  OK, I bought a new 256 MB of ram, when tried install it requested update of the bios. I find the update of the correct bios for her.   sp48024 is the latest bios for your laptop, but I think that you already have it.  Although the posting date for this update is closed April 5, 2010, the file AVCs to sp48024 on the link below tells the bios is in fact as of March 22, 2010 - see the DetailFileInformation field.

  When I posted my original question, only bios F19 is available for download. I checked the HP website again today and to my surprise now previous two versions of the bios are also available for download.

  In case a person at HP has decided to post links to older versions of the bios after reading these forums, then its totally awesome. I am impressed.
