Pavilion dm4-1075br: Test Battery ID failure

Hello

I ran Test Battery HP (F2 at startup) and its results were: "A primary FAILURE -" and as ID of failure: "GG6FK1-000814-FEGH4J-C0E703.

Does that mean exactly?

Thank you.

Hello

Id failure indicates that your battery main books begins to fail (usually, this is due to the amount of charge it can hold now compared to the ability of origin) and must be replaced.

Kind regards

  • Adapter HP Pavilion dm4 battery/ac question

I have a HP Pavilion dm4-3050 for about a year and a half now and lately, he keeps under its own stop without advising me how the battery percentage because normally, it tells me to plug it in when he reached 12%. Yesterday, I left him there, and it wouldn't turn on so I think it's batteries, so I plugged it and the battery light usually turns orange when he is in charge, but this time, it's white, saying: it is fully charged when it is 8% and it says plugged in, does not support. I did a race on the battery and it checks good. The laptop says that it is the main source is the AC adapter and not the battery. As soon as I unplug the power adapter, my laptop stops immediately. It works without the battery, but with the power adapter is plugged in. I don't know what's the problem with him.

If it works fine without the battery just to power supply and the battery will not charge and it cuts when the AC adapter is removed, I have to suspect that the battery is bad although the battery test results.

  • HP Pavilion dm4-3005 serious bug BIOS/drivers - ACPI.sys blocks constantly DPC to 3 milliseconds

Some of our users reported problems with the HP Pavilion dm4, Intel i5, portable audio beats, so we bought such a system for the test, a HP Pavilion dm4-3005. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

The questions were dropouts sound while using the software and USB audio interfaces that we do.

Now, we have confirmed the questions and analyzed the cause behind it.

The computer suffers from a DPC latency bottleneck, that fires continually in the OS ACPI.sys driver.

("CPD" is a regular work of pilots (Deferred Procedure Call).)

Each DPC planned by each driver must always end quickly (less than 100 microseconds), or it causes a bug which acts as a bottleneck. When a long DPC runs in a driver, all other drivers are often necessarily suspended, for example, on a machine that behaves in the way reported, Windows can not reliable service all the drivers that need to run more often than once every 3-4 milliseconds.

Low latency is necessary for all reception record, DAW, music app, software synth, as well as pro audio interface hardware drivers.

Because of the congestion, they all suffer from heavy sound artifacts more use cases / underallocations for the pilot of the audio interface. This includes our products but also in any other software low latency and USB audio interfaces.

HP Pavilion dm4-3005 has in this way from the factory, and no matter what drivers are disabled or set to date.
I ran all the critical updates for installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I downloaded and installed all the updates driver from HP support.

Finally, I also downloaded the BIOS update that available to HP support.

I also followed several guides to address these issues, including advice prevailing to disable the driver "ACPI Compliant control method battery" in Device Manager (Edit: filled in the name of the pilot.)

    Does not the initial problem.

I guess it's a bug in the BIOS - which has yet to be resolved by HP or their partner of BIOS for this product.

I have the computer factory reset and ready for testing your solution, when it will be available.

As it is now, we must warn our users of these systems because of their unusable latency.

HP is aware of this problem?

    Hello world

I have good news for you, dm4-30xx users!

The new BIOS is completed and will be published shortly by HP (need to package configuration file and write the documentation now...). The update of the BIOS version will be the F.0B.

However, I have access to the "raw" version of this new BIOS. I can send it to you if you ask me, but in this case, you will assume any bad use of this file. In this case, please send me your mail by MP.

The official release will not take much time, so I think it's best that you wait.

    Best regards!

I understand that your 500 GB HARD disk is full and you want to install a larger drive and more ram.  Here is a link to HP Pavilion dm4 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service of Guide. Please note Chapter 3, page 24, section 15 modules of memory and point 18 drives for replacements recommended for your system. Please be aware that the maximum memory is 8 GB. (found in Chapter 1, page 2, memory). As a 2 TB drive has not been tested in this model, the result is unknown.  This does not mean that it will not work, only that it is not a walk recommended and not supported by HP.

    Hi @orangeg66,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dm4 Notebook and P2PP Burnboot could not install. I have seen that date back to 2012 first of all, and then by a default BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop. Restore factory default BIOS works on it.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Pavilion dm4-3090se: how to use the SSD after restoration of the system of Windows backup disks?

    Hello

After a lot of work, I finally could restore my OS using Windows backup disks that I created a few years back. (The OS has been corrupted when the power has been accidentally deleted from the system and the battery was dead)

Restoring backup widows put everything on 444 GB C drive.  Nothing I put on the SSD drive d:-20 GB and there is nothing in the tools of HP E: drive - 4 GB

How can I make use of the SSD drive to help speed up the system?  I see the system starts and runs more slowly now.  I'm ready to blow the current operating system and re-run the Windows backup utility.  But I need to know how to use the SSD during the restoration.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hey @llebrez,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! This is a great place to find solutions and help our community!

I understand that you have some information about using the SSD in your HP Pavilion dm4 Beats Edition Entertainment Notebook. I'd be happy to help you with that.

The SSD in your laptop is used for a technology called Intel Smart Response. Intel Smart Response uses the SSD as a type of Cache smart to help load the items faster. The reason why that is not used currently is because the restoration of the system is not designed to use the SSD for intelligent caching and is not able to establish that on its own.

If you want to configure Intelligent caching on your laptop, you can follow this guide provided by overclock.net: how: implement the Intel Smart Response Technology (SSD caching)

I hope this helps. If you have more questions that I'm able to answer for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Please hold me.

    See you soon.

    STOP: 0X0000007E

If I replace memory corsair with the memory that has been delivered with the laptop the system only works very well.

Corsair memory is not compatible with the system?

I have a dual boot and installed ubuntu on this subject. Ubuntu loads perfectly fine, but after a while the system restarts automatically (IE open application).

I tried memorytest86 to test the memory, but the application continue to crash and reboot and does not provide any results.

    Help, please.

The RAM is not compatible. The system allows a maximum total memory of 8 GB and uses DDR3-1333 which downclocks at 1066 speed. You cannot use a single module of 8 GB. 4 gigs is the large single module supports the system. I suspect the memory that you have will work fine if you had modules of 2 x 4 GB instead of a single module of 8 GB. That's why memtest is not finished. The controller memory motherboard is not able to take up 8 GB of RAM by a single channel.

  • Mousepad does not not Pavilion dm4

Last night I woke up my computer to see that my mousepad not working. I thought it was some glitch like many others I've already found on this laptop (keys sound did not work properly, led light silent, not wanting to come away, etc.) And hope to restart and to solve the problem. Today, after the reboot, my mouse pad still does not work and I, apparently, am not the only one with this problem.

    My specs:

    HP Pavilion dm4-2070us

    Windows 7 Home Prem OA

I tried updating the driver (he says that the version that was linked to the exact identical on my hard drive) and I also tried the update of the BIOS with the same result. The mouse pad IS NOT off. If it's light is no longer on this subject as well and it is stuck in stop mode. The mouse pad does not appear in the Control Panel, no matter what I do.

I'm tired of all the problems that I've had so far on this laptop because I got it since mid-August. My friend told me that HP has been much better than Dell, so I went with it instead that little birdie told me. I was bragging to everyone how wonderful this computer was, but now I feel like I should go back and apologize to all my friends. Please say it is an easy fix and I forget something quite obvious. I wouldn't turn my back on HP for a computer laptop stupid.

Currently, I solved the problem. If anyone has a similar problem to mine, before sending it in, maybe you can try what I did. Last night I let my computer choke completely then took out the battery for a few seconds. After that, I plugged and let it load a bit (maybe 30 minutes?) before trying to start it and try again the mouse pad. It works fine now, the zoom in/out and Ahmed seem to even work a bit better now.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your concern for the Forums for Support and sorry about the problem you are having. To help you the best I would need the failure error code. I will quote the steps to get the code of failure below.

    • Go to the Control Panel
    • Make sure that in the upper right corner of the ' view by ' is selected for both small or large icons instead of the category.
    • Go to "Windows update".
    • You will find on the left in the list 'view update history'.
    • In the list, the status of the various updates would b mentioned in the second column.
    • There will be updates failed, you need to right-click on it and click 'see details'.
    • On the next window, there will be "Error Details" section with code 8xxxxxxxx.

These are the codes that are required. Please write us back with these codes. And also for resolved errors you can try to install the updates individually.

    • You have to go back to the control panel > windows updates.
    • In the list on the left choose "check for updates".
    • Once the updates is enabled, it will be little important and a few optional updates.
    • First click on the important updates and a list would be populated, choose the updates one by one.
    • After an update is installed and the le redemarrage reboot the PC, choose the second update and continue in the same manner.

Although I work for HP, but I am personally.
