think that antivirus can remove not only the file, but some patches to remove the pilot "wrone.

Eh, it's very stupid situation now. I never had such problems, but it will be interesting to find solution to this.

Have you tried to connect a mouse outside, just to see if this can work? I want to say that it is much easier to use Windows with the mouse and choose different options.

If it works, try to open the Device Manager and properties for the keyboard. You will find the option to update the driver. Check if you can find some update driver. The keyboard uses the standard Microsoft so f driver, you may be in line that some drivers are.

Of course the best solution and easiest for you is recovery facility. If you don t want to do this try to find right drivers using this driver update option.

One last thing: If you have a lot if important saved on the HARD disk you can remove your laptop and plug it into the other PC / laptop as external device and make a backup. After doing this you can install the recovery image and the problem is solved.

  • Keyboard and touchpad do not work on Satellite C870-13F

I have a computer satellite C870-13th since August.

Yesterday for no apparent reason, my touchpad has stopped working. (no, I didn't turn off)
Not really bothered by it, I continued working on my computer for several hours.
Find it me so that he might be a little bug, so I decided to restart my computer.

When we turn back, not only my touchpad does not work, now nothing on my keyboard responded, not a single touch. I've updated the drivers, bios, done a virus scan, restored my computer for a few days before, nothing is.

The strange thing is that the keyboard is always when I press F1 or F8, 0, enter, and arrow keys to get into the menus before windows starts.

Help them, I used the toshiba recovery to restore the computer to factory settings.
Despite all this, keyboard and touchpad are still pending.
I don't really understand, because it works at startup may not be real materialistic damage!

Now, I'm getting frustrated cause I have more solutions and tapping the screen with the keyboard is really slow! = p

    Any help?

    Hello

I think that it s a bad material work because you have already tried the system recovery and the keyboard does not work even if you use the factory settings.

But it would be interesting to know if the USB external keyboard would serve. You can test this? In my opinion if the external keyboard would work properly, then it would mean that your keyboard is faulty and must be replaced.
I m wondering if the fault of the touchpad is related to failure of internal keyboard.

However, I think that the guarantee must still be valid if you bought this unit in August. Then get in touch with service and guys should fix it for free!
