Pavilion dm1z-4200: Pavilion dm1z-4200 multiple problems

My laptop, model mentioned above, is about 4 years old and the display of several annoying habits or problems of age at least.

First, he takes a loonngg to exit the mode time "sleep" despite the repeated keyboard taps, clicks of mouse and touchpad taps and clicks. Often, it seems as if it won't always come back.

Often, when you enter a string to search for letters in the search box, typing significantly lags behind the keyboard.

IE, the latest version upgrade, also loads slowly, with the bar usually showing multilpe menu items / options bars before the diappear. It is an annoyance, but I am concerned about other issues.

The battery is pretty well worn, so I have to use the laptop plugged in if I use it for more than twenty minutes, FYI.

Please note that a few months ago, a glass of water was spilled on the keyboard. I quickly unplugged the laptop and out the battery, then used a hair dryer it dry. I do not have restarting the laptop for a few days to make sure it was dry, and when I finally turn it on, it came back to life.

To try to see what can be slow laptop ith, I deleted some programs, noting that there are literally two dozen HP sponsored programs, ranging from the diagonstic tools Drive keeps and feel Cool. Who is needed, what installation can I get rid of it?

I cleaned the programs loading at startup. I used CC cleaner to clean the boot and the registry.  I used Malware Bytes to check the bad things. Make sure that the MS updates are common, as well as those for the bios and drivers. (Updates of player for the integrated graphics subsystem and the sound are hard to find probably the age / quality of the system.)

So the question: are these normal symptoms for a laptop in four years?

Can I use the HP program installed on tp restore laptop to factory setting, I, e., restore it in a pristine state?

Are there other measures available before doing this drastic step?

I appreciate any useful input. Thanks Barsac

  • HP Pavilion m4-1001TX: startup problems

Hello! My laptop is a HP Pavilion m4-1001TX. Recently, I updated my Windows laptop, 10 OS. Subsequently, I met problems white screen, which was resolved by resets hard (as suggested by various forums).

A week ago, I met the same problem. However, I tried the suggestions (from hard reset, external LCD screen, BIOS recovery, for re-allocation of places the memory module). Whenever I start it, I can hear the hum of the fan 3 seconds, but then everything is silent. The power button and LED f12 button is down as well.

    Once again, Hello.

So my laptop will not initialize correctly for about a month and a half, which led me to use my tablet.

Anyway, it took me a long time before deciding to disassemble my laptop. Because ultimately, I could so he had repaired, I tried to check his parts. Verification of entrails, the fan is full of dust.

After cleaning, the laptop worked properly. (FINALLY.)

so for you guys, try troubleshooting step by step made by HP. However, if these things didn't work and your laptop is probably a year or two and you haven't cleaned his fan, you might as try though clean it by compressed air or disassembled.

Disassembly, check the code of product in your laptop and search for it on HP Media tab. The research would generate some links, one of them showing a manual on how to disassemble the laptop properly. Follow these steps carefully.

I hope this post helps you on about the start-up problems.

NOTE: Disassembly for me is my last choice, so DO NOT REMOVE IT unless YOU REALLY NEED TO DO IT.

  • HP Pavilion series g hanging problems.

Hi, my name is Thomas Yeo, staying in Malaysia. I am a student. I have a computer in the Pavilion g4 series. Is the product name and number is HP Pavilion g4-1024tx. It uses a Windows 7 system. It is still under warranty. This computer is still facing problems such as crashes. Also, my computer overheating when I'm watching a video on Youtube. When I'm far away form the computer, I have the AC fan, this is because the computer is overheating very quickly. What to do when we face these problems?

  • HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n problem

So I had this problem which started today.

When I booted my PC: HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n - it goes to the startup screen with the HP logo but it remains just there frozen.

Another thing I have noticed is my mouse and keyboard are not powered at all even though they are correctly connected to their respective ports.

I don't know why he acts up like this now. I tried to connect the mouse to another PC and it worked, so there must be something wrong with the HP Pavilion itself.

Wouldn't be the motherboard or some circuit?

Other things to note that I got this PC reformatted all for more than a year with an installation of XP (as he came originally with XP).

Restarted the PC and still has the same issues. CD Player opens, the PC itself is powered and the screen is frozen on the blue screen HP startup. (Shows the menu and controls everything, but can not yet exploited cause there is not going to the keyboard.)

It is possible that a RAM module is either lost contact with the slot, or is defective. Can help with reintegration.

    (1) note what slots are occupied. Remove all the RAM of motherboard. Here's the tech manual. Put 1 module in the slot located near the CPU. According to the chassis, it could have a radiator/fan together.

    (2) unit to retest. Repeat with additional modules.

    (3) any module that tests OK can be reinstalled in appropriate accommodation.

  • Pavilion 15-p050sm driver problem

I bought a HP Pavilion 15-p050sm. Windows 8.1 with all updates installed. Installed all the drivers from the HP website (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=7265...

But in the Device Manager still missing something...

Can someone tell me what is this unknown device?

Well I fixed it, but there was a bug in the installer 3D player (probably).

    The problem:

During the installation of the player 3D Guard (which has been linked in the previous post), he has not installed the accelerometer sensor driver, so it didn't work.

    The work around:

    1. Unzip the installation file.
    2. Find the folder Windows 8.1 where the driver inf files. Install manually from the Device Manager.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. The accelerometer sensor is now working. Cool.
    5. Reinstall the drive guard software 3D.
    6. Restart the computer.
    7. This medication is COOL!

  • HP Pavilion 500-314: big problems by adding an external video card

    You are looking for assistance.

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 500-314.  Specifications are the following:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04293928

The unit includes the integrated graphics card Radeon R7 and comes with a 300w power supply

I bought this unit in large part because it states explicitly that "supports PCI Express x 16 graphics cards".  I run a quad-monitor configuration for my work and traditionally did it this using a card ATI over-pants 2450.

I tried now three different external graphics cards and can get any of them to work:

First attempt was with a VisionTec Radeon HD 5570 (point #900345).  This card supports quad-monitor configuration and requires a minimum power of 250w.  When I installed the card, the HP Pavilion beeps several times a series of 4 or 5 (can't remember which) emits a beep, but refused to send an image to a video output (either on board or the new card).

Next attempt was with an EVGA GeForce GT 610.  It's a Setup dual monitor and requires a minimum 300w power supply.  Got the same exact response as with the VisionTec (i.e. the series of beeps... computer would not start all monitors).

So both of these cards (new), I basically gave up immediately that I couldn't in the BIOS (b/c wouldn't monitors) to see what was going on.  My understanding is that the series of 4-5 beeps usually means that there is a problem of graphics card, or the card that was added doesn't have enough power.  It's frustrating, because the HP Pavilion 500-314 a supposedly a 300w power supply, which is at least equal to the minimum required for each of these cards.

At this point, I took out the ATI over-pants 2450 my old machine and tried.  This card at least has not caused the series of 4-5 beeps.  Windows has started.  However, once I log in, Windows tries to install the new (card over-pants) repeatedly, only then, the screen flashes and blinks and flashes.  Then I went into the BIOS.  The BIOS indicates that the system recognizes the card, and that the integrated video has been disabled.  However, there is always a signal coming out of the onboard video output (DVI), so it is not in fact actually disabled.  My feeling is that Windows is trying to control two separate video cards (edge + external), which is what causes the problems.  I can turn off the graphics card over-pants w/under Windows (in Safe Mode) and let the card installed, and things work fine.  However, as soon as I try and activate the card, I get endless cycle flashing monitors.

I spent a few long sessions with HP technical support and they were useless.  They claim that this is not a problem of HP as the embedded video works fine.  I find this extremely frustrating response.  I think it is a matter of HP, because BIOS doesn't seem to be properly disable the onboard video.  Not to mention that the PC can't seem to properly interface with Windows compatible 8 PCI-E cards that claim explicitly require less energy than this unit has.

I'm usually pretty computer savvy, but have reached my wits end on this one.  I'd appreciate any help anyone could provide.  I tried all kinds of combinations of variables (i.e. enabling integrated video, setting external card at the elementary level, etc.) through the BIOS, but also combinations of w/under Windows, disable integrated video, but nothing is working.

    900345 VisionTek Radeon HD 5570 1 GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x 16

    Big_Dave,

Thanks a lot for your quick response.

The first time that I spoke with HP support, they had me disable secure boot.  Unfortunately my problems (i.e. the cards would not install correctly).  However, after reading the link you provided that I was inspired to try things one last time with a new beginning.  I uninstalled all drivers, removed all cards, re-engaged start-up secured, restarted, close, disabled secure boot, reinstalled the cards and rebooted.  And, this time, the system accepts the card GeForce GT 610.

Difficult for me to express how grateful I am to you.  I spent two weeks and countless hours trying to get this corrected.  Just I found these forums earlier wish.

    Hello, guys!

I uninstalled windows 8.1 my 17-f159nr flag and installed Windows 7 64-bit DVD (very old dvd =)).

And know that I can not connect to Wi - Fi... I have the problem with the drivers. Windows tells me it can't find the network adapter driver.

I tried driver install Broadcom BCM43142 Wireless LAN Driver (802.11b/g/n) (driver is written to the page of the drivers for my laptop, but it didn't work!

On the windows control panel I can only see this icon with monitor and Red Cross =)

I want you, guys, for helping me find the right driver and correct action sequence to install the drivers for that wireless things work.

I see "Network controller" in Device Manager under "Other devices" tab So in tab 'about', I can see its id value:
    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & SUBSYS_2230103C & REV_01

PS: Also a link for the other device drivers for this laptop (bluetooth, usb3.0), but for win 7, will be really helpful =)

    Thank you!

    Hello:

Yes, you need drivers wireless and bluetooth Broadcom for this ID:

This package contains the Broadcom Wireless LAN driver that is required to activate the LAN adapter wireless Broadcom integrated in the laptop models running a supported operating system. This package also contains the Broadcom Wireless Utility application.

    File name: sp69014.exe

This package contains the Broadcom bluetooth driver and software for the supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 driver is required to activate the bluetooth 4.0 Broadcom devices and is compatible with Broadcom bluetooth 3.0 and earlier versions.

    File name: sp66402.exe

You should be able to use the rest of the W7 x 64 drivers and the software (except the BIOS and firmware files) of this model...
